Get posting then John . Theres some very good videos about now - we just need to find some form of alchohol to clean the greasy smears from the shrink wrap that we wraped the screens up in for storage as a few screens are covered in it. Any any ideas?

grant, on saturday i am bringing some stuff over for you to try, i couldnt find any old bits of polycarb to try it on, but also i wouldnt want to say it will work and it doesnt or ends up ruining your polycarb!, you will need to get one of your passengers to hold it upright going home as its in a squirty bottle and i wouldnt want it to leak! i dont know if it is alchol based, but it contains xylene? it is a mild form of chemical and we use it to remove glue from the vans that have been signwritten. the only other thing you could try is a degreaser such as comma hyperclean, or WD40 might work?

The one stuff that can disolve HDPE, aromates, and Xylene is one of those.

Ive started using xylene in a sealant at work. Its an absolute nightmare. I found it disolved most adhesives/tapes some rubbers and some plastics. I could try it on some polycarbonate if you want.
We use it on a different type of plastic and if it dries in small gaps it causes crazing of the surface (micro cracks).
But xylene does clean things well.
We also use IPA (I think its isopropyl alcohol) that is also a brilliant cleaner.

i was gonna say looking on the tin, one of the ingrediants is xylene, we have used it on plastic colour coded bumpers with no harm, so i really dont know. but as you say its a good cleaner.

Something along the lines of fairy liquid, water and elbow grease not work?

Nope, tried that. I think it needs an alcohol based substance on it. Everything else just smudges it around. You cant rub the screens because they just get scratched whatever you rub them with.

AC Cleaner is good for grease/dry oil removal, its what we use on our machines at work. Dont know what it would do to PC. Will look at the data sheet tomorrow.
