!WOOOOT! Totally agree with Liam, purely because Ive not faced Chezza in a one-on-one more than once, and when he left, I thought, I only fought him when he was new, but now I wont fight him with experience. But its great to see him back.

            • The Crash & Burn Tournament: The Dual Duels

Ahem...if I could have your attention please.

Due to extreme lack of motivation to write this tournament (due to a strain of having to write battles with 4 bots in them all the time which I had not foreseen, and a lack of interest from some other users :P), this tournament is being largely shunted.

This is NOT a hypothetical. A hypothetical is just some results displayed in front of you. This is a summarization of the rest of the heats of Dual Duels, which will be a bit more descriptive. The Finals WILL be written.

              Now then€¦

              Heat D

              Round 1
Manic Monsoon & The 6isc vs. Tengu VII & Killotine: EVO

The fight starts off well for Steve and Alex as Tengu VII immediately causes large damage to The 6isc€™s wheelhubs. Unfortunately for Tengu it was then flipped while the blade were stopped, and as it tried to self-right, the srimech got ripped off. Killotine had rammed around Manic Monsoon, and eventually did the ol€™ clamp and pit whilst avoiding The 6isc€™s blade. Then the battle went to the judges and Killotine: EVO won it 41-34 for Team Vengeance For All

Cat With Wheels & Turbo Shredder vs. Infusion Delta & Rupture

No contest, very short. Infusion Delta immediately drove into Turbo Shredder, hit the pit release button, and then dumped it down. Cat With Wheels flipped over Rupture but then Infusion Delta wedged it and shoved it into Damocles€™ CPZ, who launched it over the fence with a drum hit.

Obliteration & Flick of the Wrist vs. Secret & Spiny

This was close. Flick of the Wrist got its spikes ripped right off by Spiny€™s immense blade but managed to pit it after avoiding a hammer blow from Obelix Bulguous. Secret struggled a bit with Obliteration but after suffering a side panel getting knocked off, smashed the disc into Obliteration which knocked a motor out of place and immobilized Chris. Flick was unable to take out Secret without the spikes and Chezza tore apart the side panels of Martijn€™s rammer, leaving Team JimBob to go through.

              W.O.R.C.K. & Nidhogg vs. Pussycat & Robochicken

Also very short. WORCK immediately rammed into Robochicken, carried it to the wall, and flicked it out. Nidhogg went for Pussycat and clamped down on it. WORCK opened the pit and Nidhogg dropped him down.

              Round 2
              Secret & Spiny vs. W.O.R.C.K. & Nidhogg

WORCK€™s tough armour didn€™t help it much against Spiny€™s vertical disc, and when it was flipped over Secret shoved WORCK under the Disc of Death grinder, wedging it and disabling its ability to self-right. Nidhogg attempted to pry WORCK out but Secret slammed in with its disc and sent it away. WORCK was counted out and it went to a judges decision later, giving it to Team Jimbob in a rather one-sided 64-11 decision.

Infusion Delta & Rupture vs. Tengu VII & Killotine: EVO

Team SpunOut were up against it here. Rupture box-rushed Tengu but that didn€™t seem to help and it was sub-sequently destroyed, but Infusion had Killotine on the ropes. Tengu rammed Killotine out of the way however when Infusion tried to pit Steve€™s axebot, and Tengu managed to give the spinning rim a rather nasty dent at the end, but they won over Aaron anyway in a 53-22 judges€™ decision.

              Round 3
Secret & Spiny vs. Tengu VI & Killotine: EVO

Tengu€™s spinning ring shone brightly during this match, and it ripped Secret apart completely, before turning on Spiny. Spiny flipped Killotine over with its own disc a few times, but it was axed and brought to Tengu, who dismembered it in a rather gruesome showing. Oh, and Tengu managed to knock Asterix Heroicus down the pit as well.

Heat winners: Tengu VI & Killotine: EVO

              Heat E

              Round 1
              Nitro-Gene 4.0 & The Quaestor vs. Black Panther & E Clawdius Unum

A close battle. Black Panther and Nitro-Gene were flipping each other all around the arena, occasionally accompanied by Black Panther€™s axe, and The Quaestor battled Clawdius. Clawdius managed to give The Quaestor some good damage, but Black Panther started to smoke around the end and wasn€™t moving quite well around the arena. The Quaestor axed it and that was the end. Judges gave a close 39-36 for Nitro-Gene and Quaestor.

Infusion Torsen & PsycloniZer vs. Dennis the Menace & Tempest Evil-est-oution

Very short, again. PsycloniZer and Tempest died upon impacting with each other and Infusion took over from there, wedging Dennis the Menace, and rather taking him to Ancalagon€™s CPZ, a wise move as Ancalagon knocked the panels off of Dennis, and then Infusion pitted Dennis.

Razer & Dandy vs. Wild Thing & Black Death

Dandy€™s axe proved to be useful as it punched through the (rather generic, seeing as there weren€™t any armour stats when Black Death entered) armour of Black Death, killing it, and Razer took out Wild Thing soon after, clampng it and bringing it to the pit. Razer then had a go at Taki-san but the house robot outmanoeuvred and pitted him.

Leprosy Infection & Axe to Fall vs. Sewer Snake & Gulp

Sewer Snake never had a chance. Its exposed yet previously unhittable tires were drummed and axed into oblivion, leaving it sliding along the floor. Then Martijn and Chris struggled to take out Gulp, finally immobilizing it with 48 seconds left on the clock. Axe to Fall then clamped it and tried to drag it to the pt but then broke down itself, nonetheless Team Various Dinowarriors advanced.

              Round 2
Razer & Dandy vs. Infusion Torsen & PsycloniZer

Infusion initially attacked Dandy but Razer caught up with it and clamped it firmly, pitting the fifth Infusion early on, and then Dandy axed PsycloniZer after getting the stuffing pounded out of it and tried to drag Psy down the pit but couldn€™t. Razer had about as much success with this as he did Tornado. Soon after Dandy broke down, but Razer pushed Psy into a CPZ where he got stuck by Exa-Gore-Ic Evo. Judges gave it to Team JimBob 41-34.

Nitro-Gene 4.0 & The Quaestor vs. Leprosy Infection & Axe to Fall

It clearly was battle of the axes as Nitro-Gene and Leprosy Infection both got axed to death, their tires were chewed up and hacked. Then the axes turned on each other, but Axe to Fall had the clear advantage in leverage and got under Quaestor several times, and after several trips to the Disc of Death, Quaestor stopped moving.

              Round 3
Leprosy Infection & Axe to Fall vs. Razer & Dandy

Leprosy Infection had a far easier time with Razer, sticking to its sides and flipping it over repeatedly until, once again, Razer broke down, venting smoke. Axe to Fall was also once again the king of the axes, and after a little €˜Tango€™, managed to grapple Dandy, but Dandy€™s wheels were touching the ground so Axe to Fall couldn€™t really do anything. Leprosy then slammed into Dandy turning it over, and it was pitted.

Heat winners: Leprosy Infection & Axe to Fall

              Heat F

              Round 1
Death Threat 0.2 & Death Wish vs. Mega Masher 2 & Back to Rock III

Mega Masher easily disposed of Death Wish down the pit early on, flipping it over repeatedly before Death Wish ground to a halt, and then the duo ganged up on Death Threat. The finishing move was a lift by Back to Rock, and one of the tracks came off, completely immobilizing Death Threat as the remaining track seemed to be stuck.

The Woodpecker & Acronyms FTW vs. Tri-Tainium & Gabriel II

Tri-Tainium ripped off Acronyms€™ mechanism during the first minute of the match but Acronyms fought back without a weapon, and pushed Tri-Tainium back. Gabriel really had no problem with The Woodpecker, tossing it a few times before delivering it to the pit. It then helped Tri-Tainium get rid of Acronyms down the pit.

Darkestar & Turbo Tails vs. Infusion Faux & SoR X

Decimation. That€™s one way to describe the fight. Turbo Tails turned turtle almost before the match began, and then Infusion and SoR totally ripped apart Darkestar, first the tracks, then the disc, then pretty much everything, leaving a scrap heap of parts there. Then they did the same to the inverted Turbo Tails. Utterly dominated.

              Hexadecimator & Crushy vs. Kronic & Alpha-Rex

Another short fight. Kronic showed Hexy who was the better flipper of the realies, and tossed it immediately over the wall. Alpha-Rex and Kronic then tossed Crushy all over the shop, finally giving it its flight over the fence and out of the tournament.

              Round 2
Infusion Faux & SoR X vs. Tri-Tainium & Gabriel II

Another destructive battle. Tri-Tainium met SoR X€™s flywheel head on and both weapons stopped, allowing Infusion to move in and totally destroy Tri-Tainium. SoR X then surprisingly outmanoeuvred Gabriel and gave it right back to an incoming Infusion, who rocketed it into the pit.

Kronic & Alpha-Rex vs. Mega Masher 2 & Back to Rock III

A drawn-out battle. Mega Masher couldn€™t get its weaponry into play against either competitor, and was flipped around, but Team Operation Devastation couldn€™t get it out of there. Back to Rock did do some lifting and sawing but there was no visible damage, and so the closest judges decision thus far took place. They examined all the robots for slightest signs of damage, and then awarded it to Team Various Dinowarriors: 38-37. The key: the underside damage caused by Back to Rock€™s sawblade.

              Round 3
Infusion Faux & SoR X vs. Mega Masher 2 & Back to Rock III

This turned into a house robot attack immediately. SoR flipped over Shunt at once, got him out of the arena, and then everybody ganged up on poor Ancalagon the Black. Eventually, they got him over, but during that struggle Infusion took some heavy hits from those giant discs and broke down soon after, and SoR was bashed by the disc of Mega Masher, and lifted up by Back to Rock. It looked like it would escape, but Mega Masher came in with the wedge and pushed it back and down.

Heat winners: Mega Masher 2 & Back to Rock III

              Heat G

              Round 1
Infusion Beta & Wedga€™s Revenge vs. Dervish V & Dead Horse Beater

Wedga suffered a great amounts of hits from Dervish and although managing to get it near the arena could not finish it off, and got the underside kicked out, immobilizing it. Infusion and Dead Horse Beater were getting in the heat of things, when Infusion rammed Dead Horse Beater into the wall. Dervish attacked Infusion and stopped the ring. This allowed DHB to get around to Infusion€™s side, grapple it, and pit it.

Storm II & 13 Black vs. Salamander III & All Scoop & No Stab Make Steve A Dull Boy

13 Black was flipped immediately, and though Storm II righted it, it kept getting flipped over and over by All Scoop. Storm II later on was then inverted and got a side skirt ripped off by Salamander. It showed quite a lot of aggression, but the judges gave the 47-28 decision to Team Vengeance for All.

              Drumroll SR & Hatchet vs. Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus & Liar 2

It was the match Chris and Martijn were hoping for. Only 17 seconds into the match, and Drumroll and Hatchet were flicked OOTA. They then attacked the house robots, and Die-Ceratops took a rather nasty hit on the wheel by Double Big Mac, but they turned him and Matilda turtle before long.

Lethal Injection & Paralyzation vs. Dantomkia & Pushy

Dantomkia looked impressive, and moreso did Pushy, but Paralyzation got in a lucky blow on Pushy€™s front wedge, lifting it up and wedging it on the drum, and then pitted it. Dantomkia pushed Lethal Injection all around the arena yet couldn€™t flip it properly, and Paralyzation attacked it from the rear. From then on Dantomkia was harried by both spinning weapons and Team After-Life went forward with a 56-19 decision.

              Round 2
              Lethal Injection & Paralyzation vs. Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus & Liar 2

Liar 2 didn€™t stand a chance. One hit from Lethal Injection€™s disc sent the right side one flying across the arena, and Liar was left for dead. Paralyzation kept smacking Die-Ceratops over, however Die-Ceratops managed to toss Paralyzation across the arena and strand it on the wall. Lethal Injection freed it and they harrassed Die-Ceratops until the end of the match, like last time. Again, they were successful with the 50-25 decision.

Dervish V & Dead Horse Beater vs. Salamander III & All Scoop & No Stab Make Steve A Dull Boy

A very fun battle, each side got in a lots of hits with their weaponry. Salamander III however copped it first, the wheels the main factor, and then Dervish, despite making numerous dents and gashes on the side of All Scoop, was clamped, lifted, and pitted. However the damage that Dervish inflicted proved to be the deciding factor, and the third judges decision in a row was given to Dead Horse Beater, 40-35.

              Round 3
Lethal Injection & Paralyzation vs. Dervish V & Dead Horse Beater

Lethal Injection never really got going, as it got a taste of its medicine courtesy of Dervish€™s drum, and it was dewheeled instantly. Paralyzation got in a great number of hits on Dead Horse Beater but it couldn€™t fight off its opponents fast enough and was axed and pitted, receiving some smacks by Dervish in the process.

Heat winners: Dervish V & Dead Horse Beater

              Heat H

              Round 1
Spring-BOK & Diotoir vs. Big Nipper & Marwolaeth

Spring-BOK couldn€™t compete with the disc that was Marwolaeth and was ripped apart within several hits. Diotoir surprised the audience however as he pushed Big Nipper around, but when Big Nipper finally got the lift and flip, the weapon reliability once again did Diotoir in as it couldn€™t self-right. Team Various Dinowarriors were then pitted.

ArchAngel of the Abyss & The Botles Reunited vs. Infusion Forza & Axeon 3.0

ArchAngel just couldn€™t spin up fast enough as Infusion rammed into it and brought it into Mr. Psycho€™s CPZ, who picked it up and crushed the srimech€¦dropping it upside-down. The Botles flew around the arena like scarab beetles but Axeon and Infusion took them out one at a time. Ringo tried to right ArchAngel with his drum but was unable to and was shoved in the pit last of all by Axeon.

Squishiest & The May Tracks Has You vs. Typhoon 2 & Flippy

Typhoon 2 put up a good fight but it wasn€™t enough and they were flipped over by May Tracks. Squishiest prevented Flippy from righting it and sank into the side of Flippy, grabbing and dragging it off to the pit. May Tracks then tried to flip Typhoon 2 OOTA but failed and that righted the swirling cone. The match came to a close with both competitors trying to catch Typhoon 2 for a few minutes but neither sustained much damage and Team Dunno went through by a 49-26 decision, crushing any chances of Chezza and Dave reaching the Finals.

              D.V.D. The Sequel & 147 vs. Crimson Thunder & Walk Don€™t Run

DVD was rammed all around the shop by Crimson Thunder, and eventually Walk Don€™t Run smashed into DVD, knocking it straight into an empty CPZ which Obelix took and hammered the living crap out of DVD. 147 then tossed over Crimson Thunder but then repeated hits from Walk Don€™t Run and 147 gave in, and Crimson Thunder (weakly) shoved it down the pit.

              Round 2
Crimson Thunder & Walk Don€™t Run vs. Big Nipper & Marwolaeth

Big Nipper seemed to be on top, lifting Crimson Thunder into the air and bringing it towards the pit, but a sudden driving error later and Big Nipper drove itself into the pit! Crimson Thunder however was taken with him and the final two were left to fight. The power of Walk Don€™t Run€™s spinning ring proved the deciding factor and Samuel won the 39-36 decision for his team.

Squishiest & The May Tracks Has You vs. Infusion Forza & Axeon 3.0

Squishiest was superb during this battle, immediately grappling hold of Axeon and hanging on for dear life while May Tracks pressed the pit release button, Infusion then tried to get both down the pit but Squishiest let go of Axeon (who fell into the pit :P) at the right time, turned around and got straight to Infusion€™s side, pushing it and clamping down as well. May Tracks then took out Sgt. Bash while Squishiest delivered Infusion on top of his teammate, and then CEASE was called as they tried to get Taki-san OOTA.

              Round 3
Crimson Thunder & Walk Don€™t Run vs. Squishiest & The May Tracks Has You

The last chance for Danny and Samuel, but it went down ill. Squishiest immediately clamped down on Crimson Thunder€™s wheel, and though Danny hoped for a repeat of the Big Nipper incident, it did not come, Daniel delivering Danny into the pit. Harrying attacks from Squishiest and May Tracks then did Walk Don€™t Run in, and Samuel€™s spinner was put down the pit as well.

Heat winners: Squishiest & The May Tracks Has You

Commiserations to Team JimBob and Team After-Life; dont worry, you done well, kids.

So, we have our Finalist teams:

Firefly & System Shock (Team Operation Devastation)
Infusion Alpha & GeForce 4.0 (Team SpunOut)

I actually dont blame you in the slightest Kody, as this was a tough tournamnt to write (and besides now we can have C & BT 3 earlier).

                      Tactics:
Firefly & System Shock vs. The May Tracks Has You & Squishiest

A really tough one, I think it could go either way. Squishiest has high ground clearance an is slow self-righting, so I think Jamie maybe should go after Daniel and try to lift him over then pit him. However, May Tracks is very tough, so at the start of the bout Ill go straight for the pit and try to push him in while avoiding his front end.

                      Good luck Frank and Daniel

But dont ever have a go at someone else for doing hypos again Kody, I dont care what you say this is a hypo to me

Im shocked to the very core!

Chris... how often have you been in a tag team tournament with me, I dont think the word usual really applies here

MeCannibal 2.0 & Phoenix Down vs. Mega Masher 2 & Back to Rock III

I say Mega Masher wedge rushes MeCannibal with its awesomely awesome Hardox. MeCannibal is an extreme spinner and as such should a) have a slow spinup time and b) damage itself quite abit when confronted with Hardox. A few good wedge rushes might eliminate this robot completely. I have to wait for the setup of Phoenix Down, but lifting it and driving it into either MeCannibals weapon (if it manages to spin up) or Mega Mashers weapon, OR the pit sounds cool to me.

Infusion Alpha & GeForce 4.0 vs. Tengu VII & Killotine: EVO: This is an incredibly bad round for AJ and Aaron, as Infusion is going to do REALLY bad against Tengus anti-spinner ring. And GeForce and Killotine, although its evenly split, Killotine stands for chance of winning between those two. Ill go for Steve and Alex to hack and smash their way through.

MeCannibal 2.0 & Phoenix Down vs. Mega Masher 2 & Back to Rock III: This quite a good match as far as things go. Back To Rock was defeated in Chevron Championship by MacDuff The 3rd, a tracked robot with 104hp. Phoenix Down as tracks, and 104hp. See where Im going Joey Mega Masher will be quite easy to handle, as its quite large, and theres a lot to hit, and although I wont get through that 3.25mm Hardox like butter, Ill cause some scars and dents, so we might be OK.

Good luck to Matijn and Chris

Firefly & System Shock vs. Squishiest & The May Tracks Has You: Unless Liam can do something brilliant to finish off May Tracks, this isnt going to be pretty

Leprosy Infection & Axe to Fall vs. Dervish V & Dead Horse Beater: Axe To Fall may be made of weak stuff, but it has better control and power than Dead Horse Beater. The other battle is Leprosy and Dervish, and while Dervish may have the more powerful drum, its wheels are exposed and Leprosy Infections arent. Martijn and Chris to win.

Good luck to all the finalists

This quite a good match as far as things go. Back To Rock was defeated in Chevron Championship by MacDuff The 3rd, a tracked robot with 104hp. Phoenix Down as tracks, and 104hp.

you made a WONDERFULL post earlier Paul, I believe it was in the How to Improve topic, where you said you USED to concentrate on numbers and facts too much, instead of what can actually happen in a battle. Dont make that same mistake again sir

Firefly & System Shock vs. Squishiest & The May Tracks Has You - I suggest Danny goes for System Shock and takes out its wheels. Thats what Ill be doing with Firefly, shoot under, reverse and flip.

Uh... Yeah. Assuming we fight like you said Nevermind the fact that Id prefer to attack Leprosy, as his invertible nature means I can aim for his wheels. Besides, Dervish should be able to destroy axe to Fall pretty quickly...

This is an incredibly bad round for AJ and Aaron, as Infusion is going to do REALLY bad against Tengus anti-spinner ring.

Heh, it might make my weapon a little less effective, but it doesnt stop the wedge from ramming tengus ass all over the arena. The bosch drives are slop compared to the magmotor + ke boost of Infusion. Tengus weapon only spins at ~500rpm, which is never gonna produce enough energy to damage the hardox clad Infusion.
