  • Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!

Frank, I control Storm 2, Ill take on In-Terror-Fied while you go after Constrictor. Storm 2 should be able to get underneath ITF from anywhere and should easily outpush it. The weapon also shouldnt do much damage to the Storm 2, so I shall aim for it head on and get it down the pit ASAP. If you havent successfully taken out Constrictor. Storm 2 will come in and help.

And no Chris Mason, this time Im not acting over-confident, all these plans are quite arguable. And if you wanna argue it, please use my new arguing thread.

Welcome to VFT6, where weve reached Heat H, and are just about to get halfway through the heats, so lets get on with it!

15th seed The Crashing Bore reached its heat final in VFT5, and put up a good fight against Influenza, but took too much damage and lost the 34-26 decision! This old but still tough Vapourbot is a box with a wedge and an extension to help getting under opponents! Its arsenal consists of a jagged Mousetrap-style blade, a drill that comes out of a hole in the wedge and rear spikes that rest along the floor and can be used as a rear wedge! Hard armour, good pushing power and skirts all around will make The Crashing Bore difficult to knock out!

31st seed Razer has an excellent RW record - 1st in RW5, 2nd in RW6, twice World Champion and more! Its VFT record isnt that impressive however - two Round 1 losses, a heat final in VFT3, and it was ripped by Influenza in Round 2 of VFT5! Razer remains a wedge robot with a much-feared hydraulic crushing beak, that has wings on the side to selfright the robot, and a winkler on the wedge to get under just about anyone! Razer has skid steering to make it manouverable, but will its outer wheels, though shielded by guards, be vulnerable to powerful spinners?

Constrictor is a newcomer to VFT, after making its debut in RW7 where Tsunami sent it OOTA pretty quickly in Round 2! Its a low octagon-shaped robot with a lifting arm at the front! Constrictor is invertable, and two wheels give it manouverability, but also make it a bit tricky to control - will Constrictor be crushed?

Dantomkia has been in VFT before but never done that well - a Round 1 elimination by Firestorm 3 and Spin Dash in VFT2, out in Round 2 of VFT3 thanks to Behemoth, and immobilised in VFT4 Round 1 by Demonic Element 2 and MOE! However, it has done well in RW, making two semifinals and beating robots like Chaos 2 with its powerful flipping arm! This uniquely shaped wedge-like robot is fast, and as well as flipping, can spin on the spot to whack anyone who comes too close! Will Mike Lambert impress his children with Dantomkia this time?

In-terror-fied, one of only two Vapours in this heat, is a box with sloped sides and a rounded back. At the front are hydraulic clamping jaws that can produce about 7 tonnes of force, and at the back is an equally hydraulic crossbow! In-terror-fied is invertable, fast at 18.6mph and manouverable, but it has poor traction and well armoured machines wont be too terrified of its weapons!

Mortis has never entered VFT before, but is a golden oldie of RW, having appeared in the first four series and reaching a semifinal, two heat finals and one Round 2! Out of retirement for VFT6, Mortis is a tracked robot with a tanto blade that can hit 3 times a second, and a lifting arm! It can selfright using its weapons, but they are a little unreliable, and its tracks could be vulnerable to low spinners!

Storm 2 is a much respected RW entrant, thanks to invertability,a low wedge,a lifting arm and even more speed and pushing power than Tornado! The box wedge won the New Blood Championship and 3rd World Championship in RW, but lost in the RW7 final to Typhoon 2 (I still think it was robbed!) Unfortunately, its performance in VFT isnt fantastic - it lost in Round 1 of VFT3, was beaten in a close match by Forcepower 2.0 in VFT4 Round 2, and then Leprosy Infection and Wheely Pure Evil teamed up to eliminate it in Round 1 of VFT5! Storm 2 will certainly be fuming, and ready to wreak as much havoc as a hurricane on anyone that crosses its path - but will it succeed?

And Tough As Nails is another real robot that has done well in RW but not in VFT - the top 16 in RW, but out in Round 1 of two VFTs! This Dutch robot is basically a giant pincer with two wheels attached - its favourite tactic is to grip opponents and use its excellent traction to show them where the pit is! But its easily flipped, and its tyres have proved vulnerable to spinners in past VFTs!

First up are The Crashing Bore, Constrictor, In-terror-fied and Storm 2!

      3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
The Crashing Bore and In-terror-fied both rounded on Constrictor, as Storm 2 took off into In-terror-fied! Reaching Constrictor and manouvering to get a grip with its jaws, In-terror-fied had to turn suddenly to meet Storm 2 head on! Ramming it in the front, Storm 2 began pushing In-terror-fied, while Constrictor went for the side and lifted it a little, allowing Storm 2 to come right underneath and shove it against the wall! Left alone, Constrictor was quickly attacked by The Crashing Bore, who came straight underneath it and swung its guillotine, which dug into Constrictors top, just missing a wheel! Meanwhile, Storm 2 was already lifting In-terror-fied, taking it into the pit release, swiveling around and dumping its helpless victim in the pit, before returning to help The Crashing Bore with the struggling Constrictor!
The world champion rammed into Constrictors side and shoved, but took The Crashing Bore with it, forcing the 15th seed to release its guillotine! But a moment later, Constrictor was pinned against the wall and on top of Storm 2, and The Crashing Bore moved in to bring its guillotine down again, now burying it in Constrictors left wheel! It proceeded to drag Constrictor off Storm 2, who wasnt happy and came out to rejoin the fun, giving Constrictor a knock. Once The Crashing Bore had retracted the trap again, Constrictor was struggling to manouvre with its squashed wheel, and couldnt escape Storm 2 getting under it again and delivering it back to The Crashing Bore! This time, the jagged blade hit the wheel and the armour as well! Constrictor was pinned for a moment, before being released again and then having the blade brought down on it for a fourth time, causing more armour damage! The Crashing Bore retracted its guillotine, and Constrictor was suddenly driven away by Storm 2, rammed forcefully into the wall and sent ricocheting off! Both robots moved to resume their attack, until it was clear that the guillotine had left Constrictor stone dead! Storm 2 did a fast victory spin, while The Crashing Bore did a more methodical one!
      CEASE!

      Constrictor and In-terror-fied are eliminated!
THE CRASHING BORE AND STORM 2 GO THROUGH TO ROUND 2!

Now VFT6s only all-real-robot melee, featuring Razer, Dantomkia, Mortis and Tough As Nails!

      3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Razer came straight towards Tough As Nails, who was wheeling towards Mortis, along with the faster Dantomkia! Once Dantomkia was there, Mortiss tanto blade began whacking away, leaving scratches along Dantomkias side until it had overturned Mortis! This provided the perfect oppotunity for Tough As Nails to capture Mortis as it was selfrighting and try to snap the tracks! But Razer was now approaching from behind, forcing TAN to turn away from it, but Razer also turned and prepared to crush the rear ram - until Dantomkia suddenly attacked TAN and Mortis and flipped them on top of Razer! Tough As Nails quickly turned itself off Razer, still gripping Mortis, and as the 31st seed was following it to attack, Dantomkia attacked faster and flipped TAN again, then began running it towards the pit release! As it was turning the TAN-Mortis complex around towards the pit, Razer seized its moment, gripped TANs claw in its own, and dragged it off Dantomkia! Dantomkia quickly followed and lifted the three-robot-group, taking them back into the pit release! Razer was quick to release its grip on Tough As Nails, which allowed it to attack Dantomkia, biting into the shell and carrying Dantomkia away! After a bit of struggling, Tough As Nails touched the floor and quickly took Mortis to the open pit, finally releasing its grip on the RW veteran and removing it from the melee!
Razer had taken Dantomkia to the arena disc, and successfully caused more damage with it, gashing Dantomkias rear! However, once Tough As Nails appeared on the scene, Razer released its victim and charged towards the Dutch robot, trying to get to the rear, but TAN was turning quickly as well! As they turned around each other, Dantomkia advanced to attack Razer side on, and successfully flipped the former RW champ! Tough As Nails quickly took advantage, gripping Razer before it could right itself, then started trundling to the pit release with it, but Dantomkia charged from the rear and took it to the release faster, flipping it against the wall! TAN began using its large wheels to come off the wall, but Dantomkia caught it again and rammed both TAN and Razer into the pit! With Razer and Tough As Nails pitted at the same time, the match would have to be paused!
      CEASE!

Razer and Tough As Nails were removed from the pit, and all three robots were returned to their starting positions.

      3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Razer and Dantomkia both advanced on Tough As Nails, who turned towards Dantomkia! Dantomkia met it in the front and fired the flipper to overturn TAN before the claws could come together! Razer arrived on the scene to grip TAN, but Tough As Nails was able to turn quickly and they ended up parallel to each other - and fair game for Dantomkia, who flipped Razer on top of TAN! A quick shift from Tough As Nails brought Razer into the claws again, and TAN just reversed into the pit release, then carried the 31st seed to the pit! Dantomkia cautiously followed, waited until Tough As Nails had dropped Razer into the pit on top of Mortis, then rammed it in as well, before jumping in itself just for fun!
      CEASE!

      Razer and Mortis are eliminated!
DANTOMKIA AND TOUGH AS NAILS GO THROUGH TO ROUND 2!

        Yes!! Im through, my tactics:

        Dantomkia (me) Vs Storm 2
Storm 2 is to keep away from the front, get underneath the side & pit it immediately!!

Great, now Im back in action!

          Storm 2s Tactics:
I should be able to slide in underneath Dantomkia from anywhere, so get underneath Dantomkia from any angle, and quickly get him down the pit. I should be able to accelerate before Dantomkia gets away, therefore being able to get this done.

Nice fights... Surprised I didnt get bloody Razer again

Against TAN... Not too worried, which means Im going to lose

But seriously, CB may not have anywhere near Storm 2 type power but I should still easily out-shove Tough as Nails. My main target will be to go for the wheels, and try to use the trap to pull his tyres off which will allow me to easily pit him. If he grabs hold of me, Ill shove him around like Storm 2 did in the WCs, and constantly batter the top with the trap. Im not expecting to damage the Hardox much, but my aggresion points should shoot up and I might spark off TANs electrical problems.

            For tother fight:

Storm 2 cant get under Dantomkia from anywhere as it hasa 2 mm clearence at the front. Check Storm 2 out on telly, you can see it. If Datnomkias tactics are clever they could win, but Im expecting Storm 2 to bully the fight.

But Storm 2 easily slid under Firestorm in S7.

From the side. From the front it went straight over the top.

Seeing as I cant see RW7 on TV (I dont live in England or anywhere near that), Im not a genius when it comes from these things.

                    ROUND 2
                    1) The Crashing Bore (15) VS Tough as Nails
The seed to grapple onto TAN (maybe busting the jaws ram if its aims good) and shove it into oblivion

                    2) Dantomkia VS Storm 2
Storm to slip under DTKs side and cast it to the screaming void

Nice stuff as always, Richie. Cmon, the realies!

Hitting the ram with the traps going to be impossible. Maybe the drill can hit it, but Id have to get TAN from behidn so perfectly its not feasible.

TAN doesnt sem able to do much damage to stronger armour, and its got grippers not claws. You suck :P

I think DTK to flip Storm onto its back early on and into the pit.

The Boro to have a good shot onto Tan and remove the aerial.

Plenty of predictions, but which ones were right?

Frank, I may have seen a slight gap between Storm 2s wedge and the floor, but it did get under Firestorms front at least once (there might have been a second time, but it was hard t judge).

Four successful robots in Round 2 - will The Crashing Bore be tough enough to shatter Tough As Nails?

                                3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
The Crashing Bore came straight towards Tough As Nails, who turned into it and clamped the claws together on the wedge and side, without a particularly good grip on its opponent! It began trying to drag The Crashing Bore towards the pit, but The Bore pulled back - this went on for a few moments, until TAN started pushing instead, taking The Crashing Bore round in a circle until the other robot pushed back against it and a back-and-forth contest resumed, where The Crashing Bore was gaining a slow advantage! Finally, TAN released and swerved into the 15th seeds side before the guillotine could come down on it! But The Crashing Bore suddenly reversed, and Tough As Nails was bashed by the blade a second later, hit in the claw and left tyre! The Crashing Bore began dragging TAN, trying to take the tyre off, and succeeding in ripping it! Once the guillotine was retracted, Tough As Nails scarpered, but its wounded wheel slowed it down and The Crashing Bore caught up, attacking with the blade but only hitting the claws again! It retracted, swung, and just glanced the left tyre!
Tough As Nails turned around into The Crashing Bores side again and gripped it - The Bore swung its guillotine but missed! However, it could drag TAN more efficiently now, so TAN released and aimed to ram The Crashing Bore in the side, but The Bore caught it and buried the blade in the right tyre! It pulled, ripping the tyre even more, and then shoved Tough As Nails across the arena into the disc, to cause even more damage to the wheel! The 15th seed then released, and TAN retreated, its right tyre flailing, and as The Crashing Bore rammed it again and struck the claws, it came off! The Bore gave TAN an ineffective prod with its drill, then turned and managed to hit the left tyre with the guillotine! It tugged on it, then released, and shoved the crippled TAN into the wall as the left tyres rubber also flailed! TCB just brought the guillotine into it again, and as it retracted, the rubber came away! Its wheels now barely touching the floor, Tough As Nails couldnt avoid The Crashing Bore carrying it into the pit corner and giving it a good hammering with the guillotine! A few hits struck the claws and did little, until another hit the left wheel, and bent and immobilised it! TCB reversed to survey its handiwork - TAN was now barely mobile! It aimed to hit the right wheel - and the guillotine went into the floor instead! Releasing, The Crashing Bore repositioned and managed to hit home, disabling the wheel and leaving Tough As Nails immobile, apart from some jerking of the claws!
                                CEASE!

THE CRASHING BORE GOES THROUGH TO THE HEAT FINAL!

                                3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Both robots rushed out of their squares and turned to attack the sides of the other! With a long swerve, Storm 2 managed to bring its wedge into Dantomkias side, and then run it towards the pit release - except it wasnt quite pointed in the right direction and they hit the wall! Dantomkia tried to get under Storm 2, but the World Champion intercepted it and rammed it in the side-rear - they still werent facing the right way, so it activated its arm and managed to lift Dantomkia so it could bring the wedge underneath, then turn around and run into the release without Dantomkia escaping! A very fast rush to the open pit sent Dantomkia almost flying into the abyss, and Storm 2 almost running in itself, in one of the quickest battles of VFT6!
                                CEASE!
