Welcome to Heat C of FRFFT: Series One! If you are tired of me saying that, please let me know!
First: The last of our Middleweight battles!
Xianghua II is Kodys entry. It is a box on wheels with a flipping arm at the front. It can run any way up, but if inverted, the flipping arm will be useless!
AJ has entered Typhoon, the current Middleweight Champion of Robot Wars! Its just as destructive as its heavyweight version, but they have the same weakness: No Self-Righting Mechanism!
3-2-1: Activate!
Typhoon gets up to full speed, but Xianghua RAMS into it! And already, Kody has victory in his sights! Sparks fly, but Typhoon is deflected. Xianghua II undamaged. Typhoon spins again and hits Xianghua on the side! OW! A large split has been formed in the Titanium side armour! AJ is on top here, but Kody doesnt want to go out in the first round: again! He backs away to the centre of the arena, but AJ catches up! Not as big a hit, but Xianghua II spun to one side. Typhoon isnt spinning any more. Kody gets the lifter underneath and SLAMS Typhoon into the wall! Will AJ activate the Self Destruct Button? (Whatever that does). Xianghua II backs off. Typhoon escapes, but still isnt spinning. Over the flame pit, but the shell is petrol driven, I should add! AJ might have made a big mistake there! Xianghua II opens the pit release button and down goes the pit! Typhoon is lost. Its driving around randomly, but Kody catches up with it. Hes gotten underneath, will he...OH! After a strong start, Typhoon is in the pit! What a shock! Kody is happy, though. Well done to both teams for a fantastic fight!

There, Kody will meet Hazard and David. He will have to make repairs because it is reported Typhoon almost knocked out the removable link.

Shes hot. w00t. And oh dear, Im up against something similar.
Middleweight Final Xianghua II vs. Hazard
Damnit, Hazard is tough. Not only is it a damn good spinner, but its quite a good pusher too, and it tends to get under other bots. Its pretty much the middleweight realie to beat.
Tactics are to try and get under the rear, wedge it, and then ram it against the wall, to try and kill off the bar, as hopefully Hazard should still be spinning. If I get a chance, lift it onto its back, since it has no srimech. I wont try and lift it while its spinning, as that would tend to be VERY bad for me.
Summary: Get under it, wedge, ram against wall, lift and flip.

Before we continue with the main tournament, lets go to the UK VS USA Real Robot Side Event! This time, the USA will be fighting it out to see wholl meet the UKs Envy in the final
Drillzilla: A fast walking robot armed with tough steel that nothing can get through! Ben R entered it
Voltronic: Entered by Lewis M, an invertible wedge with a lifting arm made from a wheelchair
Surgeon General: Kody Ks entry. It has a large spinning disc that caused heavy damage in Battlebots and might do the same here
Biohazard: Entered by Daniel S. It has a lifting arm that took it to victory FOUR times in the Battlebots Heavyweight Competition
3-2-1: Activate!
Drillzilla STRAIGHT off the mark there! SMASHING into Voltronic and pushing it against the wall! Lewis cant get away! Biohazard is eying out Surgeon General, and goes in for the hit! Kody is uplifted. Biohazard is too low and the disc cant hit it. Over it goes! Daniel backs away to take on the incoming Drillzilla. Ben wants this fight badly, but is lifted by Biohazard! Not over, though. Wheres Voltronic in all of this? There it is, taking on Surgeon General. OH! The disc makes a loud THWACK against the steel armour! No damage, but Lewis needs to get away. Kody is too fast. OUCH! Voltronic is spun away. Biohazard releases the pit! Surgeon General in the grasp of Drillzilla! Ben thinks Kody is the biggest threat here! Biohazard gets under Voltronic and slowly levers it onto its back! The last time they met in Series Five of Battlebots, its what Biohazard did to win the competition! Pushing it against the wall...what was that that went then!? Drillzilla has pushed the Surgeon General down the pit! Kody was on top for a moment, but no longer. Drillzilla pushes against Biohazard! Voltronic is immobilized. It cant get away on its back. Refbot comes in!
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10!
Voltronic and Lewis out! Biohazard lifts Drillzilla, maybe trying to get it out of the arena. It comes back to earth and pushes back! Biohazard in the CPZ. Drillzilla is very persistant! Lifted again, and this time up and over. Drillzilla is invertible, though. Biohazard gets away, but Drillzilla grabs it with the front jaws and pushes it towards the wall! Biohazard cant get away! The last ten seconds count down to the ending of a fantastic ding-dong here! Both robots still mobile, so it goes to the judges!

So the UK VS USA Real Robot Side Event Final looks like this
From what Ive heard, Drillzilla isnt as effective on its back. Flip it, then drive it down the pit. Dont flip it again, stay in the middle of the arena until I get him on his back, you know the whole...drill.
Well, its the end of another heat. But before I leave for another few minuets, Nitro-Gene 5.0 and Fling will fight it out to meet The Hurting in the Heavyweight Final!
Nitro-Gene 5.0 is an invertible box with a flipper. Paul entered it. It is his last attempt to gain success in the series, but if flipped, the flipper will be useless!
Fling is entered by Daniel. It has a front hinged flipper powered by a spring! It makes for more attack energy, but how long will it take for the weapon to retract into place after use?
3-2-1: Activate!
Fling needs to time its flips carefully because the system is slow to reuse. Nitro-Gene 5.0 comes in and FLIPS it over! Already, Fling in trouble. It self-rights, doing a headstand almost, but crashes back to earth. Daniel beings to retract the spring powering the flipper, but Nitro-Gene 5.0 attacks again! Up it goes. Flings flipper hasnt drawn back fully, so it cant self right! Paul goes in for the kill and OH! Fling is out of the arena! Daniel cant believe that has happened and his hopes for the Heavyweight Title go out of the window! Its a quick battle, but Paul isnt complaining. Sportsmanship at the end. Thats what we like to see!

Its Heat D already. Today we have the Superheavyweight battles. First up, Drive and Damn You Wee Rammer
Drive is entered by Joey. It is an eight-wheeled box with a wedge on the front and two spikes. Its main method of attack is to ram the others in oblivion! But how effective will it be?
Damn You Wee Rammer is entered by David. It is a wedge with a spinning drum on the back (Am I correct, if not sorry). It is powered by a petrol engine, but if it goes over the flame pit, we all know what happens then!
3-2-1: Activate!
Drive is straight out and CRASHES into DYWR! David spins away and gets the wedge under Drive. Drive FLIES over the top! Comes back to earth and turns again to face the rear scoop and the drum. David backs into it. The wedge on the front of Drive is torn up a bit, but no other damage. Joey gets under the side and pushes DYWR across the flame pit and into the wall! He backs off and comes in again! DYWR manages to get away and uses its rear scoop again to smash up the wedge of Drive. Joey still has control over DYWR. He pushes it around a bit before letting it go. David drives over to the Pit Release Button! OH! Drive SMACKS DYWR into the wall! Sparks fly as the drum RIPS the front wedge off! What an impact. Joey continues to push DYWR across the arena, but David gets away! Not for long! Drive pushes it over the flame pit! Oh dear! SMASHING it into the angle grinder again and again! DYWR cant get away. Drive has backed off. Maybe it senses DYWR is immobolized. Its moving, DYWR, but not on one side. Drive pushes it against the angle grinder again! Refbot comes in. David was on top for a moment, but it seems he is out! What a shame!
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10!
And DYWR is out! Joey celebrates by ramming it across the arena and onto the floor flipper! How far will it go? OH...not too far, but it lands with a mighty crash! Drive pushes it into the pit. Its all over!

For the heavyweight final...yeah, Im kind of waiting for Paul to post his before I can think of something to counter them. It is kind of dependent on what way he comes at me...
Welcome back! Last time, Drive pushed Damn You Wee Rammer into the pit. Now, we have two real robots!
Toro is Martijns Superheavyweight entry. It was the winner of Battlebots Series Four SHW Competition, and is armed with a powerful Co2 flipper. But the weapon has been unreliable in the past.
Ziggy is Samuels entry. It is a six wheel drive box-wedge with a powerful Biohazard style flipper on the front. But when the Co2 runs out, what else can it do?
3-2-1: Activate!
Ziggy is the more powerful from what I know. Toro scopes it out, but doesnt get away...OHH! Toro is launched two metres across the air and SMASH...lands on its side! It self rights, but Ziggy comes in and throws it against the wall! Martijn is taking a right beating. Samuel waits, maybe giving Toro a chance to fight back, which it goes by flipping Ziggy up, but not over! Ziggy turns around and flips Toro again! ALMOST out of the arena! Toro crashes into its wheels and turns to face Ziggy. It races to the back to get under it and DOES so! Ziggy up...and over! Its on its back, Ziggy. Can it self-right? Yes, it can! But Toro gets under and SLAMS it into the side wall! Ziggy self-rights again and chases Toro into the CPZ! Martijn needs to...TOO LATE! Toro goes flying out! What a powerful robot Ziggy is. I like its chances!

Nitro-Gene 5.0 vs. The Hurting
Well Mr. Connell, what Im going to do is attack your disc side, as your disc will be very nice to hit, as I have a 90* front, which is made of 3.25mm Hardox for the two panels (held on by rubber capped bolts to make them impossible to just break) and a 5mm Hardox flipper, which you wont wish to attack anyway.
Just hit the disc and slow it, then push to the walls with my 12hp, and FA-LIP him out!
Firstly, Drive is 4WD, not 8 as stated.
Secondly...avoid the front, push it around and get it down the pit. Low wide shapes like Drive should tip over if flipped rather than fly well, and this will work to my advantage.
THE HURTING vs. Nitro-Gene 5.0.:
Well, Mr. Cuomo, what Im going to do is start in reverse again and keep the wedge to you while I spin up to buy me time to get to full speed.
And afterwards, if your statistics are to be believed, your flipper has a relatively narrow flat front and runs just over halfway up the body. This is nice for armour but doesnt translate well at all into leverage for flipping, and also makes it easier to avoid, and those sides look awfully tasty for vertical spinners, being pointed like that and all - I dont care how curved your armour is, thats still easy to get a grip on
In short, use the wedge and flipper to keep it away until the disc gets to speed, then turn around and hit it at the sides and rear, avoiding the front, and generally batter it into submission and try to perform an X-Terminator and get it out the arena if the opportunity arises.
MIDDLEWEIGHTS: Xianghua FTW. Despite Kodys determination to the contrary regarding my bots :P
FEATHERWEIGHTS: Quite even actually. If LH can get a hit in to stop the shell, if could be in with a chance, but Deadly LAmpshade should be able to avoid it...I think it might go the the judges, but Dan FTW nonetheless.
Its been 10 days since this thing began! And already were at FRFFT: Series One Grand Final.
First up, the Middleweight Final: Xianghua II and Hazard
Xianghua II pushed Typhoon into the pit after a mighty ding-dong, but took some damage. Kody has repaired it, and is ready for battle
Hazard pulled T-Minus apart within seconds. It took no damage in that battle and David seems confident about this
3-2-1: Activate!
Xianghua II stood up to Typhoon well, but what will Tony Buchanini and David pull out of the hat? OH, THATS WHAT! A large split down Xianghua IIs wedge and part of the side! Kody backs away and turns around to hit Hazard with the rear. David is ready and OUCH! The rear panel is split...and falls off! The power supply of Xianghua II is now exposed to furthur attack from the spinning tool bar! This is why Hazard has won Battlebots Middweight Competition THREE times! Kody activates the lifter to use as a shield against Hazard. Hazard turns and slices through the side! It is largely crippled now, Xianghua II. It doesnt seem to be moving much anymore. Hazard hits the back end...AND THINGS go flying across the arena floor! A battery pack has been smacked open! Refbot comes in. What a display by Hazard!

And Kody is out! He made it this far and there is NO shame in coming second place, or any place for that matter. Hazard comes in again. Xianghua II spun away. Its on fire, I think. The 36v NiCad motors have burned out. Hazards blade spins to a stop.
