Actually Im not sure how those would work anyway. I mean the counterweight would need to be at the other side of the wheels, meaning it grounds itself.
If youre thinking of having dual wheels, and the counterweight between the wheels, dont forget the protector would need to be twice as wide in order to protect both wheels, so the protection plate will likely end up heavier than the counterweight.
Sorry for the long delay everyone, Ive been falling asleep to early. Im afriad im going to save you all from boredom and anticpation by skipping todays intro, and getting on with the fight.
House bots: The Evil Disemboweller and Ringlets
3...2..1..ACTIVATE!
Grabbit Advance immeditly shoots off form the start and tries to get under Call Out Hook, but Call Out Hook, with the better speed, turns to face Frank in time and starts hammering away. Frank backs off in time, and only a few small gashes are visible.
Points right now are definitly towards Call Out Hook though, so Frank tries again, and Martyn rejects the attempt again! More dents in Grabbit Advances armor. Frank tries one more time...and again! We can now see a really nasty carved up top on Grabbit Advance,
and Frank is getting really frustrated now. he charges in again, and this time, Martyn dosent see it coming and Frank gets under! Frank wants to jump all the way to the moon, but hell have to hold it for the time being. Grabbit Advance pushes Call Out hook right into Ringletss CPZ! Ringlets drives right into COH and sends him flying out, and right onto the flipper!
While the side isnt looking too good on COH, the flipper fires anyways, sending COH into the air and landing down on its back. It should self right soon, but whats this? The axe isnt moving one bit! Not rotating the turret, not firing, not doing anything! Donald Trump-ire gives a pinch to grow a inch for good measure, then starts counting down as the hosue robots drive out of their CPZ! Martyns face goes pale as hes tempted to give the finger to the guys driving the house bots,
as meanwhile, A fight is breaking out in the arena more voilent than a episode of Jerry Springer! Ringlets gives COH another good WHAM for measure, tossing it right into the wall, where it has a hard impact, and the Evil Disemboweller drives over and uses the forks to lfit up COH into the disc of doom...WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!!!!! Right onto the tire, tearing it in 2 and hitting soem of the drive motor too, COH goes flying as Martyn has a mixture of laughtuar nd tears from seeign his machine banged up so badly, as COH lands right on his wheels! Yes, the tire is torn up, Yes, one drive motor is dead. But its still going, though not very fast at all. So Donald Tr-umpire stops counting down the timer [which WAS at 9] and leaves COH to be.
When hes done laughing his ass off, Frank drives COH into the pit trigger, and then pits the poor thing, putting Martyn out of his misery!
CEASE!
Its amazing how one push into a house robot can make you lsoe the whole match! Grabbit Advance and Frank take the final spot up for grabs!
The draw:
Gemini VS Vampire Twins: Classic Arena
Glasglow Kiss VS Grabbit Advance: Le Rip Off
*MXC voice* Get it on! *MXC Voice*
My tactics: Well, im pretty much screwed. Just make the both of them gang up on one of them and OOTA it or pit it. Repeat for the other after the first one is disposed of. I belive were using the %100 for multis, but I dont belive Matt specicifed]
Apologies for the always terrible spacing, but I have to write these on wordpad. :P
Our pushing is equal, but I have three advantages:
1) We use equal armour. However, I can damage him but he cant damage me much unless he gets a lucky blow in, due to the vast differences in power between pnumatics and hydrulics.
2) The weird shape of Glasgow Kiss will be easier to get under than Call Out Hook.
3) Hes using two pnumatic cylinders on 1000 PSI. That axe is going to run out of power very VERY quickly.
So tactics: Drive straight at him and tip him over. I dont care if I take a hit or two. When he self rights, just keep tipping him over. I give that axe 10 hits, 15 tops before it doesnt have enough power left to self right, and one more tip over will finish him. Like with Wheely Big Cheese, the first few blows will be the most powerful and every one after that will be kinda pathetic.
Name: Supreme Glory Gamma (Replacing Supreme Glory Beta)
Weight: 100kg
Armour: 20mm Lexan and LexiGuard compound
Speed: 8mph
Shape: Pyramid shaped
Weapon 1: An 11kg Aluminium alloy axe powered by a 60v Etek, capable of generating 3Kj of force per hit.
Strengths: Strong armour and very manoeuvrable.
Weaknesses: Axe only works if something is in front or behind the robot.
Ground Clearance: 0mm all around due to skirts.
Srimech: The axe self rights the robot.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 x 800watt 36v DC motors giving 8mph top speed. The 2 wheels are made from Ti/V alloy and coated in Vulcalore to aid in traction. The robot is covered in 25mm Lexan and LexiGuard compound. The axe weighs a total of 11kg and is shaped like Excaliburs axe from series 3 of Robot Wars. This shape is designed to focus all the force on a single point, meaning it can pierce through armour easily. The axe can give 3Kj of force per hit, roughly the same as Beta. The tips of the axe are covered in a thin layer of carbon, so if it fights a robot with Titanium armour, it can get through the armour even easier. To stop the robot from hopping about when the axe is fired, the robot incorporates a vacuum system. This can be switched on and off during a battle to allow for manoeuvrability and superior traction when static. The skirts on SGG are made from Grade 5 Titanium and are held in place by hinges.
Name: Squishiest
Weight: 100kg
Armour: 4mm Grade 5 Titanium
Speed: 20mph
Shape: Low wedge
Weapon 1: A very powerful hydraulic crusher, with 14 tonnes of pressure at the tip.
Strengths: Very powerful crusher and strong armour. Good pushing power and good speed.
Weaknesses: Slow srimech.
Ground Clearance: 0mm at front due to wrinkler device. 5mm at sides and 1cm at back.
Srimech: It uses a set of Razer style wings.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 LEM130 Lynch motors running at 36v, giving 20mph top speed and pushing power equivalent to 18HP. The robot has 6 inner Vulcalore wheels, which give tremendous traction. The crusher itself is made from 4mm Hardox, with 300 weight reducing holes. It is powered by an M-Mac M40 Hydraulic Actuator running at 12v, which can give 14 tonnes of pressure. The actuator has already been used in Robotic Combat, so this robot is realistic. The tip of the crusher is coated in carbon, so it can rip through Titanium easily. For the weapon to function properly, the robot contains 77 AA size M batteries, which in total will generate 115.5v of power. stares
Name: The Deflesher
Weight: 100kg
Armour: 6mm Aluminium
Speed: 20mph
Shape: Invertible box that is wider than it is long.
Weapon 1: A reversed horizontal crusher. See Notes.
Strengths: Very cool weaponry, potential to be devestating.
Weaknesses: Untested weapon and exposed wheels on top.
Ground Clearance: 3mm at front. 0mm at sides and rear due to skirts.
Srimech: Invertible.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 LEM 130s running at 36v. Each of the 4 wheels is coated in Vulcalore, to aid in traction. The main weapon is the reversed horizontal crusher, which forms a spike at the front of the robot. When the spike goes in, the robot will push the opponent into the arena wall. Once the opponent has been cornered, the crusher arms are activated hydraulically on 5000psi to open outwards. The arms are made from Aluminium Boron Carbite, and are reinforced with Titanium and Steel. The front spike which is formed by the 2 crushers is made from Hardox, with a diamond coated tip. The force when the claws are moved apart from each other should be able to make the damage greater so the claws can get in deeper into the electronics. The side and rear skirts are hinged, and are made from 4mm Titanium.
Name: Manic Monsoon
Weight: 100kg
Armour: 5mm Hardox all over.
Speed: Roughly 28mph
Shape: Box wedge with side skirts and rounded back.
Weapon 1: A linear actuator powered lifter running by a 4 bar system at 24v. This can lift 200kg easily.
Weapon 2: A small strip of Grade 5 Titanium on the front wedge, which gives 0mm ground clearance.
Strengths: Powerful drive and good strong weapon
Weaknesses: A bit too fast and hard to control when at full speed.
Ground Clearance: 0mm on front and sides, 1cm at back.
Srimech: Invertible, but can self right using the lifter if wanted to.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 B42-500 MagMotors running at 60v. This gives Monsoon approx 60HP! The robot has a total of 6 wheels, 3 on each side. Each side is linked together by a set of heavy duty belts, giving 0m turning circle and the manoeuvrability of a 2 wheeled bot, and each wheel is coated in Vulcalon. The front wedge is angled at 42.5 degrees, meaning that it is not too steep or too shallow. The lifting arm is powered by a S28-150 MagMotor, and is made from 7075 Aluminium. The lifter itself can lift a total of 200kg, and can self right the robot if needs be. The side skirts are made from 4mm Titanium and are hinged.
Name: Dervish \//
Weight: 100kg
Armour: 10mm Aluminium Boron Carbite, with 5mm Lexiguard inside that to protect electronics.
Speed: 18mph
Shape: Invertible cylinder, like Barberous
Weapon 1: Spinning body which spins upwards, so it can flip its opponents.
Strengths: Powerful weaponry and very manoeuvrable
Weaknesses: Exposed wheels.
Ground Clearance: 7mm all around
Srimech: Invertible
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 S28-150 MagMotors, giving the robot a top speed of 18mph. Both wheels are based around Stinger, but have Vulcalore trims to aid in traction. The spinning body is made from 10mm Aluminium Boron Carbite, with 5mm Lexiguard inside that. The spinning body has Carbon tipped blades and Grade 5 Titanium blades attached all over it, so it can destroy all matters of armour. The body itself is powered by 2 LEM 130s running at 36v. This means the drum spins at approx 2500RPM. This should be enough power to destroy a robot in a matter of seconds.
Name: Wheely Pure Evil 2 (Thanks to Aaron for flipper rams and armour)
Weight: 100kg
Armour: 6mm Aluminium Boron Carbite (slightly heavier than Aluminium, but harder than Tungsten)
Speed: 18mph
Shape: Low invertible wedge
Weapon 1: Top hinged flipper powered by a 80mm pneumatic ram, working at 1000psi fixed on top of the robot. At the bottom of the flipper there is a 5mm Grade 5 Titanium wedge extender, designed to get under any ground clearance.
Weapon 2: Top hinged flipper powered by an 80mm pneumatic ram, working at 1000psi fixed on the underside of the robot.
Strengths: Powerful weaponry and tough armour.
Weaknesses: Exposed wheels on top and limited CO2 on board.
Ground Clearance: 1cm at the back, 0mm on sides due to side skirts and 0mm at front due to flipping plate.
Srimech: Invertible.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 S28-400 MagMotors running at 24v, which give 18mph top speed. The flippers are made from 4mm Aluminium Boron Carbite, and powered by 80mm pneumatic rams working at 1000psi due to Nitrogen. Each flipper can flip roughly 2500kg each. However, due to the flipper set up, the robot can flip roughly 5000kg! The robot has hinged side skirts, to stop robot getting underneath. The skirts are made from 3mm Aluminium Boron Carbite, and are hinged so they run upside down. The flippers can be fired at the same time, or independently.
Name: Sonic Boom
Weight: 100kg
Armour: 1cm thick Hardox wheel hubs, 5mm Hardox axe head and 5mm thick axe pole. The axle joining the 2 wheels is made from 6mm Titanium and Vanadium alloy.
Speed: 28mph.
Shape: The robot is an axlebot based around Stinger.
Weapon 1: A momentum powered axe, which can come down with 800kgs of force.
Strengths: Hard to grab hold off and very tough armour. Great manoeuvrability.
Weaknesses: Poor pushing power.
Ground Clearance: 10mm.
Srimech: The robot is invertible.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 LEM 130s, giving 28mph top speeds. The wheels are made from aircraft grade Aluminium, with Hardox wheel hubs and thick rubber treads. All the electronics, batteries and wiring are hidden inside the wheels. The 1cm thick wheel hubs should mean that nothing can damage the innards of Sonic Boom. To save weight on the robot, the wheels are only 20cm high, but are also 20cm wide, increasing traction on the arena floor. The axe head is modelled on Stingers axe from series 4 of Robot Wars, but is a lot tougher due to the 50cm, 5mm Hardox axe pole and 5mm Hardox axe head. The axe is momentum powered, meaning that when the robot stops moving from a charge, the axe swings over head and hits what ever is in front of it. This method of weaponry is not accurate most of the time, but when it does hit, it can cause a lot of damage. The 10mm ground clearance all over the robot should stop it getting stuck on arena obstacles.
Hey Dan, just a tip, you might want to replace all your AA sized batteries with C or D cells. As such, youll need around another 10kg or so in all robots for the upgrade, but AA cells will just explode under that kinda stress.
God damn me and my laziness! Apologies for the delay again. Another Intro of nothingness will have to do. ANy complaints, contact this addy:

House bots: Buzz-Flight Gear and Dynamite Tee-Hee!
Enough ridicliousness, onto the fight!
[Note, I am going by Franks theory the axe will not do anything and will have very few fires. Scotts got alot of knowlage and all, btu Franks ran 7 tournys, id expect him to know more than Scott]
3..2...1...ACTIVATE!
Grabbit Advance goes off, charges at Glasglow Kiss and grips and picks him up without even a smidgin of trouble! GK tries firing the axe, but only a few scratches are there! But the last hit leaves a dent in Grabbits body, but its nothing to worry about!
GK is out of CO2 due to the limited supply, and Grabbit rams GK aginst a wall, and its flipped! then, cause we ALL know GK is helpless, Dynamite Tee-Hee comes out unfairly and hits the pit trigger, and Buzz Flight Gear starts pushing from the side.
when Buzz gets to Dynamite Tee-Hee!, quite a nasty dent is in the side, and cause of all the pushing, GK is back on its feet, but it dosent matter, as Dynamite Tee-Hee! impales it witht he lance and then barbaques it! Grabbit decides he wants some of the steak and grips GK and down into the pit it goes, sleeping with Davey Shep-I mean, Jones!
CEASE!
Well, another easy win for Grabbit Advance! Will Franky ever geta challenge in this tourtament? FInd out next on The Super Mario Brothers Super-
I mean, The Fowler Fic Wars Series 3!
Look, dont assume I know everything just because Ive been around forever. Aaron Tom and Nick know more than me, and Ive run more tournies than the three of them put together.
And I know nothing at all, but give the impression that I do to people who dont know much themselves... And Ive probably run close to the nubmer of tournaments of those three too and Ive only run four proper vapourbot tournies, and one was never finished.
