+2>Use the Arena to your Advantage 1 - Bloody Low Walls
The Concept
We all know and love those weapon-based fights. Flipper Frenzies, Axe Attacks, you know. This tournament, or rather, this series of tournaments, adds a small twist to this concept. I€™m not gonna restrict my tournaments to€¦ say€¦ only spinners. Instead, I€™m gonna make an arena that€™s essentially a spinner€™s paradise, and make it open for anyone to enter, spinner or no spinner. Heck, I can€™t force people to have a spinner in their squad, can I?
Chapter 1 - Bloody Low Walls
For this first edition, I will present you my flippers€™ paradise. The arena is an octagon with walls all around, 25 cm walls that is. Also, the walls are sloped, making a 30 degrees angle with the floor, to making shoving someone OOTA even more easy. Two of the eight walls (opposite walls) have big gaping pits waiting on the other side. The octagon is 20 m wide.
Some pointers
- Like I said, OOTA€™s are even easier than ever before.
- Weaker front- or rear-hinged flippers can perform OOTA€™s more easily.
- Stronger rear-hinged flippers can perform OOTA€™s from a larger distance.
- Vertical discs are also notorious OOTA€™ers.
- As are fast rambots.
- Important one: the walls are low AND sloped, I€™m sure something big-wheeled like Stinger could drive straight back into the arena after being OOTA€™d. (This is also why I put two pits outside the arena
).
- If you€™re like €œscrew the walls, I€™ll enter a FBS and win everything by TKO€Â, be my guest.
- If you see any other advantages in an arena like this, be my guest to abuse them, be creative!

Entrants
Yes, this being said, for this tournament I want 8 people to enter 1 robot each. I will allow real robots but I need you to give me some detailed info.
- (Omni)wheeled robots must weigh 100 kg max.
- Tracked or shuffling robots must weigh 110 kg max.
- Walkers must weigh 150 kg max.
- Flying robots are banned.
- You can explain your stats in any way you want, but there are some things I really want to know about your bot (either very detailed or roughly estimated), these are:
Weight
Shape
Ground Clearance
Dimensions
Speed
Movement type
Armour
Weaponry
Motor (or at least a rough estimation of the traction)
Srimech
Strengths and weaknesses
Any more details are more than welcome
- Clusterbots are allowed, but no part can weigh less than 10% of the total mass of your bot. If MORE than half of your bots is counted out, ALL your bots are counted out.
- Passive weaponry is allowed.
- Interchangeable weaponry is banned.
- Unfairly unrealistic robots are banned, crappy robots are allowed at your risk.
Tournament Setup
8 Bots, straight knockout, €˜nuff said.
The Battles
- The robots will fight €˜till the end, there are no judges.
- When 2 robots are counted out at the same time, a replay occurs.
- A robot is counted out when it€™s either immobile for 30 seconds or resides OOTA for 30 seconds, IF the opponent IS immobile at some point during said 30 seconds.
Reservations
Basically, I want all stats in ASAP. If anybody feels the urge to save a spot, he€™ll be given a week to get his stats in.
