You could probably do with describing what shape it is rather than just saying what it looks like - in this particular case I have NFI what Tornado Mer is, so a description would be handy...

...and to go slightly loco and use a phrase I never thought I would ever use , will somebody please examine my Paramagnetic LOX Box?

      Paramagnetic LOX Box
      WEIGHT: 100kgs
      DIMENSIONS: 95 x 95 x 35 cm
SHAPE: A hexagon with wedges on all sides, like Turtle Road Kill with two fewer sides.
COLOUR: Bright white, decorated with various warning triangles, symbols and signs in various flourescent colours.
DRIVE: 6 S28-150 Magmotors running from 6 NiMh battlepacks, each driving a machined aluminium sylinder with a urethane rubber screw thread on it, very similar to Alex Holts drive system on Blizzard. The screws are located inside the shell parallel to the armour plates, and using various combinations of rotation make the robot completely omnidirectional - only with a LOT more traction than if omniwheels were used. It can also spin in place to turn, but the design means it shouldnt need to that much.
      SPEED: 12mph max
GROUND CLEARANCE: 10mm, but all sides have hinged skirts making it 0.
ARMOUR: 4mm Hardox on all six wedges, with the top being 10mm carbon fibre/polypropylene honeycomb material and the baseplate 5mm aluminium.
      WEAPONS: None as such
SRIMECH: A linear actuator driven bar in the top of the robot, that self rights it in about 2 seconds.
NOTES: Components inside are shock mounted for protection against things. Dont ask about the name.
STRENGTHS: HUGE traction, uniqueish, good pusher and omnidirectional - in fact, it works best without turning around.
WEAKNESSES: Lack of weaponry, so-so armour

Well, Joey, I cant say anything about PLB because Ive no experience with Blizzard-style mobility.

            Here are some suggestions:

            Change the 6 S28-150 Mags to 4/6 S28-400 Mags.

Change the 4mm Hardox into 5mm Titanium.

Change the 10mm Carbon Fibre/Polypropylene into either 5mm Titanium or 4mm Hardox.

Mark, it needs 6 motors because theres 6 screws, and sometimes they need to go in completely different directions...the traction I get should outweigh any problems with torque or power, although I could be wrong.

And the CF/polyprop is there because its very stiff, lightweight and resistant to impacts, and I should be safe seeing as there are no current spinners AFAIK that can come down on the top of a robot, and even then itd withstand some battering.

Dont under-estimate the strength of carbon fibre, although a crusher will have a field day

Precisely the reason why its omnidirectional

Joey, you could at least turn the S28-150 motors into S28-400 motors, and turn the 4mm Hardox into 5mm Titanium.

Why would we take advice from you when you dont take advice from us?

I think were experienced and knowledgable enough to know what works and what doesnt work on a design - Joey knows what hes doing and credit to him for it as its a very brave idea to try out, as only him and Alex H have tried it out. If he wishs to use those Magmotors - fine. If he wishes to use Hardox armour - fine.

Dont give us advice when you know sod-all about vapourboteering.

I will admit its a brave idea, but if he faces any crushers, hell be in big trouble.

Mark, the reason I dont do that is because Im pretty sure it would put it overweight...and I second what Paul said. When somebody like AJ or Aaron or (long shot) Frank comes along and tells me that I could make it better, I will listen to them because I respect them, and they are more experienced and knowledgable about this sort of thing, and thus are likely to be right. When its coming from you...well...

I havent commented on PLB because I dont see anything wrong with it. I dont think its the most efficient design for combat, but things would be boring if we all entered the same stuff.

For me it was the same as Frank, I didnt see any major flaws so I didnt comment on it. I cant imagine it being a major winner in competitions, but that doesnt mean its design itself is wrong.

Thats alright, I just interpreted the amazing silence that followed it initially as me seriously cocking it up or something similar
