Yea just the 2 MWs but theyre still on and in the schedule
Im looking for 8-10 people to do a video diary of the run up to the event which will then be featured on the website and in the filming, if your up for it email me on craig@rebel-robots.com
Ill be updating you all next week with all the information you need
Thats a nice coincidence, Ive been filming a bit of a video diary since the 10th (4 weeks before the event seemed like a logical number) as a good excuse to play with my Christmas present of a new HDD camcorder.
Its been a bit half-assed so far because its hard to work on the robots and film it at the same time but Ill put a bit more effort into it now
can i ask Craig is there a reason why on the shop part of your site for the tickets the child and family tickets are in grey? instead of black just wondering if it means they are sold out (its on the 13.30pm-15.30pm show)
sorry theres been little contact from me over the last few days, so much going on these days.
Heres the information for the event,
Crew and arena to arrive for 7:00 ( anybody willing and able to help out will need to get to Magna for about 7:30, well need a hand putting the arena up and setting up the tables.
FRA representatives to arrive for 9:00
Other Roboteers to arrive for 9:30
Tech checks to run till 10:00
Roboteer Briefing 10:00
Prefight filming from 10:15
First show 11:00 to 13:00
Second Show 13:30 to 15:30
Third Show 16:00 to 18:00
Arena is being left up and taken down the following day but we do need everyone out as quickly as possible as Magna has another show next door the same night, so we need you all out by 18:30
Unlike before you wont be able to unload your cars inside Magna, youll have to park outside and come in through the main shutter door (if its open) or the side doors where the arena is.
Its going to be a very intensive day of robot combat people should be prepared to turn their robots round as quickly as possible,
On the day itself we have several different ways of doing things than your probably used to, for filming purposes there will be no specialist lighting effects (just bright lights) or in fight music,
Were also running our own fight rules remember these are very different to Robot Wars style and Battlebots style. Arena side will be a Referee and a judge, Ref will control roboteers during the fight and judge will score the fight.
Brief summery of points system
Robots score points by forcing their opponents over the points line or out of the arena.
If a robot gets flipped out of the arena the teams will be returned to their corners and fight will continue with the time left.
Robots start outside the points line in the coloured boxes and must cross the points line within 10 seconds before any contact can be made. Any robot that fails to do this will be deducted points. If a robot refuses to cross the line the offending robot will be disqualified.
Robots can cross the points line under their own power but must return to inside the points line within 10secs or they will be deducted points
Pinning is permitted for 10secs, knock out time is 20secs fight time limit is 3 mins
if scores are tied after 3mins then match will be replayed during the break.
Roboteers may surrender if they have received significant damage
Sounds overly complicated but just remember that you win by killing your opponent or slamming them over that line
We wont be able to allow people to film their with their own cameras because of the contract we have with the film crew, your welcome to take pictures but no filming Im afraid.
Other news is that Dominik Diamond will not be there due to unforeseen circumstance, this does not effect the filming only that you wont be interview by a celebrity
More information to come during the week best of luck to all of you still building
