Them drills are fine, Just build a wedge rambot/pusher for now. As for parts you will need, it depends how much your wanting to spend. If your wanting to build it really cheap them drills will get you drive motors, batts and chargers for the robot. Theres loads of info on the forum telling you what you will need and good materials to build your robot etc. if you have trouble finding the info just ask.

Gents I hate to be anal but can we throw our posts through a spell checker before clicking submit? I know that missing out vowels and using numbers is the popular thing to do nowadays but i find it a pain in the proverbial.

As to your questions, take a look at other threads within the featherweight section and you will find a lot of the information you are after.

I assume you are asking how to work out the current that the drills will draw? This is a tricky one to answer without experimental data from the specific drill (they all differ). As a guide you should be looking for a speed controller with a rating of 15amps plus for a featherweight. I would recommend the electronize, sabretooth or scorpion controllers in this respect.

I wouldn't recommend looking at the speed controllers available on sites such as ebay as usually they exaggerate the controllers rating unless you know what you are looking for.

i have to agree, don't waste your money on that esc. its probably only 10amp and has no reverse.

I also bought some of them. I've tested them on a cordless screwdriver and they haven't blown up although they did cut out when reversing direction quickly because the battery voltage was dipping well below the cut off (only a 3.6v battery.)

yes jonny, i know it may seem hypocritical but, they should learn from others mistakes and get the right stuff from the start.
i doubt they are real amps though so im just running some drills with them.
btw jordon how long did they take to get to you?

the wires on those controllers are the biggest giveaway. Absolutely tiny!
