Use the Arena to your Advantage 1 - Bloody Low Walls
Use the Arena to your Advantage 1 - Bloody Low Walls
Both predictions wrong! Damn! Aaron consistantly designs very persistant robots were everything is through through to be as good as possible. AJ goes for an all-rounded approach. I personally prefer the beater idea, as it may keep on turning GeForce over, course some damage.
Use the Arena to your Advantage 1 - Bloody Low Walls
GRAND FINAL
GeForce 4.0 vs Wyfe Beater

ACTIVATE!
The speedy GeForce leaves his starting square and eagerly wants to get his damn tournament over with. And nobody can really blame him, because this testosterone flipper has shown to be quite effective in this specific arena, where it can throw opponents OOTA without breaking a sweat, or, like Andy put it himself, €œmy tactics haven€™t let me down so far€Â. Well guess what mr. Jackson, the same thing can be said about Aaron€™s run in this tournament. With one of the few non-flippers in the tournaments Wyfe Beater proved to be very effective in utilising those bloody low walls to its advantage. Said Beater now places itself firmly in the centre of the arena to avoid being thrown out, while at the same time GeForce lines itself up to get Wyfe Beater OOTA ASAP. GeForce comes in powered by those powerful LEMs and Andy€™s driving skills prove good enough to beat that 10 mm GC that can be found at the side of Wyfe Beater!
FLIP!
The first blood is drawn as Wyfe Beater is quite literally SWUNG into the air, but the blood isnt as deep red as Andy wants it to be and Wyfe Beater comes down, with a bang, but quite safely onto its invertible body. GeForce comes in again but Wyfe Beater wont let its opponent sneak up on him a second time. Geforce comes and Wyfe Beater turns. Andy swiftly makes another turn to get away from that deadly beater weapon, and with success. Aaron now has the initiative however and continues his attack on GeForce some more, until€¦
CRASH!
Sloped sides or not, GeForce is knocked up and the skirt is knocked CLEAN OFF! GeForce activates it srimech before more harm can be done, which proves to be very wise as Wyfe Beater comes in again. GeForce turns around, but Wyfe Beater is still attacking. GeForce brings in the flipper, but isnt as lucky as with its first flip€¦
CRASH!
Before GeForce can do any flipping at all the vapour is beaten away by the beater. The slope of the flipper deflects most damage but still one cant deny the pressure GeForce is under. Especially when Wyfe Beater goes into forward mode€¦
CRASH!
Again its the flipper that receives the hit, and again most is deflected, in comes Wyfe Beater, but this time GeForce outmanoeuvres its opponent and comes in€¦
FLIP!
Wyfe Beater now finds itself in the same position it was at the start of this match and anticipates the now incoming GeForce. Flipper meets spinner again€¦
CRASH!
And again the spinner does most damage! The audience sees how the fight has slowly but steadily moved itself closer and closer to the arena wall when Wyfe Beater attacks that flipper yet again!
CRASH!

!
That final attack didnt invert GeForce, but the powerful flipper IS beaten OOTA by it! Still on its wheels, GeForce eagerly attempts to ram its way through the wall!
CLANG!
But with no use! There€™s no escaping! No matter how hard GeForce has tried for the past 27 seconds€¦

CEASE
GeForce, OOTA he is WYFE BEATER, UTATYA 1 HE WON!
And that€™s it, UTATYA 1, my first experimental tournament, is over. I was very happy I could get 16 people for it, though in the end the tournament took longer to finish than any 16-robot tournament should. Anyway, I made it my job to finish it and so I did. I very much liked the idea of having €œan arena that favours flippers€ rather than an €œonly flippers allowed€ approach. Only 10 out of the 16 robots entered were actually flippers, 2 of which were front-hinged and even 1 was unhinged. As expected by me there were vertical spinners, 2 to be exact. The biggest surprises came from the 4 remaining entrants, 1 was a FBS that could launch robots, 1 was just a horizontal spinner trying its luck and 2 utilised anti flipper mechanisms to gain advantage in this arena. In the end the final was between the best of the rear-hinged flippers and a vertical spinner, and the vertical spinner won to prove this tournament wasnt just another Flipper Frenzy.
This tournament also was a nice and long pause for MN 2, which will continue ASAP. I might pause MN 2 another time in the future to make room for UTATYA 2 and show off another arena one might take advantage of
Many congratulations to Aaron Knight for winning this tournament!!!
