7th October - Robots Extreme Wars Live - Maidstone
Re: 7th October - Robots Extreme Wars Live - Maidstone
We came second in the main comp, John, and scored a few goals in the hockey on the second day. Drove the forks into (under) the arena side in our first battle of the knockout-style competition, so we went out of that unfortunately.
Overall it was a great event, as mentioned though we're going through motors and gearboxes like no tomorrow. Not entirely sure why. T1 survived with the same setup much better.
Mario has been great and has provided us with a new fix for our lifter motor sprocket shaft whatsit, so the weapon should be fully functional (barring another chain break!) for Maidstone.
Re: 7th October - Robots Extreme Wars Live - Maidstone
As I want to actually have a robot competing this event I've been stripping the 4-bar flipper out my feather and canabalised it into something that can actually be fought, Before it was overweight and the CO2 mechanism wasn't finished.
Going to decorate rather.... interestingly for this event.

Re: 7th October - Robots Extreme Wars Live - Maidstone
I´m asking this because I´m not coming al the way over to be flipped out in 10 sec. because we never drove the new TMWHK and used the axe ... mind me ... I don´t mind fighting Tiberius or a simular good robot , but just not a flipper ... For Hades ; Bring it on ... !!!
Re: 7th October - Robots Extreme Wars Live - Maidstone
I found out at Swansea that Project X was 13.9Kg. Have successfully drilled about twenty 15mm holes in the bulkheads and removing two of the scoop strengtheners from the back, I have lost about 130g, but can't think of anything else to do . Will this be a problem, or can it still compete? As for Skyfall, with the new Gimsons fitted, I have no idea how much it weighs as I have no good scales. Last time it was 12.6Kg, so shouldn't be too big a difference, but you never know, so I may have to remove some stuff from inside to keep it in weight at the event.
First time they're both coming to an event because I finally have someone to drive Project X when I'm driving Skyfall. Two of my close freinds are coming to have a go at driving it, I'm sure they'll be good at it as, just like me, they play too many video games .

Brilliant event! Great show, the whole thing (appeared at least) to work like clockwork. And somehow we didn't further break our robot which was a nice change!
Thanks to everyone behind the scenes and everyone there.
