  • Pneumatic Fittings

    Hi,

    I have got a 20oz C02 bottle http://www.amazon.co.uk/approved-20oz-C ... 083&sr=8-2
and a Trev reg that came today but the 2 wont screw together

I dont know the fitting on the bottle but the reg has a 1/4 BSP inlet.
How would I be able to change the pin valve to something that would screw into the bottle and has a 1/4 BSP outlet???

    Re: Pneumatic Fittings

The bottle uses an US thread that is so close to 1/2 bsp it doesn't matter.
You need another valve in between the Trevor and the bottle. That's the disadvantage of a pin-valve.
Therefor, you need a ballvalve with a 1/2 bsp female inlet, but also with a pin-pusher.

You can buy a seperate on/off valve for your bottle. The thread stays the same.
Or better, go to a local paintball shop, and let them change it.

ok I try a ball valve as that will count as an on/off valve so... where can I get a ball valve with a 1/2BSP with pin pusher inlet and a 1/4BSP outlet?

Not, I guess you'll have to build it yourself, or pay top £££ for a machinist to make it for you.

I suggest replacing the pin valve with an on/off valve. Less hassle, safer and lighter.

what kind of thread would I need if I unscrewed the whole pin valve and put an on/off valve in?

            Re: Pneumatic Fittings

The on/off valve should have the same tread as the pin valve. It's a rather standard thing.

              You can get these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-PAINTBALL ... 27b1369bba

Problem is that you still have issues with co2 fitting and the flow of the valve isnt that good

The flow of any bottle-valve ain't something to cheer about. That is why buffertanks or, old school liquid CO2 injection is used.

Actually an on/off valve for a filling kit would do the job with a pin valve:

                  http://www.rap4uk.com/Air-Tank-on-off-V ... p/1280.htm

Bear in mind if you take a pin valve bottle to an event then you will need your own filling kit look on ebay they're about £20

Although i would agree with Mario just replace it with an on/off valve.

Should do but maybe Mario could advise if there's any significance on the US CGA 320 description. Not sure if there is a us and uk thread.

For that pricetag you can't misbuy.
Worst thing happening is that you have to replace the connecting nut to the CO2 tank.
The pin valve/paintball tank connector is international.

thinking about the price of stuff I may use my 20 oz tank as a buffer and get a 1kg/600g fire extinguisher as the main tank.
What kind of fittings do fire extinguishers have as there output?

20oz=600gram. Is almost 1 liter of volume in the bottle. How big a ram are you planning to use?

Throughout the world, carbon dioxide cylinder valves have a special thread. In Europe, Africa and much of Australasia, the thread conforms to British Standard 341 Part 1 (.860 in x 1/14 in W) or the direct European equivalent (DIN 477, SN 219505, etc). These threads are in effect interchangeable.

                            British BS341 No. 8 European DIN 477 No. 6 and SN 219505 Type 7
                            French NF E 29-650 Type C Australian AS2473 Type 30

America CGA 320 and Japanese JIS B 8246 CO2 threads are different and are not compatible with each other nor with British/European CO2 threads).
