Oooh, the plot thickens. Great choice of arena for two powerful flippers...

Im going to stay away from the pits, and try to give the Matador a lesson in how to fly. And land, painfully. Youchies.

I like thick plots, so hard so stir and makes lovely fuel for the plot-cannon.

Thin plots are better. They pour easier, and give a better spray when launched from the plot cannon

            • The Fowler Fic War Series 3

Welcome, after a long pause, to the 2nd round of Heat 2 of The Fowler Fic War series 3, where today we have 2 battles, hoping to find out whether real robots or vapourbots are the cream of the crop.

First into the arena, for the side of the Vapourbots, is Stratos-Fear. Scott€™s hurler fought his way easily through the first round with very little damage, and is hoping to repeat the trick here.

Following him in for the side of the realies is his fellow tosser (Pardon the pun) The Matador. He too made his way through the first round without too much of a problem, but it€™s now time to say if he can make it through round 2 as well.

Let€™s go over to The Traps for the first time to see who can fight their corner better.

Both machines run tentatively out of their respective starting positions, circling each other slowly. The Matador quickly makes a beeline for Stratos-Fear€™s side, slotting the flipper underneath and firing, only to realise that he wasn€™t on properly, and as a result, he just gently teeters into the air, before falling once more. This does give Team Inertia Labs creation€™ the advantage, as they are now able to repeat the process again, this time more successfully as he slides underneath the side, shoving him a short distance before firing him through the air onto one of the trap doors in the arena. Scotty boy breathes a sigh of relief, as just as the timer hits the 3os mark, one of the pits is released, but fortunately for him, it€™s one of the ones on the other side of the arena. Immediately wanting revenge on his American compatriot, he slides across the arena, and slots his ultra low wedge underneath the high side ground clearance of The Matador. Shoving him to the side, he fires the flipper, with the vain hope of getting him out over the slopes. He actually gets closer than he€™d have expected, getting him about four-fifths of the way up the 1m slope, but he rolls back down, co-incidentally just as the trap door that Scott was on before opens. The Matador runs away, carefully avoiding the nearby opened trap, but it€™s not long before Stratos-Fear catches him and throws him into the air again, sending him flying high into the air. If he could get the height and distance balance sorted, he€™d probably be capable of getting robots out of this arena. The Matador fires his flipper and does a very stylish and graceful flip back onto his wheels, before driving straight back at Stratos-Fear, just as yet another trap door opens in the arena. The Matador shocks the crowd, Scotty Boy and even himself as this latest charge brings him underneath the front of Stratos-Fear. Trying to repeat his compatriots€™ attempt at ejecting him from the arena, he shunts him to the sidewall and tries to muster up the power to get him out. Height wise, he€™d probably have succeeded, as Stratos-Fear soars well in excess of a metre up into the air, but he couldn€™t combine it with the distance as Stratos-Fear falls with a thud onto his back before firing his own flipper and sending himself flying in a 360 degree before landing on his wheels to the tune of the opening of yet another trap door. Stratos-Fear knows that the way this fight is heading, it€™ll end up climaxing in a very tight judges€™ decision, and so in order to prevent this form happening he has to get a move on and dispose quickly of his Yank compatriot. He shunts into the high side ground clearance one more, this time not bothering to go to the edge to fire the flipper, instead just launching him in the centre of the arena. This all happens just as the 5th trap door is open, and it become the 4th to open on the left hand side of the arena where most of the action is taking place. Scott sees this as a good opportunity to try and finish off his opponent, and so slides underneath his overturned carcass, only for The Matador to spring up and over from off the flipper, landing on the ground on his wheels. He runs away again from Scott€™s Scot machine, doing a little dance in between the open pits that are dotted around the place. Scott follows, but apart from one small slip over pit 3, doesn€™t even look like making the mistake of driving in. Pit 10 opens at this point, leaving pits 2, 6, 8 and 9 still to open. Mr. Anderson darts into the centre at this point, expecting The Matador to follow him, which he duly does. The Matador does manage to slide underneath Scott€™s machine once more though, much to his surprise, and once again throws him onto his back. Then, before he can self-right, he throws him again, flukily leaving him on the edge of the open pit 7. He expects him to try and move away, but he doesn€™t, and so thanking his lucky stars, charges in, dropping him into the pit below.

              CEASE

Me- Stratos-Fear got sucked into one of our very own black holes, whilst The Matador turns in an out of this world performance.

As it was, it turned out that the reason for Stratos-Fear€™s lack of movement was caused by the aerial snapping off after the impact of the last 2 flips.

Next up in the war zone is the 2nd 2nd round battle between Chris Mason€™s DieCeratops Invertus and the 20th seeds Razer.

Both took very little damage in their conquering of their first round opponents, so let€™s see if they do any more damage to each other now.

Let€™s head over to Le Rip-Off to find out the winner of this match.

              3€¦
              2€¦
              1€¦
              Activate!

DieCeratops Invertus makes the quicker start, but Razer catches his wits just as quickly, using his superb manouvreability to traverse out of the way of the oncoming lifter and around the side. DieCeratops Invertus tries to respond to the response, but Razer responds to the response of the response and moves again to address the attack. Then knowing he has the dominance, he slides the wedge underneath and brings down the beak of doom. It goes straight into the gap around they tyres, widening it and probably impacting on the tyre at the same time. He releases it, but before Chris€™s machine can escape, shuffles forward, bringing down the beak down again, this time getting the tyre, which slowly deflates under the pressure. Knowing that he now only has ¾ drive, Chris panics and the second Razer lets go charges across the arena away from him. This just allows Razer to follow him and puncture the same tyre on the other side. Chris tries to escape but his lack of manouvreability counts against him as Razer just slides straight underneath the rear end, puncturing the other tyre. He promptly drops him to allow him to escape, only for DieCeratops Invertus to do a weird, alternative hop on his flattened pancake tyres. Razer knows that the fights not over until he€™s dead, and so, knowing he can€™t use the door, go for the aerial. Charging over, he goes to the rear, and crushes down, only to narrowly miss, instead making a nice hole in the 8mm titanium. Another shot, but this time he over-compensates, missing by a similar distance on the other side. Chris seems to know what Aaron and his Razer boys are doing, and so don€™t make an effort to escape. Third time lucky works for Aaron as he slices down, inserting the crusher tip into the aerial slot, ripping away the receiver, and dropping DieCeratops Invertus out of the competition through knock out.

              CEASE

Me- Is it a co-incidence that both robots lost because of aerial failure? (This wasn€™t planned beforehand) DieCeratops Invertus strolls into extinction, whilst Razer raises the roof and the heat final draw.

The Matador has a VERY VERY good flipper, 5times better then WBC to say the least, but it has a lot of troubles with reliability with the IFI modem controller and has exposed wheels and flat box sides. Perfect for RAZER!

Ill do my best here. This is a truley great tourny and id hate to see it go to waste. Well miss you, Mr. Fowler. *Raises glass*

                      HEAT 2 FINAL:
                      Razer(20) VS The Madator
                      3...2...1...Activate!
Madator, with the better drivetrain, easily gets to Razers side and sends him HIGH into the air! Razer lands down on his side with a crash! Aaron easily self rights, however, and comes back on the attack!
Scott turns, but Razer is already at The Madators front, so its a matter of whos lower now. The two drive under, and the one lower is...Razer! Scott is in disbelif as Razer chomps down on the arm, and goes right through the spatula of the arm! Scotts flipper is damged, but can still fire.
Aaron tries to damage Madator further, but Scott gets away and activates the pit! Aaron has no intentions of going down, however. Scott goes to Razers side as fast as Madators drivetrain will let him, but seeing as how Madator was too far from Razer, Aaron has time to turn, btu dosent see Scott turning again!
Madator launches Razer high up again! Razer lands with a crash on its side, and self rights again! This time, Razer manges to get to one of Madators wheels! The claw goes straight through the wheel as if it were nothing! Scott is gritting his teeth; he knows Aaron has the upper hand here.
Razers claw retracts, and Scott is doing anything he can to keep control and flip Razer again, hopefully to score points to make up for lost ground! But its no use, as Razer gets right into the back of Madator, who cant turn quite as well with the ruined wheel and sinks his claw into the armor...WHOOSH! There goes the CO2 tank hissing out CO2 like crazy!
Scott knows theres no hope left for him as Razer gets to the side, and Scotts vailent attempt to face him fails as Aaron gives Madator a pinch to lose a inch, and Madator has a huge hole in the side! This is pure carnage! Aaron decides to let the suffering end and pushes Madator into the pit as Scott puts down his controller.
                      CEASE!
Razer advances to the semifinals to join Leprosy Infection!

Heat 3: Coming most likley next wendsday.
Barbarious 2 (4) VS Vampire Twins
Gemini VS Denial [to be witten by scott, I wont write my own fights]
Glasglow Kiss VS Seggy the 3rd (19)
