      Hi Glen,

The UKRobotics wheels are made from HDPE with steel inserts. Dimensions are 82mm diameter, 12mm wide. The wheels have been designed to bolt together so you can make them as wide as you like. Wheels & tyres can be purchased separatly.

The additional fixing components (nuts and washers etc) are normally supplied as part of the mod kits but if you state when ordering that you are using the wheels without the mod kits, we can supply the additional parts.

Modkits, wheels, tyres etc can be ordered here:

Theyre big in Australia, but I dont know the origin of them. To be honest, from what I can gather, Doms wheels are far superior.

What I would like, is a solid aluminium wheel, that I could tap some machine screws into to hold the tyre. About 3.25-3.50 inches in diameter, tapped to go straight on the drill. However, I wonder how well the thread would last.

          Any thoughts?

Very well. Thats what ive done with the back wheels on KR2. Tapped to screw onto the drill gear box shaft. Tho instead of screwing rubber or whatever grip to it, i just got em sent away to be vulkernised to be done with it. Look pish posh. Too posh for me - eeek. LOL

                Drills

Ive just found the current best UK cordless drill offer at Index- a 9.6v drill for 9.99

                http://www.index.co.uk/rf/navigation/product.do?SN=&versionid=728&categoryid=149949417& thisprod=176186142&product=176186142&D=176474448&r ow=1&col=1&displaybanner=falsehttp://www.index.co.uk/rf/navigation...categoryid=149 949417&thisprod=176186142&product=176186142&D=1764 74448&row=1&col=1&displaybanne r=false

This would be ideal for Dominics mod kits, or just a 2wd or 4wd featherweight.

                  Drills

                  macro have the best prices for NuTool drills, from what i can remember they are;

                  12v drills - £6.99
                  14.4v drills - £9.99
                  18v drills - £14.99
                  24v drills - £19.99

they also have BIG 30v drills, dont know how much they cost (we have one) and i think its what Blue uses for drive.

Our local Woolworths and Big W are selling 18v Drills at £9.99 at the moment during there sales otherwise there norm £12.99 and there really easy to hack with a decent sized motor.

ok just to let you know the red wheel is a 95mm wheel for bunnings(if you dont have it its just a big hardware store) but the resion we all like them so much is that you can screw a drill moters end right though the centre its the right size. Are they as good as your wheels? no
But there $4 au each so not bad

To be honest, I think the closest you could get to them is the red wheels at B&Q, but youd be better off buying a higher quality wheel

Mine gets quite warm at 16.8v, but thats coz it was full on/off. No speed control. Im sure if you use speed control, its would be better, but 24v, hmmm maybe pushing it.
