Name: OverDrive
Shape: A very low to the ground box shape with a front wedge
Weight: Approximately 12kg
Dimensions: 450mm x 400mm x 65mm
Speed: Will travel at around 12mph
Turning Circle: Should be able to turn on the spot
Ground Clearance: Around 10mm under the body
Armour: The front wedge is made of 3mm thick Grade 2 Titanium, the top and bottom of 5mm thick Polycarbonate and the sides and back 3mm Aluminum.
Motivation: Driven by four 12v Cordless drills, driving four 85mm diameter Vulcolan treaded wheels. This is driven by a 3000mAh NiCad pack run on 12v. The speed controlling is done by an IBC controller.
Weapons: None, apart from the front wedge and awesome pushing power.
SRIMECH: It runs invertible, however the wedge does not. The IBC automatically re-reverses the controls when inverted, how handy!
Strengths: Can push all the Feathers around fairly easily.
Weaknesses: Wedge won€™t work when inverted, high ground clearence.
Lightweights:
Gridlock
Shape: Basically just a low domed body shell with a flat rim around the circumference at the bottom
Motivation: It uses two inner 95mm diameter red wheels with a rubber grip
Weight: Approximately 25kg
Ground Clearance: 10mm under the bottom rim
Weapon: It€™s a full body spinner; the whole shell spins around and cuts into people using two 1kg steel teeth. The body is spun around using a Briggs and Stratton 12v Starter Motor producing around 4HP with a spin up time under 5 seconds
SRIMECH: It uses a Ziggo style bar
Drive: It uses two Astroflight motors, giving a top speed of around 12mph, to power the motors it uses a 24v 3000mAh NiCD Pack
Turning Circle: It uses tank style steering to turn on the spot with the two wheels
Armour: 8mm steel body shell, but unless the body is stopped not much should damage it
Strength: Powerful spinning weapon, quite quick
Weakness: High ground clearance, dodgy SRIMECH
NAME- Star 69
SHAPE- It€™s a shaped like a five point star but the points are mounted round a inner circle so the points of the star spin round
COLOR- yellow
WEIGHT- 100kg
SPEED- 19mph
TURNING CIRCLE- 0mm
GROUND CLEARANCE- about 9mm but is lower under the bottom teeth where it is about 3-4mm
ARMOUR- it has 4mm grade 5 titanium
MOVEMENT- it uses 6 inner storm 2 wheels
DRIVE- it uses 2 x lem 130€™s
BATTERIES- 4 x 30 cell 36volt 3ah Sanyo NiCad packs
WEAPONS- as I said it has an outer spinning ring so is a fbs the ring is powered by a C40-500 Magmotor, the points on the star each have sharpened teeth on them and it spins in a clockwise direction, each point has 3 teeth on it, one on the bottom for tearing at skirts in wheels, one in the middle for body work and that, and one at the top for aerials and tall robots and also used for bottom teeth when flipped
SRIMECH- Invertible, points and blades stop it from sticking on side
NOTES- according to frank the name is rude, first star shaped robot
STRENGTHS- Powerful weapon and drive
WEAKNESSES- it€™s a bit random
Yes, as I think Anarchy system counts as shuffling, anyone using it doesnt get the 50% bonus. Apart from that, everything entered looks OK.
Andy, while youre not as bad as Scott in that regards, you still have a habit of forgetting to enter sometimes. Therere still spaces open, so its no problem though.
Its usually me waiting to see the rest of the competition entering before I plan my team, but I see what you mean. If all my enteries are OK I guess Im safe anyway.
ok achilles: couple of inches shorter, armour is now 6mm ABC, if i havent already mentioned it on the stats the weight saved from the hook durign the phuematic setup is used for a t-shaped bar for self rightign to save on gas. Wheels are 50% wider but 10% shorter for extra traction.
The robot also sues the same motors as baldur if it doesnt already, i cant remember. Skirts are 4mm hardox. claw is slightly larger. Think thats it.
The stats for Orka MK3 (I decided to stick with MK3 until it loses VFT), DCI and CF2 will be up soon, but Id rather get Crush 2 up now. If any of my robots are going to get a BIIBI, its Crush.
Anyways...
Name-Crush 2
Weight-100 kilos
Shape-Wedge with rounded top.
Speed-9 mph
TC-0
GC-4mm (I know, suicide)
Armour-3mm Hardox
Power-3x 12v batteries
Wheels-2 small inner
Weapons-Giant Crushing Arm, shaped like ROCS, but with the power of Razer, if that gives you a clue. It comes down at about 8 tons PSI. Roughly. The claw is connected to a lifter, able to lift its own weight
Srimech-A single, Mantis like Roll-bar rolls the robot back over. The shape and lifter take over should said bar get bent.
Other notes-Because of the weight, This robot is relativly small compared to some of the others. 600 holes have been drilled in the robots claw, lifter and parts of the body to keep the weight down. The robot doesnt even have a base panel!
Strengths-Armour and Weapon
Weaknessess-Lack of power and speed.
1) 3 mm Hardox doesnt exist. The thinnest I believe you can get that stuff is 3.25 MMs.
2) With the 8 tonnes PSI, youre mixing terms. Hydraulics are allowed at a maximum of 3000 PSI, and produce a downforce in the tonnes area depending on what sort of preasure youre using, and what sort of leverage youve got... Thats as much as I understand about hydraulics anyway This isnt a big problem, Ill just put it as 8 tonnes of downforce.
You have also not stated power sources for drive (motors) and your weapon. And as for the baseplate, can you please tell me how everything is mounted?! (cant stop laughing to himself but doesnt know why)
*Note: This is not a rant, or a moan, or insults it is part of I feel like improving Chris vapourbots today.org*
AJ, leave me alone! Every other stupid tournament Ive entered has just had me having to enter a robot and what it has and THATS IT!
I mean, Diotoir moves perfectly fine with the batteries given (same) thank you very much. It always says 3x 12v batteries. Besides, that info wasnt mentioned in the stats, so it just has power.
And AJ, how come you complain about Crush 2 not having a base panel, but not Kronic 2. After all, IT had no base panel in S6, and ITS components stayed inside it.
Leave me alone, Im having a terrible time here, what with bullies at college, and the death of my Grandfather and everything.
Ewe 2 in series 7 and Ruff Ruff Dougal in series 5/6 didnt have a base panel either, and you didnt give me the same grief about My Grain which also didnt have a base panel. In cases like those, innards are mounted to the chasis. You can actually see that when Gemini flipped up Dougal.
I also said in the rules you dont have to state what powers your weapon. It helps, but you dont need to state it, and lose any right to complain if I decide it burns out :P
