      seriously though why bother listing all your vapourbots in the robots section? It does make the forum seem a bit stupid, even from a vapourboteer/fan 's point of view

        I have to agree with Liam there, sorry :P I've got loads of vapours - I still have updates planned for them should they require them - but I don't list them with the altogether more real ones as it'd make the forum look silly.

            Here is my second vapourbot for your perusal, what does everyone think?

            Name: Frustum

            Weight: 90 kg

            Shape: Conical Frustum (truncated cone)

            Colour: Green, White and Gold (well orange)

            Dimensions: 77cm * 67cm * 11cm

            Drive: 2 * C40-300 Magmotors running on 26.4 V with 8 * 10 cell A123 ANR26650M1 battery packs

            Locomotion: 4 * 12 cm diameter 5 cm wide titanium hubbed wheels with rubber coating

            Armour: All over hardox (10 mm forks, 10mm shell, 5mm base and top)

            Speed: 15 mph

            Ground Clearance: 0 cm at the front under forks, 0.5 cm elsewhere

            Turning Circle: 0 cm

            Weapon: 5 cm wide rear hinged hardox lifting arm powered by an S28-400 Magmotor running off of the same batteries as the drive.
            Geared down @ a ratio of ~160:1 to give a 90* lift in under 0.5 seconds and the ability to lift a large amount

            Srimech: The arm is the srimech but has the ability to run inverted

            Notes: This one had a CAD done to make the parts fit and check weights easier

              It's not at all bad, I'm quite impressed

              I'm a firm believer that if you have 10kg free you should do something with it though, that might be something worth thinking about...maybe blades on the sides should you suddenly want to become a not terribly good full body spinner?

                hey guys although i have to many vapours this will be my 1st feather weight vapour

                motors: 2X Astroflight C40 / 15:1 planetary gearboxes / Final drive.. 5mm pitch HTD timming belts 19.2V 3700mAh NiMh Pack
                dimensions: height 10cm width 30cm length 47cm
                wheels: 4 pillow torque wheels
                colour: dark blue with blood red down the middle
                armour: 3mm thick titanium
                weapons:a ramming blade at the front (like pillow tourque) attached to a flipping arm power by a co2 bottle can flip
                up to 75kg
                srimech: invertable but the flipping arm can self right it
                strenghs: fast, good flipper
                weakness: exposed wheels
                bio: my 1st feather design which is essentialy pillow torque but all power up to kick robut

                  What kind of a flipper? What type of ram? what size bottle? High pressure or low pressure?

                    Leo can probably clarify this or otherwise as I've never dealt with pneumatics in a featherweight, but I don't see you fitting all that in those dimensions. As you've said, it's pretty much Pillow Torque, and those sizes are pretty much Pillow Torque's dimensions, and having seen inside Pillow Torque, I'm certain there's no space for a ram, CO2 supply, possible buffer tank and all associated piping.

                    You could maybe fit a 4-bar electric lifter in there, especially if you contain all the gearing and electric motor within the space of the arm, like Storm II did. Perhaps powered by an Astroflight motor running through a custom-built gearbox for example.
