        FRA elections 2009

Well ive kept away from all of this mainly because of the main reason of: Im no longer a roboteer to be fair.

I dont compete anymore... i dont get a buzz from fighting.. but i do get a buzz from the building of the robots/effects etc... so I€™m part of the effects and media crew of Roaming Robots as its what i do best in my current real job back here in Worcester and also what i plan to move towards in more depth in the future of my life.

But i will say... ive been part of the main roboteering when it first realllly kicked off, end of Series 4 when live events took part around the UK outside mentorn... ive know every roboteer and been invovled in 99% of major projects from working backstage at Robot Wars.. Technogames, XFM, Robot Rumble, UK Robotic Games and currently Roaming Robots.

To say i dont care what happens with roboteering and FRA and Roboteers would be false as i do as its something which has helped me grow and been a great part of my life and im over the moon to see and meet some new great teams like Psycho Fling, Toon, Shock etc etc as it really is a great collective of people and it was a shame to see it split last year. Anyway. again id be lying if i dont care what happens as i do.. and to be fair the 2 main people who are up for it that i think will bring this sport/hobby forward in the right direction would be Kane and Geoff.

I truly beleive Kane and Geoff will take it forward in the right manor and are the right roboteers to do it. Good luck to them, they have my vote!!

        Mr Stu
        VOTE KANE AND GEOFF

Shane, and everybody else, I am not biased in any way shape or form, I have taken the objective veiw that, given the chance, he would make a good president.
Shane, you have posted vote for Kane Aston on various places on the forum, does that make you biased? It would certainly be considered campaigning for him.
I have no problem with your actions, you are merely showing your support for Kane.
Finally there is no club, clique, conspiracy or hidden agenda as far as I am concerned.
Everybody should vote according to their conscience for who they believe is right for the jobs available and not be swayed by the opions (however genuine) of others.

Mike i totally agree with you and dont think i am against your views because i really do think you have the sport at heart which it good. if you know me by now i do stupid pranks like that. dont take them personally its a campaign and doesnt reflect on how i feel about you personally. Yes on this campaign i am biased toward Kane Aston because you yourself said you felt it was ok to back someone who would be right for the job.

I feel you would do a good job but i feel Kane would do a better job. He has been doing robots since day 1. I even watched the first wars today with my 2 boys and there was the first Behemoth.

            Mike Hamilton....Registered 05-2007
            Kane Aston ......Registered 10-2003

He just deserves the job more than anyone and being there right from the beginning until now just shows he is committed to the sport.

Thanks for that endorsement Shane, I know Kane has been in roboting a long time,I like the guy and get on well with him, but I did not start in 2007, that is when I joined the forum.
I started building Pressure mk1 for Robot Wars series 4 but didnt finish it til series 6 extreme 1 (got to a heat final, lost on judges decision).
We entered series 7 with the mk2 but did not get through the qualifying rounds we have been doing live events every year since then with the mk3 and now the mk4 as well as Skink, the boxers and Puck.

Sorry if i implied you started robots in 2007. I knew you have been doing it longer than that but my point was that he has been on the FRA since the beginning. He has been doing robots from the beginning. Not sure if he was on the committee from the start but i will get clarification on this point i am sure.

His committment was my agenda in the previous post.

                          FRA elections 2009

                          Shane, Mike,
From the minutes of meetings published on this website, the FRA was started on 20/9/03 and had an interim self elected governing body until the 1st membership elections in which Kane was elected to a place of the committee - the result of that election was minuted in the meeting held on 24/4/04. For the record, Geoff also took office at the same time.
Only Andy and Tony Somerfield have served on the committee for longer.

Yeah pretty much since the beginning

Well Woodys post pointing to Eds event on the australian website is solid proof that the current committee acted in the right way without bias and is infact a democratic organisation.

                            No worries

I hate to say it but I agree with you Shane. The rule is there so shouldnt be broken for anyone. What if Ed stops organising this event and passes control to someone else? Just a question as I have no insight into this event.
