  • My push/rambot so far

Iv had my first robot running today, I thought I would post a couple of pics.

Please bear in mind this is my first robot and the wirings alittle messy at the moment, I just wanted to see it run

It has 2x4500mah 7.2v batteries wires in series
    2x electronize ESCs
    4x 12v motors
    Spektrum radio gear

Im suprised how nippy it is The plan now is to fit 20mmx20mm angle iron down the inside edges for extra strength, I also need to finish the rest of the HDPE body, then plate it with stainless steel or alike.

Here's a reminder of what it will look like finished

    Thanks for looking

                Re: My push/rambot so far

no spinning events with this one, I dont fancy it being smashed to bits

I have about 9mm ground clearance so upto 3mm steel thickness over the plastic? that'll leave me with 6mm ground clearance. sound about right?

                    Re: My push/rambot so far

I was just going to use HDPE re enforced by angle iron for the box sections around the wheels, the with plates on the side

                      Re: My push/rambot so far

What did you use to angle the base plate to match the sides ? I can never get a clean even angle on HDPE.

                        A wood saw

Does the removable link need to be on the top of therobot or can it be on a side?

                          Re: My push/rambot so far

With an invertable robot it should either be accessible from either way up, so put it eithr in the side or the back end.

Yeah, Noobie question... What is a removeable link and why do you need it? and whats it used for?

A removeable link is basically a loop of wire within a removeable connector, pulling it out will disable the robot and shut everything down. Its in the rules so that if a robot runs riot or there is an immdeiate problem you can turn the robot off externally. For example, Big Nipper went into full forward against the wall at wigan, and pete had to pull the link to cut power to the robots internals.
