Dave,
Ah, lunch for Scorpion Jr...Saves me having to feed it!!
(is it comming to Debenham?)
Andrew,
Bit worried about that sarcasm based weapon though!
Oh well, if as yet unbuilt feathers count:
Wreck-Or-Deck. 14.4v drills for (two wheel) drive, a cheap 24v drill as a weapon motor, to be used with the supplied batteries initially. Electronize 30A speedos. Basically a lateral spinner that looks like record player. Real recordsll be used clamped onto the disc/ bar to get that nice retro look. Woodgrain fablon finish, possibly a self-righting tonearm, if weight allows. I have all the bits listed above. Now all I need to do is build it...
That looks OK Dave, compact isnt it. I have just one small issue..What is suporting that spinning bar?
Please dont tell me its only hanging on a motor shaft!
Whoa that is sooo weird. That body looks like a metal toolbox i made in year 8-9 metalwork at school.
that motor looks similar to my robot scraps new weopon motor. Its from a car and its a radiator fan motor. I also when gettuing the motor i have now found a ev warrior with a round mounting plate to it. So using that in a lightweight i hope. (we are getting into them out here).
The only thing is that one competitor out here has a rbot called sorry and used a spinning bar. He has damaged or fried each weopon motor at each event because of the sudden jerks and stops involved. Which is also why he has gone to a saw blade (like mine). So unless u are going to deliver one big hit which is enough to damage them heaps, expect to buy spare motors.
Well, Its just an every day fan motor really. Exsept it hasnt really got a normall output shaft. Its just a plate of ali that spins...and the fan was bolted on via 3 bolts so ive just taken the fan of and put the bar on.
I think I may build a proper vershion after deb using an Ev warrior that im getting soon.
Andrew- Im not woried about buying new motors...The robots only a prototype / toy and will probably only live for 2 fights MAX
