Robot Wars Extreme: The Bets Are On

To quote properly you use this

    [quote*] [/quote*]
    (Take away the *)

I agree with Martyn, cause Chris, if we meet in the arena some day, you wouldnt want me holding a grudge now, would you?

Robot Wars Extreme: The Bets Are On

And so, heres the All Stars final...over a month overdue but at least its here.

KAT 3 vs FIRESTORM 5 vs TORNADO

BOOTH 1: Firestorm 5, Tornado (using the lifter)
          BOOTH 2: Kat 3
          HOUSE ROBOTS: Matilda, Shunt

          3...2...1...ACTIVATE!!

And off we go. Straight away, Tornado charges right into Kat 3. The kitty robot fires the axe, but to no avail. This seems worrying for Kat 3. Tornado slams Kat 3 right into the arena wall! Ouch. Firestorm, meanwhile, gets fed up of being ignored and drives underneath the two robots. The flipper blade opens, and the action forces Tornado out from underneath Kat 3 and now on top of her...whilst the Kat herself has fallen onto her side. The axe strikes and the cat lands back on her paws, whilst Tornado is kicked away, but upside down. This could be a worry for Tornado, seeing as the ramp is now useless. But still, it rams Kat 3 into the arena wall...where it becomes stuck. Firestorm charges in underneath Tornado and fires the flipper again, propping Tornado up against the arena wall. Meanwhile, Firestorm slams Kat 3 away and onto the pit release button. As the pit lowers, Refbot manages to free Tornado from the wall...right side up. Tornado charges at Firestorm...and gets Clean Underneath! Firestorm tries to wiggle free, but it doesnt work...Tornado drives and down the pit goes Firestorm. One down, one to go. Kat 3 hits Tornado with the axe, but theres no real damage. Tornado slams Kat 3 into the arena wall, then into the CPZ...which is, fortunately, empty. Kat 3 gets away before Shunt can charge over. Tornado slams his wedge under Kat 3s side again. Kat 3 turns...AND DRIVES INTO THE PIT! I dont blame them really. I think they only had one wheel on the ground when Tornado went under them. Tornado spins in celebration...he knows the All Star Championship is over.

          CEASE!

Firestorm 5 and Kat 3 fought like battle robots...and thats why they failed.
TORNADO IS THE NEW ALL-STAR CHAMPION!!

NEXT TIME: The first of our three annihilators.

          COMPETITORS
          1: Behemoth
          2: Pussycat
          3: Raging Knightmare
          4: Major Tom 3
          5: Robochicken
          6: Flippa

          See you around. Perhaps.

Id like to point out that the Annihilator is in progress. However, I would also like to say that the House Robot Battle has been replaced...by something even more exciting.

                HOUSE ROBOT REBELLION

Plunderbird 5 vs Stinger vs Scorpion vs Behemoth vs Gravity.

All five robots have been assigned a House Robot. The five will first fight each other in three annihilator style battles until only two are left. These two will fight together against their chosen House Robots.

Not sure when this will be added, but until next time.

Robot Wars Extreme: The Bets Are On

Welcome back to Robot Wars Extreme, that ever battle-hungry tribute to what is arguably a great cult show. Today sees the first of three annihilators. Lets check out the competitors.

FROM HEMEL HEMPSTEAD IN HERTFORDSHIRE; BEHEMOTH
A huge truck like robot and a real veteran of the wars, this robot is not to be under-rated by any means. Well, how many robots do you know that can take on Hypno-disc and receive minimal damage? Behemoth is a six-wheel drive machine powering to speeds of 12mph, with its main weapon being a titanium bucket scoop, coupled with a nasty axe to grapple and damage. Its strong, and almost unbeatable...at least it would be if it didnt have so many reliability problems.

FROM OREGON IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA; FLIPPA
Having come just about the furthest of any robot in the competition today, it doesnt really want to disapoint. This low box wedge is a tough little cookie, hard to attack and with multiple weapons. At the front is a flipper which acts as a srimech, and on the back is a spinning drum. This is all very good...as long as it works, and Flippa is VERY unreliable.

FROM THE ISLE OF SHEPPY; MAJOR TOM 3
No ground control needed, or used. Major Tom 3 is your classic box wedge shape complete with two nasty grabbing spikes, which can lift as well as grab. It is invertable and painted in Union Jack colourations, but it doesnt take kindly to flippers anyway, ESPECIALLY if it goes out of the arena.

                  FROM WORCHESTER; PUSSYCAT
...But I must warn you, hes anything but cuddly! This interesting pyramid shaped robot is one of the oldest robots around, and still fairly successful. Its weapon is a double edged eight toothed blade capable of some very nasty damage. And if that wasnt enough, the position of its wheels allow it to run any way up, hence its name. All in all, a very strong contender, but its wheels are exposed and the ground clearance is too high.

FROM COLEVILLE IN LEICESTER; RAGING KNIGHTMARE
...and oppodents may well end up having one. A semi-finalist in the 7th wars, Raging Knightmare is a tough armoured bot with a sleek design, invertable and holding a nasty little flipper that can, and will, flip oppodents out of the arena. It has competed in three wars and three annihilators with this and three previous machines, so it has the experience. However, the flipper only has 30 odd flips, it has to win quickly.

                  FROM TIVERTON IN DEVON; ROBOCHICKEN
You feeling clucky tonight? OK, I probably shouldnt have said this. Of course, this robot looks like a giant chicken, complete with boggle eyes and a rubber glove for a crest...put what a chicken it is! The front has a massive flipper that can, and does, throw, the back has a vertical saw blade. It also has durability and determination on its side, which helps massively. Im not too sure about its self righting abilities though.

                  ROBOTEERS, STAND BY.

BOOTH 1: Behemoth, Flippa and Raging Knightmare.
BOOTH 2: Major Tom 3, Pussycat and Robochicken.
HOUSE ROBOTS: Dead Metal and Growler.

                  3...2...1...ACTIVATE!!

Now, first things first, is...oh, yes it is! Flippa is actually working. Well, I never thought Id say THAT anytime soon. However, its been flipped by Raging Knightmare, who was the most successful of these robots in Series 7. Flippa manages to self-right with a great big bound, and gets away. Meanwhile, Behemoth is trying to shunt Major Tom 3 into touch. Major Tom moves away, albeit sluggishly. Behemoth nudges it again...oh, and chops the head into little pieces with the axe. He he. I love it when that happens. Major Tom, hes a great comedy robot, as is Robochicken, who is flicking up Pussycat. The two did fight before back in Series 4, where Pussycat was the victor, but this Robochicken is a very different breed altogether. Pussycat now coming back on the attack with that double-bladed eight-toothed saw, cutting into the side of Robochicken, nothing more than a little gash at the moment. Flippa, meanwhile, has rammed Raging Knightmare into the arena wall, as Behemoth turns Major Tom over in the background. This is rather strategic behaviour from these robots. Theyre breaking this annihilator into 3 mini-battles. They obviously have a good deal of respect for each other... or not, as Behemoth SLAMS Major Tom into the arena wall. It manages to get away, but right into the path of Raging Knightmare, who is trying for another attack on Flippa! This little blockage shakes the former semi-finalist off balance, so now, for a bit of revenge, he smashes Major Tom into...and ONTO...the arena wall. Major Tom is now stuck, as Pussycat comes in with the saw blade, cutting it down to size a bit. Flippa, meanwhile, tries to take a bite out of Robochicken, but misses, and gets a piece of blade for its troubles. Major Tom is still stuck. Behemoth comes up to it...AND FLIPS IT OUT! All gone.

                  CEASE!!

                  Major Tom has been ANNIHILATED!

Next time, the five remaining robots fight it out.

Just so you know in advance, Ill be doing three fights in the next batch, which I hope to do soon. However, only one of these will be a full fight, the other two will be just a basic description (like Kat 3 vs King B Powerworks earlier on). Youll see why once I actually write them up.

For the sake of getting something down before the month ends, heres a (pathetically short) fight. But in full.

BEHEMOTH vs FLIPPA vs PUSSYCAT vs RAGING KNIGHTMARE vs ROBOCHICKEN

                        ROBOTEERS, STAND BY.

                        BOOTH 1: Behemoth, Pussycat, Robochicken
                        BOOTH 2: Flippa, Raging Knightmare
                        HOUSE ROBOTS: Shunt, Growler.

                        3...2...1...ACTIVATE!

And off they go. Behemoth clashes right into Pussycat this time, whilst Raging Knightmare decides to attack Robochicken, flipping it up, but not over, whilst Flippa is doing...err...come on, Flippa is doing...*groan*, dont tell me theyve broken down AGAIN!? Theres certainly no movement in Flippa...AS RAGING KNIGHTMARE FLIPS ROBOCHICKEN COMPLETELY UP AND OVER! Now, can they self-right? Im not too sure they can with that head in the way. Not that it matters, of course, because Flippa is already being counted out by Refbot. What a shame, but lets face it, we all knew it might happen.

                        CEASE!

                        Flippa has been ANNIHILATED.

In the fights Ive seen it in...yes. In neither of its televised fights did Flippa actually get moving after ACTIVATE was called. I was actually being generous in the first annihilator battle.

Try writing a novel on this. You could make a fortune, make sure that you add pictures as lots of writing in books always makes me sleep.

Its hardly that sort of thing you could write as a novel. Besides, I have my own stories as it stands.
