  • Eye Of The Robot - Challenge Belt

Hooway! Thisll go great with my Kaiser Chiefs tie.

Flick of the Wrist next. Oh lucky me. Just stay away from the front forks and try to get under the sides. Find the nearest wall and throw it over.
Again, if this proves tricky, try pushing it into the killsaws or flywheels instead.

Alas my vapourbot comrades, I have the next Challenge Belt battle up, and I believe it to be a good piece of wrting, but Im a writer, youre the reader, and so enjoy reading!

          MATCH: FOUR
Wedge Devolution vs. Flick Of The Wrist

          +1>From Glasgow, Scotland, Wedge Devolution!!
          -1>Entered by Steven McGregor
Welcome one of the most simplistic but effective vapourbots ever! It€™s a low, sleek 4mm Hardox protected wedge, powered by 2 x LEM130€™s for 18hp in the drive! 16mph is the speed, and flipping is its need with the classic rear-hinged flipper design The flipper itself is powered by 2 X 80mm high pressure pneumatic rams, each running at 250psi. This should allow Wedge to comfortably flip up to 1000kg at the tips, and performing high 1.5 to 3ft flips on the opposition is highly likely! The 7mm ground clearance is protected on ALL sides by BioHazard style skirts, and a front extension to get under everything from other extensions to skirts! It can self-right easily, but with only 2kg worth of gas on board, it could run out of power quite early!

+1>From Enschede, The Netherlands, Flick Of The Wrist!!
          -1>Entered by Martijn Benschop
One flick of the wrist and you€™re a goner! Flick Of The Wrist is a 6 wheeled, high-powered rammer which uses 2 major weapons - first of all, the B42-500 MagMotors at 48V, providing awesome 35hp and speeds of 22mph to cross the floor quickly. The second set of weapon are a pair of Hardox lifting spikes with the ends tipped with diamonds to make them mega-sharp and have the ability to get under the lowest of skirting. The forks are 25cm each, and can be lowered so they push the whole robot up so it can move on the back wheels, or they can be set parallel to the ground, making them as effective spikes - the whole robot produces 5kj of force when ramming something at full speed, and can cause some damage! Damge is prevented by 7mm Titanium covering every bit of the robot. A 1cm clearance may be exploitative€¦if you can live that long€¦

          Roboteers, stand by!!!

Flick is first off the blocks, spikes parallel to the floor, and Wedge rams headlong, AND BOTH ROBOTS HIT TOGETHER! Wedge storms underneath Flick, but Flick€™s pure speed and traction allow the Dutchman to launch over Wedge! Flick is now behind Wedge, and immediately goes into reverse! Great aggression and driving tactics by Martijn there, as Wedge is revered back - hard and fast - into one of the dangerous flywheels! BASH! The flywheel makes contact on the Hardox flipper on Wedge, but nothing more than some scars are visible on the bodywork, which shows off the strength of the armouy of Wedge Devolution. Flick speeds away from Wedge now, quickly making it into the open arena, and is getting ready to ram into Wedge once more, and now Steven plans to turn aggressive! Wedge storms out into the arena centre, and tackles into Flick from the left-hand side at its top 16mph speed! However, the pure driving mastery of Martijn puts Flick into reverse as the forks lower down, and now their scraping the floor! Steven is still charging though - BAD IDEA! Flick is charging as well, and the impact is massive! Sparks flying everywhere as the two make violent contact, but it seems the mighty Flick has got the forks under Wedge, and ploughs Wedge at enormous speeds, as Wedge flies upwards into the sky! The Challenge Belt holder is thrust onto its side, but self-righted by a flip from its flipper! But Flick still isn€™t happy about this, and Martijn activates the pit now, and now lowers the forks once more intending to get underneath! Wedge is ready to face Flick again as the high-powered rammer storms in, and hits Wedge again, but Steven spins around, and watches the rammer plough into the wall uncontrollably, and now Steven moves behind Flick! Steven presses the flipper button, and Flick Of The Wrist is flicked upwards€¦onto the wall€¦BUT GREAT DRIVING MARTIJN! Flick uses its forks to latch onto the underside of Wedge€™s flipper, as Steven goes into reverse dragging Flick off the wall, and allowing Flick to push him along once more! BANG! Into the wall with a crash! Wedge and Flick are still coupled together, but that blow has released them!
          10€¦9€¦8...
Wedge comes forward as we go into the final 10 seconds, as Flick rams in for another assault!
          €¦7€¦6€¦5€¦
Flick drives into Wedge, but has now driven ONTO THE FLIPPER!
          €¦4€¦3€¦
Wedge moves forward towards the the flipper fires€¦FLIP! BANG! Steven leaps for joy, as his worthy opponent lands outside the ring! The crowd are in shock, but they applaud Wedge Devolution for the last second victory!

          Result:
Flick Of The Wrist is flicked right away from the competition!

This is where it ends for Wedge, I fear. I dont think itll be able to get a hold of Kracko, and it cant do anything damaging, so Kracko to win on a JD.

*releases large white tiger, which turns around and eats Frank instead* How odd.

Zoiks. Try to box-rush Kracko before it can spin up and shove it into any killsaws or flywheels to try and break something. If I get my courage up, aim for the nearest wall and flip away.

                Wedge Devolution vs. Kracko

Use my superior manoeuvrability (even moreso than Avarices) to evade Wedge Devo until I get up to speed and then just keep belting him until he dies from shock damage. The spikes should stop him from high-centering me somewhat.

Kracko rhymes with Wacko - ones the robots name, and the other is the robots description! This robot is a 4 wheel drive onmibot, meaning that it can move in any direction without the need to turn - wacky! And it can moves anyway at its top speed of 15mph, being geared for acceleration, so it can move with ease! Weaponry includes a deadly 32kg outer ring powered by 2 LEM130s @ 36v. It can reach its top RPM of 3500 in about 2.3 seconds, and dishes out a monstrous 114kj of energy per hit. The four giant (but hollow) Hardox spikes with spike edges will be the main dealers of damage, with 4 smaller spikes to try and get wedges stuck. And it€™s got a tough body as well - the outer ring is 10mm Titanium/Vanadium, and the top and bottom are 13mm 7075 aircraft aluminium. Key parts of the omnibot are padded with extra urethane rubber for shock protection. Kracko may be a tough robot, but can it contest with some other ring spinners?

The outer ring of Kracko is spinning, and just eerily glides across the area, as Wedge storms in! Wedge is quickly over to the spinner, but that free-moving body is too fast, and and the ring is reaching its lethal, deadly, terminal ferciousity! Wedge has to turn around to ram in once again, but the teeth catch the front wedge and€¦THWACK! Wedge Devolution is sent into a spin, and when it stops spinning we see the image of a Wedge Devolution with a large piece of Harodx torn out of the wedge! Kody smiles slightly, as he now moves in on the attack again, allowing the teeth to grab hold and send the current belt holder into another spin. Wedge is this time spun halfway-round, and speeds off before the lethal Kracko can move in again. Wedge is speeding off, but Kracko gives chase, pursuing Wedge around the ring, before Wedge now decides to turn aggressive - charging across the arena, hunting down Kracko, but Kracko changes from running to attacking! And now both machines hit in again - BOOOOM! The crash is massive, sparks flying away, and both robots are flung from where they€™re placed, but neither seems to have sustained much damage. But Kracko just moves in again, as desperate and determined as ever, and SMASHES INTO WEDGE, TEARING OUT ANOTHER SECTION OF HARDOX! Kody smiles at the sight of Wedge being torn apart. But now Steven goes on an offensive, but the omni-drive design moves away again, but Wedge has got the extension under the teeth of the ring! FLIP! Kracko flies 3ft upwards, but lands, still spinning, but not as fast as before and now Wedge hits in one more time - sparks fly, but the ring seems to have stopped! Steven puts full power down as Wedge Devolution powers Kracko across the ring, slamming it into the wall and€¦HE FLIPS! Kracko spins, but now lands on the wall! Kody activates the ring, and now Kracko starts to slide off the wall€¦but Wedge has reversed off, and suddenly rams in, and flips again, and this time the invertible spinner goes flying up and over the edge!

                  Result:
                  Kracko goes up like Krakatau!
