Re: Robot Wars: The Legends Return

    I must ask how? Unlike Storm 2, 101 doesn't have a wedge.

Re: Robot Wars: The Legends Return

Did I say they both had wedges? I just said 101 was useless on its back, just like Storm II. :P

And that spike does nothing. Well, it'd do nothing against Hannibal anyway. :P

Re: Robot Wars: The Legends Return

Hannibal, flip 101 oota or in the pit when given half a chance.

Tough as Nails vs Razer, Tan is much better to manoeuvre than Razer, And Razer is not going to penetrate that hardox armour. Digging into the tyres is also useless for Razer as there is no air to deflate. The wheel might have a wobble after a squeeze but that is about it. I give that one to TAN.

Re: Robot Wars: The Legends Return

Welcome to Robot Wars: The Legends Return: The Grand Final.

          BATTLE ONE

          From Kettering, in Northamptonshire, 101!

Powered by industrial motors and made from aluminium. It's armed with a sensor powered spike. Its tracks are made from a washing machine. They are exposed, though.

          From Essex, Hannibal!

A powerful Co2 powered flipper with two wheel drive. The team have been in Robot Wars before, but with another robot. It's quick, but the gas supply is limited.

          Roboteers, stand by!

          B1: 101
          B2: Hannibal
House Robots: Sir Killalot and Shunt

          3-2-1: Activate!

Hannibal charges straight for 101, who gets out of the way. It turns around, but Hannibal gets under the sides and FLIPS it over! 101 can run inverted, though, and it pushes into the side. Hannibal breaks free and flips again! Turning around, 101, to push at the back, but Hannibal pushes back over the flame pit. 101 recovers and hits the side of Hannibal. Hannibal goes towards the pit release button. 101 follows as the pit lowers. Hannibal backs off, but 101 pushes into its side and towards the CPZ! Sir Killalot is waiting and he grabs the back of Hannibal, lifting it up. 101 gets out of the way as Killalot drops Hannibal onto its top! Hannibal self-rights and turns to face 101, getting under and pushing it towards the pit, but 101 escapes to the side. Hannibal counters this and flips! 101 up, but not over. It comes back down and pushes into the side again, taking Hannibal towards the flame pit. Hannibal backs away and 101 gives chase. A good battle being fought here. 101 pushed into again by Hannibal and into Shunt! Down comes the diamond edged axe into the top of 101. Hannibal turns only to get hit itself. 101 escapes and pushes Hannibal into the wall! Hannibal flips itself free, just as Shunt gives it another hit with the axe. OH! 101 gets flipped again against the angle grinder! Will Hannibal get it out? NO! 101 comes back down and pushes into the side of Hannibal, but Hannibal slips under and lifts it up again. 101 stuck on the side of Hannibal, but comes back down to push Hannibal into the angle grinder this time! Hannibal gets free and backs away, pushing 101 aside, but 101 is detirmined to get Hannibal into the pit, or into the angle grinder! Hannibal hits 101 and pushes, but 101 shoves back! The spike isn't doing much, if anything. Hannibal turns to get the flipper under again and tosses 101 into the centre of the arena. The last ten seconds count down. 101 crashes into Hannibal and starts to push it again towards a CPZ! Hannibal escapes and pushes 101 one last time.

          Cease!

A hard fought battle by both robots, but only one can go through to the grand final. The judges will decide

          101: S: 3 C: 2 D: 0 A: 2 Total: 7

          Hannibal: S: 2 C: 2 D: 1 A: 2 Total: 8

Its controversial, but Hannibal goes through to the grand final!

          Next up:

          Razer VS Tough as Nails

Sorry about the shortness of the fight. Did not have much imagination at the time. Complaints, thanks, predictions and tactics will be welcome

Re: Robot Wars: The Legends Return

              Welcome back.

              BATTLE TWO

              From Bournemouth, in Dorset, Razer!

The winners of two world championships, the crushing beak can cause unlimited damage. Its quick, and well designed, but it is unreliable.

From Haarlem, in the Netherlands, Tough as Nails!

A semi finalist in the Seventh Wars, the weapons are two large jaws. Its invertible, very strong, but the wheels are exposed.

              Roboteers, stand by!

              B1: Razer
              B2: Tough as Nails
House Robots: Matilda and Dead Metal

              3-2-1: Activate!

Two similarly matched robots, in that their weapons have the same effect. Razer tries to grab hold of one of the jaws but Tough as Nails pushes it aside. Razer heads towards the back, maybe to pierce the Co2 canister at the back of Tough as Nails. Tough as Nails turns around, but Razer grabs hold again and starts to bring the beak down onto the jaws! Tough as Nails drags Razer around, but Razer won't let go. It has now. Tough as Nails is made from Hardox, which is very strong. I don't think Razer will have much effect on it. Razer turns around to get at the wheels, but Tough as Nails grabs onto Razer and pushes it towards the angle grinder. Razer escapes and pushes Tough as Nails away. Tough as Nails gives chase. Razer presses the pit release button. Tough as Nails crashes into it from behind, but Razer shoves it towards the CPZ of Matilda! OH! Matilda hits the canister in the back of Tough as Nails with her flywheel! The impact sent Tough as Nails flying a fair bit, but it recovers. Razer grabs hold of one of the jaws, but Tough as Nails, with those large wheels, drags Razer along again. Razer pulls back though. Tough as Nails gets free and turns around, but Razer follows and tries to crush the canister! Tough as Nails backs into the crushing zone, bad driving there. Razer pushes it into the wall and starts to render the canister! Tough as Nails tries to get away, but Razer drags it back and pushes it towards Dead Metal! He grabs one of the wheels and starts to cut through the Hardox jaws with the circular saw. Sparks fly as Dead Metal pushes Tough as Nails out of the CPZ! Razer pushes Tough as Nails towards the flame pit! The last ten seconds count down. Tough as Nails grabs Razer from behind, but Razer pushes back. Tough as Nails digs in, holding its ground. A tug of war at the end.

              Cease!

What a battle. The judges will make their decision based on Style, Control, Damage and Aggression.

              Razer: S: 3 C: 2 D: 1 A: 2 Total: 8

              Tough as Nails: S: 2 C: 2 D: 1 A: 2 Total: 7

Razer goes through to the grand final!

So, we have our two finalists. But first:

              Playoff

              101 VS Tough as Nails

              Then:

              Final

              Razer VS Hannibal

Again, how? 101 can run inverted...just LIKE Storm 2...and because, UNLIKE Storm 2, 101 doesn't have a wedge, it has no problem.

I don't see where on earth your logic is coming from.

Funny...I distinctly remember it having some front thingies in Extreme 1 and S5 that looked like WEDGES... :P

                    Oh, those things?

Nah, those things never really did anything. You could see it didn't even need those.

Besides, they weren't its main weapon...that was the spike and pushing power.

                      Meh, it's redundant now. :P

                      101 VS Tough as Nails

I actually think 101 has a good chance here, unless TAN can get in from the sides and crush the tracks...that won't likely happen, so TAN to meet its end down the pit.

                      Razer vs. Hannibal

I don't really like Razer...but...it has a huge chance of winning, sadly. Hannibal's only chance is to keep flipping it from the side and get it out.

The only chance I have if getting Razer off balance as its selfright is slow. I will try to get it oota or in the pit as soon as possible.

Uh...try and avoid the jaw opening (very litle chance of that proving successful but it's worth a try ) and attempt to push TAN down the pit at the first opportunity. Don't shy away from edge of pit battles should that situation arise.

Its a book about prison escapes, Chris. I chose 5 real escapes and wrote a few paragraphs about them in my own words. Not something you'd think I do, but Mum insisted I should finish it.

The next fight will be up later
