    Thanks for the quick replies
Its a beetle, and the batteries alone weigh around 330grams each.
It'll still be right on the weight limit though!

For anyone thinking of using them in a feather, all of the gears in the first and second stages are metal.
That is extremely useful to me, as I was thinking of buying metal gears for mine soon, and now I don't need to.

      They're 12v 1000mAh NiCads.
They run two drill motors fine at full power for a good while, never ran them down completely before but they do last a fight, possibly two. They're okay for salvaging a battery back to last before you get a Li-Po, but they aren't brilliant.

Thanks for that info. I may have miscalculated some run times and stuff.
Btw, I had a lot of trouble trying to get the reverse screw in the chuck out. It did this to a screwdriver head:

        Any ideas?

Oh dear, did you use another drill to try and get it out or was it by hand?

I wouldn't bother with drill batteries in a beetle to be honest with you, they're really heavy for what they are. You could do... but there's infinitely better options.
