I agree with Tem Event horizon. To compete you have to evolve you designs. If you ban certain materials then you will probably find machining techniques taking their place. I have limited maching tools and very impressed by some of the latest work. It doesnt stop me evolving and trying to improve my designs. What generally stops me is time. Therefore sweeping up my robot after an event is a bigger setback than replacing a burnt out standard part. Thats why I have reserved a hardox plate - to grt more life out of the robot chassis plus given the tools I have I can cut / weld / drill the stuff

A feather weight with hardox armour is still beatable, i guess it differs with heavies especially without hw spinners about

Im still 8 reservations short to be able to order that 2nd sheet. So I might have to disappoint a few people.

I'd be interested if it was UK postage but my other issue is that i'm moving house atm which is expensive as it is. If the second sheet could wait a month or two post xmas etc I would take a sheet

Apologies for my late reply. I just got home from an unforseen trip to Germany for my work.
Tomorrow morning I will order only one 2.5x8.5m sheet, because I do not have enough reservations for a 2nd sheet.
I am very sorry, but having to keep 9 out of 14 sheets (± £1000,-) on stock myself is too much. That are 7 too many.

Adz600, Shakesc, Eventorizion, for each of you I have one 1x1.5m sheet available if you want.
Im having a holiday the first 2 weeks of Januari and will find a few days to come to the UK during this time, instead of going to the event in Londen. But I still need to work out some proposal for transport. Shakesc, Eventorizion could you please send me a PM with your adress? Adz600 already send me his and I would like to have a look how much distance there is between you 3.


We can try to repeat this combined purchase again at the end of Januari/beginning of Februari, when there should be a new batch of the smaller 2.5x6m sheets at SSAB. Then there need to be only 3 more reservations instead of 7. Based on the posts in this thread, the people first in line are:
