Ok, firstly soldering XT60 you need a decent capacity soldering iron (40watt ish) as you need to locally heat the wire and terminal and not heat soak it (which melts the plastic)
I tin the wire - yes it comes pre-tinned but this ensures solder has wicked up the wire a bit more. In the terminal feed some solder in and melt it in the bucket. This should leave you with the terminal tinned but not too full.
Finally bring the wire and terminal together and solder in. If you get it right there will be enough solder already though you might need to feed a bit more in
Oh, and I have my XT60 clamped in a bench vice as you need 3 hands
