    Geoff you said.

Discussions between any event organiser and the FRA are confidential

    Fine.

However the FRA .. as I understand it ..represents Roboteers interests NOT the EOs...hence the need for an Arena inspection etc.

Could you please confirm ... rather than us having to infer the outcome of the inspection from Karolines post ..that the Arena is going to be suitable for the upcoming event.

    Regards Alan

      Alan,
You are quite right, our first duty is to the roboteers.
The aena was inspected and found to be fit for the proposed event. We can also confirm that we have had sight of Rebel Robots public liability insurance which is also suitable for this event.
Other matters of a comercialy sensitive nature were also discussed and these, Im sure you will understand, must remain a confdential matter between the event organiser and the association.
I hope this answers your perfectly valid question and we can now hope the roboteers will fully support this event.

      Geoff.

Although the EO or FRA were under no obligation to post immediately the results of the arena inspection, the lack of any news for a week will no doubt have cast a level of uncertainty (albeit small) amongst roboteers in regards to whether this event would run or not, especially when you bear in mind the unfortunate cancellation of the event last September.

However the good news of an able arena and suitable liability insurance is bound to put minds at ease (I will admit, I was apprehensive but am now a lot more optimistic) and Im sure were all more than happy to give the event our full support.
Id like to thank Geoff and Karoline for bearing the cold and taking the time to inspect the arena suitability for us roboteers and thanks too to Craig for the effort put in to building a spiffy new arena for us to play in
Plus its a boost to the sport that there is now another arena on the circuit - us lucky lot are getting spoiled for choice!

I look forward to seeing any pics that may surface, and more so to seeing you all in a month for some mechanical mayhem!

To be fair Jamie the thanks has to go to Karoline, Mike Lambert, Steve Johnson & Trevor Wright. They were the ones who froze their colective asses off to inspect the arena!
Unfortunatly I wasnt available on the day!

Craig. It sounds like things are progressing. But for us its come to crunch time. We dont want to let our good friends at Robots live down but I need re-assurance that this event is on given that there is nothing on magna website relating to this event that I can find. With just 4 weekends left..I want to make sure i am getting the right robots ready as our heavy is in pieces still. Thanks, Ian (Team Shock)

                  Craig,
Firstly just want to say, this isn€™t an attack on you, or a dig, or anything. After your last event, I€™m sure I€™m not the only one who€™s a bit dubious.
I read Ian€™s post above and something struck a nerve, I€™d just like to ask a couple of questions if I may, as I think although may be wrong that others want to know too.
I noticed myself that there wasn€™t anything on the Magna website, so I phoned them today, however the lady I spoke to laughed when I mentioned Rebel Robots, as apparently they have had quite a few phone calls from people wanting to know more information, but they know nothing of the event taking place.
Now if there is some confusion between management and reception regarding your booking, then that€™s ok, however from your point if you have the booking, I€™d be on the phone to them getting it sorted, as your loosing ticket sales by them.
So do you have the booking, which I would hope by now or not? Could you let us all know?

Ill speak to Magna again today but to answer your question the venue is fully booked the FRA has seen the contract I have with Magna for the event including the 50% deposit paid confirmation

(short version) 2F = An arena certified for featherweight combat with all weapon types being allowed.

Tony, we siad 2F as a provisional rating so this event could go ahead. Hopefully when we see it next time it may well get a 2.

Could you please qualify ...in the interests of all the Roboteers who may be considering attending... the provisional rating given by the FRA.
