Re: Robot Wars: The Legends Return

Well, I suppose the obvious question should be why not that other robot? if it had actually been in the wars....unfortunately, I can't think as to what that robot would be.

    Just saying.

If you refer to Obsidian, Hannibal was by far the better robot. Obsidian just got lucky in the draw during qualfiers I guess.

No, I meant the other robot that the guy who previously had Hannibal had at Series 5 and 6...which I still can't figure out who it was.

The point of the matter is that Hannibal is not a Robot Wars competitor...Obsidian and the unknown robot were.

Chris, Leo, it doesn't matter. Hannibal did not qualify for series 7, but since it went to Robot Wars anyway, I'll allow it. I spent almost all night finding out what its series 5 and 6 versions were, but I couldn't. I'm wondering, so any help?

          There is one more place

I have no idea which robot they used before.

Hannibal was a FP flipper, 100mm bore x 180mm stroke (4 tonnes on 50 bar). The drive was 2 Litton motors on 36V from 3 12V Hawker SBS15 batteries controlled by 2 4QD Pro120 speed controllers. Armour was TI on top and Aluminium 7075 on the sides. The baseplate was 6082 Aluminium.

Re: Robot Wars: The Legends Return

                  Thanks, AJ

                  Here are the lineups!

                  Heat A

Mace II, 101, Diotior, Bunny Attack

                  Heat B

                  Stegosaurus, Splinter, Major Tom, Razer

                  Heat C

Scutters Revenge, Tough as Nails, TRACIE, 259

                  Heat D

Hannibal, Brutus Maximus, Robochicken, Rosie the Riveter II

Hope you like it. This is the lineup for Heat A

                  101 VS Bunny Attack
                  Diotior VS Mace II

For the special event, Chris, can I use one from your Super Seeds championship, please?

Tactics and predictions are welcome. However, I will be spending time on this and the FRFFT world championships. I know Lewis hasn't arrived yet, but I don't want the FRFFT to sink to the bottom of the page. I'll make this as enjoyable as possible, but don't expect loads straight away

The first fight might be up later or tommorow morning

                  See you then

Uh...101 will push Bunny Attack and avoid the hammer (which didn't do anything anyway, heh) and get it down the pit at the earliest opportunity.

                        BUNNY ATTACK'S TACTICS
Maybe, if I tap the right place, I might knock 101 out.

As for the other fight, it'll be whoever flips the other one over first...and I think Diotoir is more likely to do so.

eene, you're more than welcome to use any of my old discontinued ideas if you want to.

Re: Robot Wars: The Legends Return

Welcome to Robot Wars: The Legends Returns. 16 of what you considered to be the best of the best are here to fight to become our new champion!

                          BATTLE ONE

                          From Kettering, in Norhamptonshire, 101!

This robot cost £1 and 1p to build, hence the name. The weapon is a spike powered by a sensor device and the tracks come from a washing machine. They are exposed, though.

From Massachusetts, in the USA, Bunny Attack!

Armed with a 8kg sledgehammer, Bunny Attack isn't as nice as you'd want it to be. They came second in an annihilator in the US Robot Wars, so no limit of experience, but the wheels are exposed and how effective is it?

                          Roboteers, stand by!

                          B1: 101
                          B2: Bunny Attack
House Robots: Sir Killalot and Dead Metal

                          3-2-1: Activate!

Bunny Attack looks very strange, but it approaches 101 from the side, perhaps trying to avoid that spike. 101 turns and pushes into the front of it. The sledgehammer on Bunny Attack seems to be hanging limply and it isn't coming down with much force. 101 pushes it into Sir Killalot! Bunny Attack is no match for the crushing claws of Sir Killalot as he picks it up! The front looks very crumpled on Bunny Attack. 101 looks on. Killalot drops the bunny onto the flame pit! Bunny Attack gets away, but I think its on fire! It crashes into 101 again and pushes it towards the wall. 101 escapes and thinks the side of Bunny Attack is more exposed. Bunny Attack turns to face it and hits it with the sledgehammer. Its not doing too much damage and 101 isn't backing off its pursuit as it shoves it into the pit release button! Bunny Attack pushes 101 away and towards the pit! 101 breaks free from it and heads towards the centre of the arena. Bunny Attack gives chase and crashes into the side of 101 again. I don't see how they can get on top of each other here. They seem to have the same game plan, which is to push each other around. The judges look on. Bunny Attack hits 101 again, but it isn't doing any real damage. Oh! 101 pushes Bunny Attack into Dead Metal this time. Bunny Attack escapes before Dead Metal can do anything. The last ten seconds count down. 101 pushes Bunny Attack towards the angle grinder. The fur looks tattered, but Bunny Attack gets in one last hit with the sledgehammer. 101 pushes it away again. On top at the end, I think.

                          Cease!

A close fight. Two evenly matched robots. The judges will decide on style, control, damage and aggression.

                          101: Style: 2 Control: 2 Damage: 2 Aggression: 3 Total: 9

                          Bunny Attack: Style: 2 Control: 2 Damage: 1 Aggression: 2 Total: 7

The judges have made their decision. 101 go through!

Next, Mace II will be battling it out with Diotior and a special event, with not one, not two, but SIX of the best flippers in the wars. Its our Flipper Frenzy!

                          See you then

Splinter's tactics: Open arms, clamp opponent, use axe on opponent, repeat if necessary, and push it in the pit.

Hannibals tactics, flip opponent, get opponent to arena sidewall and oota it. If it cant then manouvre opponent into the pit.
