That's a good point Mario but I've really only a need for one fan, worth bearing in mind though.

If you have the weight left, a second fan probably is cheaper than any solution involving step-down.

But, what are the stats of the fan? Size, powerconsumption and such

      Re: Team Bitza

Currently plan on using a PC fan, which is perhaps a bit too big (let alone 2). Their use it cooling ESCs so your Victor ones could be perfect!

build your own, thats what i do in laser to regulate the voltage.
a quick search on the internet will find you all the parts and pop down to maplin and they should have all the components. dead easy to assemble and a lot cheaper then buying ready built circuits.

I'll try and get the dimensions for the fan tomorrow and you can see if it will fit.

            Cheers Dave!

That's true Ben, but for £1.50 it would be cheaper to buy one. Maybe if I wanted a project!

BitzaWood Revo now has a proper disk. Dan turned it down from the master pulley of a V6 Mondeo and added tool steel teeth.
              Video to follow!

That looks seriously nasty! That tooth is huge!!! Top speed? Weight?

Nice! would like to see the video of it in action
...just a small observation - wouldn't the tooth be more effective if it were fixed with the sharp edge facing outwards?

                    Re: Team Bitza

@Liftoff, I'm not quite sure I know what you mean? The sharp edge of the tooth is at the very edge of the radius.
Dan then machined a gradual radius on the outside of the tooth so as much mass as possible is away from the centre and behind the sharp edge without protruding beyond the maximum diameter.

@Eventorizon about 3000rpm 2.5kgs. The setup was originally for those wood saws, for which I didn't want a huge amount of top speed.
The plan is to do a voltage upgrade to 6s which should double the RPM.

That looks seriously nasty. One day you have to build a featherweight K2!

I see what you mean, the radius on the outside of the tooth is at a tangent to the pulley - looking back at the photos its clear... That machine will cause some serious amount of damage!

                          Re: Team Bitza

It packs a decent amount of punch for a rather small diameter.
The disk is good but the rest is pretty flawed!

I like the look of K2, a similar low profile design is what I was thinking for the re-design. Reluctant to start though, don't know if I'll have time before April.

Haha, good luck. Post pictures of whatever you make.

Haha, well I have all the components! Just need to make the chassis and bolt it together.
