I think they were lucky to even last two months - after they were beaten by Girls Aloud, I think they tried to release another single then faded into obscurity. Sorta feel sorry for them in a way, winning the show, looking forward to fancy lifestyles them falling back to earth with a bump.
Went to see the Darkness on Saturday, they were really good. I liked Ash just as much, but Do Me Bad Things were a bit too poncey for my liking. The singer who wasnt trying to be Freddy Mercury was better. Im going to see Franz Ferdinand sometime next month, too.
I like a mix between classical and modern rock. For example, the last two CDs I bought were Foo Fighters - The Colour and the Shape, and Pink Floyd - The Wall.
Lovin the graphics on your profile. Is it true that The Darkness played some of Bohemian Rhapsody on Saturday night cos they certainly didnt on Friday?
Im a fan of Interpol, Joy Division, The Pixies, The Hives, The Strokes, Foo Fighters, Incubus, King Crimson, Einstuerzende Neubauten & Dogs Die In Hot Cars.
The best gig Ive been to recently was a Red Jezebel one. They rock live.
I see Dogs Die In Hot Cars supporting Embrace in November.
They put on quite a good show. Probably one of the better support acts ive seen.
Embrace just did a secret gig in a cave in Cornwall 300m underground for 400 people. They played a set of 15 acoustic songs and covered the Echo and The Bunnymen song that had the cave on the cover.
Would have been i bit of a different gig to go to!
Carnt beat abit of Led Zeppelin, Jimmy page was a genious, There are better guitarists around today such as Joe satriani or buckethead though
Im also a fan of Nirvana, Perljam, Alice in chains, Gunsnroses and some newer stuff such as abit of slipknot- corey taylors got a cool voice. Anyone here planning on going to the next download?
Currently on my cd player play list:
Snow Patrol - Final Straw
Manic Street Preachers - Everything Must Go
The Lock Stock and 2 smoking barrels soundtrack
Ozzy Osbourne - Best Of
Madness - The Buisness
Theres better than Buckethead and Satch, though the latter is brilliant. Vai, Malmsteen and especially Fripp are all as good as, if not better in places, than Satch.
Gotta give him credit for teaching Vai, Johnson and Hammett though.
