    Re: Graupner motors

Ok, here's what you need to get

    2x 14.4v gimpsons
    2x robochallenge 100mm blue wheels
    1x scooter motor (search eBay)
1x axe or hammer (can be purchased at local DIY store)
    2x electonize 15 amp
    1x electonize 30 amp
    2x 12v 3700mah Nimhs (eBay)
Sheet of 15mm hdpe for making the robot
    Wood screws
Jig saw for cutting hdpe (unless you have one already)

Gearing for the axe, the scooter motor will have a 6mm sprocket attached, I have a 78 tooth sprocket you can have if you want. Then all you need is the chain which can be bought at your local bike shop.

        Re: Graupner motors

Sadly, I don't think life will let you get away that easily.

I 100% guarantee it will not be easy. That said, I wish ya the best of luck. Last thing I want to do is kill enthusiasm! The fun is in working out how to make something work, and in the frantic 10 minutes before your next battle trying to fix the thing.

You'll need a shaft and bearings of some sort. There's enough in working out how to do that to keep you occupied for a week.

Edit: recommend you make a dedicated thread in which to ask all your questions.

            Re: Graupner motors

I am sure they are will not take 300A- and I wouldn't get them from America especially from an eBay seller as if you have to return or repair them then postage will cost a fortune. Have you already payed for them?
I'd go for electronizes or at least the tried and tested blue marine escs?

              Re: Graupner motors

They won't take 300 amps, probably they'll do for a drill motor or gimpsom each if you don't overvolt them much.

                    Re: Graupner motors

They are cheap - awfully cheap - and that is why it's probably best to avoid them.

I'd recommend some 15a Electronize ESCs. Cheap, rugged, proven.

Has anyone got a link to those Blue Marine ESCs?

I need some cheapy ESCs and there seems to be several 'blue' esc knocking about.
