  • 27th/28th October 2006 - XFM Halloween Spooktacular II

With Roaming Robots having confirmed theyve no events at Halloween, XFM couldnt just let the date drift by - not after the costumes and the capers that we all saw last year.

All being well the XFM Halloween Spooktacular will be returning for 2006 in a fantastic new venue the likes of which roboteering has never seen before !

Watch this space for details of when registration is open !

    Update

Extreme Fighting Machines and Robot Arenas Ltd are keen to try to move combat robotics out of the music hall/sports hall/school venue of old and promote what we all do to a totally new audience in a new quality of venue.

The 2006 Spooktacular will take place at the New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich, Suffolk. This venue provides a thrust stage, 140 degrees in the round with almost 45 degree raked stadium seating. It is a high quality venue and one of the newest purpose built regional theatres in the country - for more details see http://www.wolseytheatre.co.uk

Our aim at the moment is to continue to promote into venues such as this, and with the Wolsey theatre as a reference customer for us were confident a step-change up in the quality of events will be here to stay.

Shows for the Spooktacular will be taking place on Friday evening at 7pm (yes, Friday) and then 3 shows spread over the Saturday. Registration will soon be open and weve some special incentives for teams that can make the Friday evening show.

On the application it still says 2005, does that mean the application for 2006 is not open yet?

Adrian, given the XFM events are Featherweight events - its not such a great place to test your heavyweight !

Build a feather though and youll be playing for a £250 prize fund !

                        Hmmmm.

This could be a good event for Zeros 1st outing (Pic on profile).

Are there still places available Ed?

It is just competition or are there white boards also?

Glen, we usually run a full combat event alongside whiteboards and XFMs Cadet Class which worked well last time. We still have some space though were limited by the size of the pits for this one.

Dave - Yes apparently youre already signed up

Adrian - Already got a house robot Im afraid !
