If Anybody is having trouble with PAt testing please let me know.
OK....PAT testing. Before we know it we will be looking like Bob the Builder with our hard hats, ear protectors, safety goggles, steel toe-caps, and high vis. jackets. We will be sucking breath through our teeth and tutting ! All children will be banned and we will all have a 6 page risk assessment to complete. We will all have to go on a three day course to prove that we are competant using tools ; day 1 - am - how to use a hammer and on the last day - first aid and what to do in the event of being attacked by a plague of locusts. Joking ?!....no Im not, cause thats how things are in the real world these days. So, as Bob would say Safety First !
Just a thought, can you not arrange for a local PAT tester to come out and test and issue certificates on the day for teams and equipment then split the cost. Teams could also get other additional equipment PAT tested for future use.
I would like to just re-state that the requirement for pat testing is not for us, we find it more of a pain than you guys do trust me. we have looked into every option possible even hiring a pat tester to come on the day which i was quoted £595 plus vat! We have had to invest in pat testing equiptment to help both us and you guys. I would prefer all teams to be tested before the event please otherwise it may cause problems and delays on the day.
As I mentioned above, I will be at Stoke and possibly Aylesbury doing PAT testing for roboteers signed up for the featherweight UK championships. After some discussion we have come to the conclusion that we will do FREE testing for people who have signed up for the event.
Just under a month to go till this event now and the tingles of excitement have started!
I weighed Drumroll with all the parts in it (minus wires, connectors, top panel etc) and even with its new hardox wedge at the back, the darn thing is only coming in at 11.5kg! Might add several layers of paint to it to up the weight
Hows everyone elses robots shaping up for what should be an awesome event? And who do we think is going to go home with the top prize?
My moneys on a spinner this year (hopefully mine! )
I havent a hope in hell of winning this, but I wanna go out in a blaze of glory, so I reall hope I fight a spinner. I know Satanix stands up pretty well.
Whats the state of play with Hells Angel Dave? Ive seen various pictures of it over the year with more parts being added to the weapon. Is it close to having a working axe yet?
