Oh it was a great weekend and a lot of fun, nice to meet Karoline and her son, nice to meet some people face-to-face and discuss the merits of proper spelling on the forum and very nice to see so much robotic action in a short time (can we have the featherweight flippers versus little racing cars again in the future ? I never knew one could use ones flipper to slap ones opponent... repeatedly...) so I guess we will try to be there again next year, with more robots this time.
But I want to know two things:
One, are the model tanks going to drive in the arena again next year ? If so, where can I get a good gas mask ?
And two, has the baby gotten over the shock of having had Mike introducing it to all roboteers in the Pizza Hut and how well has the poor little mite digested his explanations about them ?
Boys and Girls, what more can I say? A FANTASTIC weekend. Thanks to all of you.
We started to deliver the arena on Wednesday night and we finished the event at 2:30 am this morning. It was all worth it.
The saturday night room 13 drinking went down really well. We retired to room 11 ( Daniel Emmit provided a good soft sofa with his sleeping body. But a bottle of beer thrust into his eager searching hand soon paid him off )due to Craigs brother threatening to go to his car and sleeping there. Poor boy. He missed another next round of drinking. Adam proved to be a good host. But before we left the Danby hall of residence the little Mute member just had to have a taste of the pavement pizza. And he was smiling the whole time!
Sunday morning was predictably slow.
The event organisers are very happy with us as is Pizza Hut.
Babeth, we and the baby have a thing in common. My wife is to be her God Mother. I only did my duty to her and introduced her to you orrible misfits. What more can be siad about that?
Yeh, the tanks did smoke quite a lot. But unfortunatly nothing can be done about it.
I forgot to mention the little cars. Seeing Rip bitch slappin the cars was so much fun. Jonnos face was a picture. He and Stu were laughing so much. Yes, it is to be repeated. Watch this space as they say. The car lads and lasses are very eager to have a go again.
It was a great weekend, we really enjoyed it.
It was a good call for pizza hut for the meal on Saturday night, the pizza certainly helped to soak up the beer (or as in Marks case helped to keep it solid on the way up)
We heard the maids comments about No 13 from our room, as this is a family forum I wont repeat them.
Mike as you went to bed early you also missed the naked doorman.
Bring on Portsmouth, are we going for the Travel lodge on Friday night, if so more beer
i think 13 was a good number to be in.
Unlucky for some eh!?
I really cant wait for the next event, having spent the day cutting and machining the new bulkheads all drilled correctly to solve our teething problems( took me ages to think of that one) so should be running properly at the weekend.
great exhibition event to learn its problems and look to solve them now.
We proved you can fit 4 people, 3 heavyweights, 1 feather weight, and all the kit, into a small car and trailer.
Highlight for me was Rip ( star of the show ) slapping and throwing the little cars, sometimes too far, but hey... the crowd loved it, so did the drivers.
They got far too good in the end though.
Cant wait for next time, and were gonna stay in the travel lodge so I can partake in a little alcohol as well instead of driving. Oh dear Amanda and alcohol, you know the rest
