Don't see how that footage was unsafe personally. They're all wearing eye protection and ear protection when using the saw and he's barely touching the robot. Besides, its a metal cutting saw being used on metal, that's its intended use no? Ok so he's not wearing full protective clothing but its a three second demo and sparks are minimal.

Can't fathom for a second how using smoke grenades is unsafe, especially in an arena with a high saftey rating designed to contain brushless powered featherweight spinners. If those scenes were to be 'banned' on the grounds of not being safe then its political correctness and health and saftey gone mad.

Sorry for a mini-rant, I just think society is a little too mollycoddled these days :|

Smoke grenades aren't unsafe, it's just that they ruin the fight for anyone that doesn't have a thermal imaging camera

I was going to be a smarty-pants and say they're not outlawed in the rules either, so hello smoke grenades at the next UK champs
But then I re-read the 'Forbidden' section of the rules and discovered that large quantities of smoke that impair vision are banned. Boo :sad:

Hello All

We are pleased to announce that Robo Challenge will be one of the main features for this years Gadget Show Live!

We will be recreating the the mechanical mayhem from the Robo Challenge episode. Come and see the bots off the show and even have ago yourself. We have adapted our robots with some awesome gadgets which allows 2 to be controlled with Wii motes and 2 off Wii balance boards!
