the ram volume is 0.23l, so a 1l fire extinguisher would do nicely all be it a bit ott. if i were you i'd use the 600g co2 tank for the main tank and either a 12oz bottle for buffer or a small dry powder extinguisher

The car-powder extinguisher is a tad oversized. A 12Oz paintball bottle overly heavy and small for the application.

Also, a .23L volume ram uses 2.3 liters of gas at 140 psi/10bar(max working pressure for mainstream pneumatics, and I would advocate using 100-110 psi/8 bar).

A 600 gram(20oz) bottle contains 300 liters of gas. That should give you 80 useable shots.
With a 12oz, that still is 40 shots +.

Swapping the pin valve with a normal CO2 valve ain't that easy, as the foot of a normal CO2 valve is or 4/3 BSPT, or M25*2, The paintball bottle uses 5/8 UNF as neck tread.

Nothing a lathe can't solve tough.

No, the bottle thread will be the one I have shown, the .85 big 14 tpi. Or else the US GCA320. Not even close to 1/4 BSP.

You still need a connecting nut from 1/4 BSP to whatever on your bottle. The easiest to make (for somebody with a lathe of a good drill press and the tap-set) is a 1/2 bsp female to 1/4 BSP male. So, a on/off valve on the 20oz tank, and you're in business.

Sleightly less easy, as it requires a shop that can crimp hydraulic connectors, is to use the CO2 threaded normal valve, and the hose/connector of a fire-extinguisher. Just crimp on the 1/4 BSP male.

Mario ...I'm confused by your thread references.

IMO ...The Trev reg should screw directly onto the ebay aquarium bottle.

EDIT ..I'm assuming the Trevor reg has a std CO2 nut.

I dont know the fitting on the bottle but the reg has a 1/4 BSP inlet.
How would I be able to change the pin valve to something that would screw into the bottle and has a 1/4 BSP outlet???

The mistake I'm making is that I tought it was a 1/4 BSP female.

On the treads. Direct reference to your pages I'm afraid.
2 kinds of Thread on industrial CO2 bottles, The European/UK intermixing one, the 14 TPI that is bigger in diameter than 1/2 bsp (5/8?), and the US CGA320 tread.
And then a few others for smaller applications as paintball and sodastream.

One of these then ..
It'll screw on the std paintball bottle thread and provide a side outlet.


with a 1/8 bsp - 1/4 bsp nipple....like the one shown ..between the paintball adaptor and the Trevor reg.
Note:-The thread in the SIDE of the paintball adaptor is probably npt and will need a bsp tap run down it.

ok sorry for your confusion
The reg is a one that trev has sent to me and has no changes.
I miss typed what the inlet size was and it is a 3/4 BSP inlet I think
The thread diametre on the nut is just over 3/4 if that helps

Probably the CO2 nut. You could use that aquarium bottle in a pinch then.

The thread in the big brass nut is a special/ bastard thread .... Mario posted a pic from my site giving the dims of this.

OK you have a std European co2 nut on the reg ... and an American / paintball thread .


I'd suggest perhaps getting the ASA paintball adaptor with the side entry... then hacksaw a thread off a fire extinguisher and tap the middle bsp.... you could do this yourself ..or ask Mario ..or I could at a pinch be persuaded.

You then you just need a nipple between the two.
