The Crash & Burn Tournament: The Dual Duels

ok Chris, heres my 7 vapours and some suggestion from my side

                http://strickenone.proboards99.com/index.cgi?board=thvapourshttp://strickenone.proboards99.com/i...oard=thvapours

Sheer Heart Attack 2, I want this machine to teamup with a robot that can take on powerful spinneres really well, Im thinking Crash Bandi-Bot 3 or Axe-O-Lotl

Another Night at the Bar, my main spinner, I spin, you push em in . Axe-O-Lotl has the most powerful drive of your bots, but with Orka MK4s clamping technique, I believe the whale is another viable option

Flick of the Wrist, this time Im the pusher, as Flick of the Wrist is my most effective pusher, I suggest Flick teams up with your robot that has the most trouble bringing its weapon in, perhaps Obliteration, looking at its speed?

Back to Rock III, another pushy bot, Mega Masher 2, Leprosy Infection I think, but I believe Leprosy Infection wont need much help, given its good control, so Id say Mega Masher

Axe to Fall, clamp and push, lets go with Leprosy Infection on this

Liar 2, awwwwwwww, I BADLy wanna see a Liar 2-Die-Ceratops teamup, OOTA them before they know what hit them

With or WIthout you, this clusterbot is based on the fact that one part takes hits while the other one attacks, ideally its partner takes hits as well, so Crash Bandi-Bot 3/Axe-O-Lotl perhaps?

                Concluding

                Sheer Heart Attack 2 - Chrash Bandi-Bot 3/Axe-O-Lotl
Another Night at the Bar - Axe-O-Lotl/Orka MK4
Flick of the Wrist - Obliteration
Back to Rock III - Mega Masher 2
Axe to Fall - Leprosy Infection
                Liar 2 - Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus
With or Without you - Chrash Bandi-Bot 3/Axe-O-Lotl
                Diotoir - Spring-BOK!

Teamname - Variable Dinosaurs? Dunno, what do you suggest?

And please take into account I made these teams from my squads point of view, your views might be very different

The Crash & Burn Tournament: The Dual Duels

Chevron Insanity is fine...better than my ideas, anyway

And...ladies, gentlemen, Frank, and especially Square...meet Life And Death.

                  Life
                  WEIGHT: 60kgs
                  DIMENSIONS: 70 x 40 x 35 cm
SHAPE: Long wedge, with an inverted wedge at the rear.
COLOUR: Silvery white, with gold trim
DRIVE: 2 S28-400 Magmotors running from 2 NiCd packs at 24v driving steel tracks, with Vulkalon on every fourth tread to provide traction without draining too much battery life.
                  SPEED: 15mph average, 25mph max
GROUND CLEARANCE: 0 at the front due to the flipper. 0 at the sides due to titanium skirts, with 8mm at the back and beneath the skirts
ARMOUR: 4mm Hardox front, 5mm titanium sides and rear, 3mm aluminium baseplate and under the flipper.
WEAPONS: A pneumatic rear hinged flipper, consisting of the entire front of the robot, running from 1 large Gravity style ram and a 4kg tank of 1000psi nitrogen giving approximately 12-14 flips a fight. The flipper has some Mute style spikes made of titanium to catch opponents on it.
SRIMECH: Via flipper. The sides have small protrusions to prevent stranding.
NOTES: Has a small wheelie bar at the rear to prevent it throwing itself over.
                  STRENGTHS: Powerful weapon, good armour
                  WEAKNESSES: Lacks weight

                  Death
                  WEIGHT: 50kgs
                  DIMENSIONS: 60 x 40 x 35 cm
SHAPE: Longish wedge, with a wedge at the rear as well.
COLOUR: Bluish gloss black, with purple trim
DRIVE: 2 S28-400 Magmotors running from 2 NiCd packs at 24v driving steel tracks, with Vulkalon on every fourth tread to provide traction without draining too much battery life.
                  SPEED: 16mph average, 26mph max
GROUND CLEARANCE: 0 at the front due to wedge. 0 at the sides due to titanium skirts, with 8mm at the back and beneath the skirts.
ARMOUR: 4mm Hardox front, 4mm titanium sides and rear, 3mm aluminium baseplate.
WEAPONS: A hydraulic crushing arm, constructed of steel and duraluminium with a tungsten tip, running from a Vivoil pump at 2000psi generating 5 tonnes at the ram and 2.5 tonnes at the tip. Also, the wedge has Mute style spikes made of titanium to catch opponents in the path of the crusher.
SRIMECH: Has a large Hypnodisc-style self righter just behind the crusher, running from a custom gearbox and a motorbike starter motor that self rights it in about one and a half seconds.
STRENGTHS: Powerful weapon, good armour, fast
                  WEAKNESSES: Lacks weight

The linking is through electromagnets; the robots are designed so the back of Life fits perfectly with the back of Death so they can link up there. They can join up and attack as one if needed, particuarly against rammers and anything else wih a lot of power. They should be allowed to get the 10kg bonus as both halves use tracks.

The Crash & Burn Tournament: The Dual Duels

                            Name: Supreme Glory Omega
                            Weight: 100kg
Armour: 20mm Lexan and LexiGuard compound and 4mm Grade 5 Titanium skirts.
                            Speed: 18mph, running of 2 x S28-400 MagMotors running at 24v.
Shape: Box shaped with Ti skirts on each side.
Weapon 1: An 11kg Aluminium alloy axe powered by liquid Nitrogen running at 1000psi. The axe mechanism is a rack and pinion system, using a 100mm stroke, 80mm bore pneumatic cylinder.
Strengths: Strong armour and very manoeuvrable.
Weaknesses: Axe only works if something is in front or behind the robot.
Ground Clearance: 0mm all around due to skirts.
Srimech: The axe self rights the robot.
Notes: The 2 wheels are made from Ti/V alloy and coated in Vulcalore to aid in traction. The robot is covered in 20mm Lexan and LexiGuard compound. The axe weighs a total of 11kg and is shaped like Excaliburs axe from series 3 of Robot Wars. This shape is designed to focus all the force on a single point, meaning it can pierce through armour easily. To stop the robot hopping around when the axe is fired, the robot incorporates a vacuum system. This system basically sucks SG0 to the ground and is mainly used when fighting pushers or robots with superior pushing power. This mechanism can be knocked on and off during the match. The robot carries 4kg of liquid Nitrogen on board and has roughly 35 hits per fight. The axe can come down with roughly 2 tonnes of force at the tip, meaning that the axe could knock certain opponents out in one hit.

Name: Wheely Pure Evil 2 (Thanks to Aaron for flipper rams and armour)
                            Weight: 100kg
Armour: 6mm Aluminium Boron Carbite (slightly heavier than Aluminium, but harder than Tungsten)
                            Speed: 18mph
                            Shape: Low invertible wedge
Weapon 1: Top hinged flipper powered by a 80mm pneumatic ram, working at 1000psi fixed on top of the robot. At the bottom of the flipper there is a 5mm Grade 5 Titanium wedge extender, designed to get under any ground clearance.
Weapon 2: Top hinged flipper powered by an 80mm pneumatic ram, working at 1000psi fixed on the underside of the robot.
Strengths: Powerful weaponry and tough armour.
Weaknesses: Exposed wheels on top and limited CO2 on board.
Ground Clearance: 1cm at the back, 0mm on sides due to side skirts and 0mm at front due to flipping plate.
                            Srimech: Invertible.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 S28-400 MagMotors running at 24v, which give 18mph top speed. The flippers are made from 4mm Aluminium Boron Carbite, and powered by 80mm pneumatic rams working at 1000psi due to Nitrogen. Each flipper can flip roughly 2500kg each. However, due to the flipper set up, the robot can flip roughly 5000kg! The robot has hinged side skirts, to stop robot getting underneath. The skirts are made from 3mm Aluminium Boron Carbite, and are hinged so they run upside down. The flippers can be fired at the same time, or independently. This robot works on the same basis as St Agro: a double flipper.

                            Robot Name: Dennis The Menace
Length/Width/Height: 100 x 40 x 25 - 35cm (The height of the robot increases as you move from the front to the back).
                            Weight: 100KG
Motivation: 2 foam filled go kart wheels made of uber-tough rubber.
                            Speed: About 18mph
Weapon: The main weapon is a 20kg spinning drum, powered by 2 Huqsvarna 3120XP chainsaw motors. The weapon is capable of changing gears during a match. Originally, the drum spins at 2400RPM when geared down 10:1, but this can be increased to 2:1 at systematic intervals of 2 gearings (10:1, 8:1, 6:1, 4:1 2:1). The 4mm Titanium drum is fitted with 2 horizontal Hardox bars, welded, screwed and riveted on to avoid them coming off. These are designed not only to flip, but to rip off skirts and armouring. The drum can hit with over 10kJ of force when spinning at 2400RPM, and increases to an astonishing 243kJ when spinning at 2:1 gearing (12000RPM).
                            Drive: 24v Sinclair C5 motors.
                            Power: 4 x 24v NiCad batteries.
Armour: 5mm Titanium and Vanadium alloy.
                            Ground Clearance: 4mm all around.
                            Turning Circle: 0M
Notes: The robot is invertible, and is completely symmetrical when flipped, meaning the performance isn€™t altered at all. The robot€™s shape is basically a box, but with the height increasing as you move from front to the back. The robot has 2 thick Hardox spikes on each side, which means it can pass the passive weaponry rule, and these also stop the robot resting on its side. To stop it resting on its back, the rear of the robot is slightly curved.

                            Name: Woodpecker
                            Weight: 100kg
                            Armour: 4mm Hardox.
                            Speed: 18mph - powered by 2 Sinclair C5 motors running at 24v.
Shape: Box wedge with sloped sides, a rounded back and scooped front.
Weapon 1: A cam-driven axe mechanism, powered by a 60v Briggs and Stratton 11kW motor. (Interchangeable).
Weapon 2: A flipping arm, powered by a 60v Briggs and Stratton 11kW motor. (Interchangeable).
Strengths: Fastest axe mechanism currently around (hypothetically of course, this is only a vapour after all€¦ )
Weaknesses: The weapon itself is not very destructive, but mainly shows dominance in terms of number of this it can do.
Ground Clearance: 0mm at the front due to a sharpened Titanium front and side skirts, 4mm at rear.
Srimech: Invertible, but the axe mechanism has enough power in it to right it back onto its wheels.
Notes: The axe-head is based on Dominator 2€™s, and has small Titanium spikes on each end to aid in self righting. The axe-head is made of Titanium, with a 5mm Hardox tip. The flipper arm is made entirely out of 10mm Aluminium. The robot has 4 wheels get up in a skid steer system and runs off 2 Sinclair C5 motors @ 24v. Each side is connected to each other by a heavy duty rubber belt, and the wheels are made entirely out of Vulcalore. The weapon systems run off a 60v Briggs and Stratton 11kW motor geared down 15:1. The motor is connected to a cam wheel which in turn moves the weapon up and down on its pivot. When running at 60v, the weapon can move just under 5 times a second. The emphasis is not on power, but in dominance and aggression.

                            Name: Squishiest
                            Weight: 100kg
                            Armour: 4mm Grade 5 Titanium
                            Speed: 20mph
                            Shape: Low wedge
Weapon 1: A very powerful hydraulic crusher, with 14 tonnes of pressure at the tip.
Strengths: Very powerful crusher and strong armour. Good pushing power and good speed.
                            Weaknesses: Slow srimech.
Ground Clearance: 0mm at front due to wrinkler device. 5mm at sides and 1cm at back.
Srimech: It uses a set of Razer style wings.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 LEM130 Lynch motors running at 36v, giving 20mph top speed and pushing power equivalent to 18HP. The robot has 6 inner Vulcalore wheels, which give tremendous traction. The crusher itself is made from 4mm Hardox, with 300 weight reducing holes. It is powered by an M-Mac M40 Hydraulic Actuator running at 12v, which can give 14 tonnes of pressure. The actuator has already been used in Robotic Combat, so this robot is realistic. The tip of the crusher is coated in carbon, so it can rip through Titanium easily. For the weapon to function properly, the robot contains 12 x 9.6-volt NiMh Radio Controlled Car Batteries, each weighing 12oz.

                            Name: Manic Monsoon
                            Weight: 100kg
                            Armour: 5mm Hardox all over.
                            Speed: Roughly 28mph
Shape: Box wedge with side skirts and rounded back.
Weapon 1: A linear actuator powered lifter running by a 4 bar system at 24v. This can lift 200kg easily.
Weapon 2: A small strip of Grade 5 Titanium on the front wedge, which gives 0mm ground clearance.
Strengths: Powerful drive and good strong weapon
Weaknesses: A bit too fast and hard to control when at full speed.
Ground Clearance: 0mm on front and sides, 1cm at back.
Srimech: Invertible, but can self right using the lifter if wanted to.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 B42-500 MagMotors running at 60v. This gives Monsoon approx 60HP! The robot has a total of 6 wheels, 3 on each side. Each side is linked together by a set of heavy duty belts, giving 0m turning circle and the manoeuvrability of a 2 wheeled robot, and each wheel is coated in Vulcalon. The front wedge is angled at 42.5 degrees, meaning that it is not too steep or too shallow. The lifting arm is powered by a S28-150 MagMotor, and is made from 7075 Aluminium. The lifter itself can lift a total of 200kg, and can self right the robot if needs be. The side skirts are made from 4mm Titanium and are hinged.

                            Name: Dervish \/
                            Weight: 100kg
Armour: 10mm Aluminium Boron Carbite, with 5mm Lexiguard inside that to protect electronics.
                            Speed: 14mph
                            Shape: Invertible cylinder, like Barberous
Weapon 1: Spinning body which spins upwards, so it can flip its opponents.
Strengths: Powerful weaponry and very manoeuvrable
                            Weaknesses: Exposed wheels.
                            Ground Clearance: 7mm all around
                            Srimech: Invertible
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 C40-500 MagMotors with 4 36v packs and geared down 20:1, giving the robot a top speed of 14mph. Both wheels are based around Stinger, but have Vulcalore trims to aid in traction. The spinning body is made from 10mm Aluminium Boron Carbite, with 5mm Lexiguard inside that. The spinning body has Carbon tipped blades and Grade 5 Titanium blades attached all over it, so it can destroy all matters of armour. The body itself is powered by 2 LEM 130s running at 36v via 4 packs. This means the drum spins at approx 2500RPM. This should be enough power to destroy a robot in a matter of seconds.

                            Name: Sonic Boom
                            Weight: 100kg
Armour: 1cm thick Hardox wheel hubs, 5mm Hardox axe head and 5mm thick axe pole. The axle joining the 2 wheels is made from 6mm Titanium and Vanadium alloy.
                            Speed: 28mph.
Shape: The robot is an axlebot based around Stinger.
Weapon 1: A momentum powered axe, which can come down with 800kgs of force.
Strengths: Hard to grab hold off and very tough armour. Great manoeuvrability.
                            Weaknesses: Poor pushing power.
                            Ground Clearance: 10mm.
                            Srimech: The robot is invertible.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 LEM 130s, giving 28mph top speeds. The wheels are made from aircraft grade Aluminium, with Hardox wheel hubs and thick rubber treads. All the electronics, batteries and wiring are hidden inside the wheels. The 1cm thick wheel hubs should mean that nothing can damage the innards of Sonic Boom. To save weight on the robot, the wheels are only 20cm high, but are also 20cm wide, increasing traction on the arena floor. The axe head is modelled on Stingers axe from series 4 of Robot Wars, but is a lot tougher due to the 50cm, 5mm Hardox axe pole and 5mm Hardox axe head. The axe is momentum powered, meaning that when the robot stops moving from a charge, the axe swings over head and hits what ever is in front of it. This method of weaponry is not accurate most of the time, but when it does hit, it can cause a lot of damage. The 10mm ground clearance all over the robot should stop it getting stuck on arena obstacles.

                            Frank wanna team up?

The Crash & Burn Tournament: The Dual Duels

This is how I see it...

SHEER HEART ATTACK 2: I think a swinging weapon would probably be best here. Because the drum can flip as well, a flipper would be pointless. Axe-O-Lotl would probably be the best robot here.

ANATB: Orka can not only push and clamp, he can lift. Plus, the scoop shouldnt get damaged too badly if a slam into the robot goes wrong.

FLICK: This is a Diotoir/Pussycat move. Your robot is good at shoving, and my best destruction robot is probably Obliteration.

BACK TO ROCK: No, I think Mega Masher oughta do the job.

AXE TO FALL: Leprosy Infection should probably work well in the same way that SHA and AOL did as mentioned earlier.

LIAR 2: Yeah, what the hey. DC RI it is.

WITH OR WITHOUT YOU: I think Crash Bandi-Bot is going to be a life-saver for the little clusterbot, considering neither tolerate being flipped very well.

                                DIOTOIR: Now....I wonder...

                                TEAM NAME: The Varying Dinowarriors?
