    Mechanical Noise - Series 1

    [[[new ruling]]]

sorry to come up with this, but I just realized I made a mistake in the ruling about Judges Decisions...
I wanted the 4 different criteria to be differently ranked in importance, damage being the most decisive factor, style the least, it doesnt work that way with the current system (with BOTH machines scores having their mark simply going up by 10) therefor, the new system will look like this:
-If the battle itself won€™t give us a winner, it goes to the judges, they will give:
A score for caused damage; (a mark out of 10)*2.0
A score for shown aggression; (a mark out of 10)*1.5
A score for control of the fight; (a mark out of 10)*1.0
A score for shown style; (a mark out of 10)*0.5

The scores will be added up and the robot with the highest score wins, a rematch will be held if a draw occurs.

Since there has already been a Judges Decision (Natural Selection vs S.D. IV), using the old system, I think it would be fair to redo this decission with the current, valid system...

    Damage: S.D. IV ((7 out of 10)*2=14)
    NS ((3 out of 10)*2=6)
S.D. IV did some damage to the side-skirts, but more impressive was how NS€™s crusher was nearly sawn off
NS did some very minor damage on S.D. IV€™s armour with it€™s claw
    Aggression: S.D. IV ((8 out of 10)*1.5=12)
    NS ((6 out of 10)*1.5=9)
S.D. IV successfully rammed NS twice, and showed much aggression with it€™s saw blade during the fight
    NS rammed S.D. IV once
    Control: S.D. IV ((6 out of 10)*1=6)
    NS ((8 out of 10)*1=
S.D. IV was pretty much in control in the beginning, with NS against the arena wall, it didn€™t use that control for much except for some damage at the side-skirts
NS had some very solid control over S.D. IV while he was in his pincers
    Style: S.D. IV ((5 out of 10)*0.5=2.5)
    NS ((8 out of 10)*0.5=4)
    S.D. IV€™s rams weren€™t all that stylish
NS however stylishly lifted S.D. IV off the ground, much to the pleasure of the audience

    S.D. IV: 14+12+6+2.5=34.5
    NS: 6+9+8+4=27

Ofcourse, this changes nothing for the course of the tournament (which would have been different when Natural Selection would have won with the new score system, which would have forced me to rewrite the second round)

sorry for the inconvenience, have a good day

      Black Panther Queen vs YACATR

      3€¦ 2€¦ 1€¦ Activate!

YACATR€™s disc starts spinning up as always. Alex remembers what this mighty disc is capable of from their initial meeting in round 1, and quickly charges his machine into it. Andy sees the black pyramid speeding towards his robot and tries to dodge this assault, but the queen€™s axe is fired and hits the Hardox roof of YACATR. Black Panther Queen reverses out of the fray, but the now dented YACATR is still maneuvering and manages to reach the side of Black Panther Queen. Alex finds itself unable to drive away fast enough, and sees how YACATR touches his side. A bunch of spark can be seen, and Black Panther Queen finds his side sliced and diced, before it is sent flying sideward! Shocked, Alex reverses his machine once more, this time leaving YACATR with no chance of catching up with him. However, Andy doesn€™t intend to catch up with his opponent at all. Instead, He drives towards the pit release button in an attempt to get rid of his opponent ASAP. Alex now decides to do the same thing, resulting in both machines driving towards each other once more. Alex now takes on a more careful approach and maneuvers away from his opponent€™s disc. Of course, Andy is doing the opposite and tries to maneuver his disc towards the opponent! Both machines drive around each other for a while, until the queen€™s quick wheels suddenly turn on the spot. Andy sees how his machine lays within the reach of the axebot€™s axe and tries to drive his machine out of danger. However, when the mighty axe-shaft moves up and eventually comes down, it is still able to reach YACATR€™s titanium side-skirt! His skirt being bend, buckled and pierced, Andy seem to ask himself why he didnt make his skirts out of Hardox as well. Alex however seems to be rather pleased by the damage he just did. Black Panther Queen now drives into the side he just attacked, and YACATR finds himself left without any wedge-protection over here since his skirt has just been buckled. The queen€™s flipper moves up, and YACATR is send flying through the arena, until it comes down on his invertible body. Angered, Andy now goes for a headlong attack. Well, semi-headlong that is, as YACATR drives towards the front-left corner of Black Panther Queen. Alex doesn€™t want to take any more hits from the lethal disc and turns away. Although Black Panther Queen now may have avoided another collision with the disc, it still finds his front-left corner wedged by one of YACATR€™s side-boxes and slammed against the arena wall! Desperately Alex starts firing his axe now, but this only leaves some minor dents in Andy€™s roof before he backs off again, preparing for another ram. Andy starts gearing up once more, but Black Panther Queen turns away before he can be hit. As a result, YACATR€™s disc directly hits the though arena wall and the impact sweeps him backwards. Alex sees how his opponent becomes more or less uncontrollable and seizes his chance. With both machines standing parallel to the nearest arena wall, the queen slides her spatula underneath YACATR€™s dancing body, and fires her flipper. There€™s nothing Andy can do when he sees how his creation is thrown towards the arena corner, the same corner that Black Panther Queen is driving to. YACATR quickly turns around when the queen comes in. Alex isn€™t impressed, and sees how his spatula slides underneath the disc. The flipper moves up, and the impact of the disc causes one of Alex two spatula€™s to break off! However, it€™s still effective enough to make YACATR move upwards, and send it towards the top of the arena wall. Andy holds his fingers crossed, still hoping his machine will safely land within the borders of the arena. However, all hope flies away when he sees that when the disc hits the top of the arena wall, it€™s momentum seems to lever him towards the camera tracks!

      CEASE

YACATR has hit the camera tracks
Black Panther Queen goes through to the semi-finals!

If SOR wants to gang on Storm 2, thats all to the good, i have pretty good speed, but i think ill try and grapple it with my pincers and most likely pit it, nearly worked last time

Flank Attack vs Mega Masher 2 vs Tengu VII

Ah crap. Thisll be hard. Hopefully, if the other Alex wants, we can gang up real nice on Mega Masher.

Mega Masher has some nice armor, but I *think* I can puncture it. The body shape is said to be Minion-esque, which I think will hurt it since its so boxy because of that. So... from the start, Im going to be all aggressive like on him and box rush Mega. Quickly Im going to put my claws around him (My plow should negate his wedge since they are both a zero GC), and crunch him. With any luck, theyll have crushed some of that armor into his wheels so that they are jammed. Even if they arent jammed, then Ill just use my superior torque to drive him around and use Tengu as a make-shift hazard. Tengu is powerful, and should rip out that disc after enough hits. By this time, Ill just pit Mega as soon as I can.

If Mega comes out with the disc first, no problem. Ill come to him as fast as I can so that he cannot get that disc to full speed. My plow will stop the brunt of the disc and then Ill put my claws around him, and pit.

Like I said, I really hope Alex wants to team up with me.

            Good luck!

My opponents are attacking each other? Suits me.

Just to save having a boring fight and picking no points up should it go to the judges Ill just go for which ever bot is in front. Storm 2 should be useless if I can flip it.

thank you, thank you, thank you

Matty, I remember how you gently pushed me back towards vapourboteering somewhere last year, didnt really work out back then though, but it pretty much works out right now doesnt it?^^

to come back to your earlier question, Aaron, Im more then willing to write some of the fights in your tournament, the fights featuring my own vapours that is

and Richard, Series 2 of this tournament will probably need 12 tournaments, your vapours could be an awesome addition

Sorry Alex M and W, that wedge crunch tactic isnt going to work...the wheels are set well WELL away, and indeed inward, from the wedge itself.

Anyways, If both Alexs ARE teaming up against me, I guess Im going to have to use a little strategy. Use my, in theory, WAY-superior manuoverability to get Flank Attack between Mega Masher and Tengu, then keep it that way for as long as possible. Attack FA whenever I can, taking its hint...think about it. ALWAYS stay away from Tengu and NEVER give up.

Well, you said it was like Minion. You do know what Minion looks like right? And uninvertible wedge, with a disc at the blockish end. The wheels, protected by only a wheel guard.

Way superior maneuverability? Im nearly twice as fast as you, I can run circles around you. Faster robots dont usually mean less control you know.

So let me get this straight. Youre going to try and get me between yourself, and Tengu... right. You want this because you want to push me into Tengu? Have you forgotten that I have extremely superior torque and traction to that of yours? So, when you have me between yourself and Alex, and you come ramming in, guess whats going to happen? My claws are going to shut, youre going to get trapped, and Ill be able to push you. If you try coming into the side of me, well sorry but my differiential turning plus my better speed will keep my front facing you at all times.

Besides, Alex and I are on a team, hell try to move out of the way instead of letting me get hit.

You have the worst speed out of all of us. 12mph vs. 18mph, vs. 22mph... yup, youre going to run circles around both of us and be able to get me stuck between a box and a spinner. Yup.

Youre forgetting that more speed= Less control.

Tonys right Alex. Because in the vapourbot land we dont know what most peoples driving is like then the rule more speed = less control is used.
