Re: Heavyweight spinners?
One of the issues with spinners would be time and the ability to keep running. At events now there is not normally not that much damage so most robots are out of the arena and back in in two weeks time at another show.
If we were running shows once or twice a year then it's not a problem to rebuild every time we fight but the sheer cost of rebuilding a completely smashed heavy is a lot and if the chasis is damaged then it can be a major welding job to put it right.
Thor, terrorhurtz and tiberious are nasty little robots which can cause a great deal of damage but in reality a lot of it's supreficial and you can run with or without the damage and a big hammer normally sorts it out.
The featherweight spinner shows run once or twice a year so it can be the case that the robots are effectively disposable. Not the same for heavies where we are fortunate enough to have twelve or more shows a year. Robots are fun but personally I don't want to be spending every single weekend and evenings after work fixing them just to keep running. (even though recently we have been rebuilding between events
