    Tony,
My calcs suggest it would give 6.5kj @ 1500RPM. Spin up time should be less than a second with a lem130. Max tip speed is about 100mph.

Looks great! Cant wait to see it in action.

I agree the KE calculation (I came out at 6.47Kj) But The only way you could produce a spin-up time even close to what Mark states is by having to run the LEM at 36V at a reduction ratio around 4:1, NO slip whatsoever in the drive and a very effecient set of battries. Even then I think 1 second is being a little hopeful. Pratical experience (plus a bit of fancy maths) sugests a spin-up time some were between 1.7 and 2.3 seconds (still more than acceptable!)
Looking forward to seeing that run in anger Tony!

Thanks for that guys I got around 7kjs I was out a little then,! dissregarding efficiency, spin up time depending
on what type of transmission/ setup I use, we estimated 2.0 secs, from still, recovery after a heavy impact
around 1.2-1.5 secs, battery performance all important, but more important to me is that
with this disc flying round, drivability!!!!!
it has to perform and deliver the weapon, I dont expect bots to be queuing up to run into the front,

Tony, as far as drivability goes, depends if you are going to run it horizontal or vertical!
Horizontal shouldnt cause you a problem, but that mass running vertical will be nightmare when it comes to doing a tight turn...just watch our featherweight and you will see what I mean!

Gyroscopic probs if we go vertcal, also greater
strike area horizontal, also can invert if flipped, but check out this Im seriously
thinking of spending some of my own money on this machine!!!!!!!!!:sad::sad:,

Tony, I have just looked at your profile. I can only say that you are a sick sick puppy.

Dreading meeting the machine that carries that disk..

Dont know where this is going, but apart from the fact that it can run in the championships, all these calculations bring norhing to this thread. Thanks.

                    Marien,
Sorry, it is not our intention to take this thread off topic. Please do not take offence, but small convasations like the one above will happen from time to time. it is the nature of roboteers and the forum and it does come back on topic very quickly.

                    Regards,
                    Geoff.
(sorry, I would have replied in Dutch, but its not quite that good yet!)

Its not impossible but I dont think so. The karting is organised by Bleekemolen, a Dutch racing family. Last year there were a couple of different sportsmen and women, some World Champions in their sport. So, who knows...
