cant beat a good bit of banter, John putting it on 24v may just make it a very expensive grinder and too fast for the teeth to engage, its a case of testing both and see what works best. i think 12v will be fine though that is scary enough for me.
one thing i have found is that i have never had a robot drive so nice, im only using the sabertooth xxl speedo, its so much more acurate, i was only used to the old electronize speedos in my old feathers.
There is an easy solution for it al be it not a cheap one. Get the disk motors on a single direction speed controller like a Victor 883 SC, spin up at full throttle and once its going get the stick back to 50% making it roughly 12V.
On the other hand, getting the disk on 12v saves about 750 grams in weight. That might help for finding a tag teammate.
cheers leo, it will be something i will consider in the new year, i am planning upgrades for next event such as titanium armour. i always get these last minute probs! and they are also ones that baffle everybody, its never straight forward with me
Kenny, probably got a couple at work I could borrow will have a look tomorrow. Do you need them before the event, or is on the day good enough? Also is that male to male?
Does anyone have a failsafe (any kind, just so long as it works ) that I could borrow for this event? Didnt realise when I bought my Victor for the weapon control that it didnt have a built-in failsafe and I dont have enough money before or any time after Christmas to get one.
Bottle - I think i sold it
Valve - I think i put it in Ripper
Speedcontrollers - I have
Batteries - one of the pay to drive robots will be loosing theirs
Itll be alright... spinners watch out the flipper boys are coming !!!
