I have been a little remiss here. Maybe I should tell you what Brighton Model World is for those that dont know.

At the beginning of each year a lot of Sussex model clubs, ranging from boats, cars, trucks trains and planes invite clubs from all over the country and hire the Brighton International Centre for 3 glorious days. For the last 5 years they have asked robots from Robot Wars to attend their event. Last year Robot Show was asked to hold the event for them and this year details have just been finalised for next years event.

As you all know, spaces are limited as are expences ( nothing changes does it ) so please book early.

This is a Friday, Saturday and Sunday event. Saturday and Sunday being the most important public days. Good fun is had by all and on Saturday night a resturant is booked for us all to have a good eat and drink.

    Cheers.

Brighton IS glorious but the centre? UGH! Youd be better off on the West Pier although I dont recommend being anywhere near West Street on a Saturday night!

As I already knew about this event Ive had a thought about the flyer(s) but its not legal or even moral and will definately upset the model railway buffs and lovers of certain childrens books!

Mike, you will not have to nag us into coming to th t event if Karoline brings that Theramin. Ill do the job myself. Mario will not have a quiet night from now on until then.

Its a bugger trying to park in central Brighton and Ill never get the wardrobe sized Theramin on the bus - anyway I havent actually got a Theramin.... I just stand in a corner and make funny noises. Anyone that knows me will testify to that

Any suggestion about shoving ME inside a large wardrobe will be met with even more Theramin type noises

now, I must be either too old or just plain stupid. What on Earth is a Theramin? Or dont I want to know?

Parking is not too bad for competitors. We have our own private car park at Black Rock with a mini bus to shuttle us back and forth.

                Mike.

A Theramin or Theremin is an electronic instrument played by waving your hands near a couple of antennae. It detects a capacitance effect between one antenna and hand to control volume, and between the other antenna and hand to control pitch. An early synthesiser.

Think of the incidental music from The Forbidden Planet if you want to know what it sounds like.

it is used in many scifi movies as a sound effect for flying saucers.

Private car park at Black Rock? ROFL The kidsll be nicking them and racing up and down the Lower Prom ¼ mile. Then up Wilson Ave thru Whitehawk ending up in big car pyre on the Racehill. The flames will be seen for miles!
Old Sparkie whos been driving the Volks railway since the end of WW1 will probably be shuttling you guys and girls backwards & forwards. (you wont be actually going anywhere - just shuttling backwards & forwards).

..now, I must be either too old or just plain stupid. What on Earth is a Theramin?

Aw cmon Mike - Seeing as it was a feature of 50s sci-fi movies youre not too old - youre just plain stupid

You fell right into that one and I can hear the squelch from here

Karoline, you and I really must have words!!!!! And I know that you are much older that I, so behave and collect your penion before Old Sparkie nicks your handbag and makes off in his private electric limo to spend your hard earned pension in the electric meter!

I do like your username. Mind you, it would be far more fun without the ki.

                        Mike.

Collect your pension....In Brighton!! Thats if you can find a Post Office that they havent closed down!!
For my sins I work for this once great, now idioticly run organisation. Their branch closure progam is a total disaster for the local comunities affected and a public relations cock-up of the highest order. Dont start me on this subject!...
Sorry, I know its off topic, but its somthing I feel very strongly about.
OK, said my two pence worth (Gets off soap box!)

Back on topic...Looking forward to this event, sounds like fun...even if Mike has threatened to Kick my arse!

                          Geoff,

Me too Geoff - Im ex St James St. but I was sooo
relieved to get out with the redundancy package.

Me too Geoff v.2 - Mike has threatened to kick my arse too but were not talking fighting robots here....he just wants to kick my arse (dyslexlics are ROFL by now).

As for you Mike - did anyone know that the anagram for your name is Blame Kermit. Or Make Trimble which is what you would probably like to do with the NI Secretary.......My name comes out as A Lean Elk Nil Porn LOL

Anyway at least I can still walk to the PO unlike yourself who is permanently fixed to a giant re-usable inco pad. Whatll be the main event at the show - us hurling insults at each other? BOO HOO BOO HOO BOO HOO Unlike you Im a real woman and can get away with bursting into tears.
