    John,
I do this on a regular basis..
Cheapest crossing will always be Dover/Calais. Then you have around a 220 mile drive through France, Belgium and The Netherlands to Amsterdam.
Shortest route is Harwich/Hoek Van Holland, very short drive from Hoek to Amsterdam, but this is a more expensive option.
The other option is Hull/Rotterdam. But this takes an age and is not very cheep either.
(I always go Dover/calais and drive it!)

    Geoff.

Depends from where you come John

If you come from the south of Dover, Dover is the best bet. Dover-Calais. When you take nightboats, they are way cheaper than during daytravel.
From high up north, Hull-Hoek van Holland is expensive, but easy going.
From the midlands and centre of the UK, Harwich Hoek van Holland is an option, but I do not like that glorified bus mated with a casino and a 3th rang hamburger restaurant.

We are looking at Hull to Rotterdam. But means we arrive at 8am. Does this give us enought time? If not is there any camping the night before?

          What day David?
Also possible without heavyweight: fly. From airports around London to the venue in about 3 hours. It is sometimes cheaper than the ferry.

Dont forget the Efteling in Waalwijk (South-Netherlands). Great for the kids !!! But even adults will find things to their liking there...

Actualy Efteling is in Kaatsheuvel. But very close to Waalwijk. Its about fairytales and mostly for little children. I think most roboteers will bring bigger kids.

After talks with Jonno, yesterday, it is clear that the Roaming Robots arena will be upgraded to cater all weapons including spinners. Then it will be used for Euro2005.
Schedule now is: Tuesday start setting up arena on site. Wednesday set up pits area. Thursday set up of seating/stands and tech checks. Monday taking down arena, stands and pits.
It looks like there will be tv coverage so work on your act and team colours.

From what day are participants welcome?

It looks a prime opportunity to have some parties with the roboteers.

Since so many allready indicated that they want to be there earlier and stay longer, the campsite will be available from Tuesday.
