Jack, can you place your stats of Boxx again with all the changes please? It is getting confusing for us if you only post the changes. I think it is best if we focus on Boxx first and on Pic-Axe after we smooth Boxx out.
ok Leo
Name:Boxx
Shape:box
Dimensions:1m(L)0.6m(W)and 0.3m(H)
Number of wheels:4
Make of wheels:go-cart wheels
Drive:2 lem130s
Batteries:a123
Chassis:8mm titanium
Armor:7mm titanium wedge on the front, 5.5mm titanium on the back,10mm polycarb on the sides and 7mm titanium on the top
Weight:98kgs
Ground clearance:0mm on the front,2mm at the back+sides
Top speed:11mph
Strength:fast,good pushing power, invertable
Weakness:when flipped over it has a high ground clearance at the front
Might do with being slightly wider, are you going for a tornado like scale?
Number of wheels:4
Make of wheels:go-cart wheels
This doesnt need to be two separate stats, just have Wheels: 4 x Go kart wheels
Drive:2 lem130s
At what voltage?
Batteries:a123
Youll want a quantity. Chassis:8mm titanium
Armor:7mm titanium wedge on the front, 5.5mm titanium on the back,10mm polycarb on the sides and 7mm titanium on the top Weight:98kgs
Ground clearance:0mm on the front,2mm at the back+sides
Top speed:11mph
Strength:fast,good pushing power, invertable
Weakness:when flipped over it has a high ground clearance at the front
You also dont have any weapons at all now, of course this is your choice and you dont have to, but even some small spikes will cause minor scatches which could tip a close judges decision in your favour.
hi
1.yes i am looking to be about tornado size
2.the motors will be at 36v
3.i will have 3 a123s
4.i will also have a spike made out of 5mm mild steel either side of the wedge
jack
I agree with what Alex and Liam have said. I also would like to add:
36V on A123 is tricky since A123 cells do not work in increments of 12V as the other cells do (1 cell of A123 is 3.3V). The closest you get is 36.3V (11 cells). 6 packs of 11 cells weigh about 5kg including everything. That will be plenty for your robot.
10 mm polycarb is very weak for the sides. It is very lightweight, but vapourbot spinners punch through that like a fist through a sheet of wet newspaper.
I would suggest to make the whole robot Ti, so top, bottom, back, the lot. What thickness I leave up to you.
Robot Name: Sergeant Slaughter
Shape: An elongated pyramid with a very shallow front (like Gabriel II ) and a wedged rear that is angled at 42*
Weight: 100kg
Length: 90cm
Width: 85cm
Height: 20cm
Motivation: 2 x aluminium wheels with vulcanised foam-filled tyres, internally mounted at the rear. It also has a ball castor in the middle of the front point to aid mobility
Drive: 2 x S28-400 magmotors powered by 2 x NiCad battlepacks
Armour: 3.25mm hardox all over the top, 4mm aluminium on the base
Weaponry: A 2D Razer-style crushing beak made of titanium/vanadium alloy with a serrated underside. It is drilled with speed holes and actuated by an M-Mac M40 hydraulic actuator at 2500psi and 12v, this provides 14 tonnes of crushing force
Speed: 15mph
Ground Clearance: 0 at the front, 8mm at sides and rear
Turning Circle: 0
Srimech: On the sides of the crusher there are two Razer-style wings that operate via steel cables joined to the crusher, should right the robot in about 1.5 seconds
Colour: Gold with a red crusher and sapphire self-righting wings
Strengths: Powerful weapon
Weaknesses: Comparatively slow self-righting, ground clearance
Not quite thaty easily Leo, besides, you dont get explosions of sharp shards from a wet newspaper lol.
Anyway, Jack: Your armour distribution is still rather odd. Remember, the top is probably where you need least armour, because you only have to worry about axes and crushers really. The back is second least, front is most and sides second most.
Id personally go with something like...
Front: 7mm titanium
Top: 30mm polycarb
Back/sides: 5mm titaniumm
Can I also add suggest, mention the wedge in the shape too because itll get missed where it is.
For the spikes you probably want just a solid spike of whatever material, unless you mean a rolled spike? (eg like rolling up a sheet of paper into a spike, but with metal?)

Good luck with that, AJ will be beheading you before you know it.
The M40 cannot supply 14 tonnes of force on 2500PSI anyway. the bore of that ram is 40mm so at 172Bar (2500psi) gives 21893.30214 Newtons of force. Thats about 2234 kg or 2.23 Tonnes of force. To achieve 14 tonnes of force on a 40mm bore ram you would need 16170 PSI of pressure.
