Haha, it looks beautiful so far, but it does remind me of a portable CD player!

Orbit is nearly done. This week we received new gearboxes because the current drives are way to fast.

Others have said it, I'll say it again - engineering porn! Looks great!

I'll 2nd that. Looks properly awesome!

That spinner looks like it could be pretty fearsome as well as pretty.

Did some progress on the rebuild off omega. It had a few big hits from Django and DB10 at the insomnia58. Redoing the gearboxes because there is a small design flaw on it. Also made already one new side plate. Witch is even a bit lighter to make space for a titanium bottom plate.

Also made two new wheels. I give it a shot on using shore 60 rubber for the back tires. I did some small tests and it don't seems the be less grippy but it is way harder i hope i will wear a little less.

a thing of beauty. Mine do a similiar thing on Spur 3 but the quality you have achieved is far more (do you think the wife would notice a CNC mill in the garage?, mmmm)

                Yep, inspiring work there Stef!

Can I ask what sort of belts you are using for your drive?

And how are you keeping them tensioned? I can't see any idler wheels or anything in there. Do you have to take the wheels off to fit the belts?

                Cheers!

thanks, I use a HTD 5 belt for the drives. I think it is the profile with the most grip on a pully.
There is no tensioner on the belt, i used the exact center distance minus 0.5mm for these pully's and that works just fine for me.

Looking very good, like how you have done the hub motor in the drum

Time for small update, right now we are building a beetleweight version of our feather Equinox. Most likely you have seen it already on facebook but anyway here are a few pictures. Also we are currently working on a new way bigger cnc mill more info on that later.

Do the side panels take hits ok with being standoff mounted?

So far is has been fine! But in all fairness, it has not yet fought another fierce spinner.
