                Re: Gabriel

As promised the video of the axe mechanism it works a little faster than the video seems to show it is a cheap camera!!
Hope this explains how the robot mechanism works

That works really well! I wonder if light and fast is better than slow and heavy (axe heads)?

                        Thanks for the comments,
I may try to increase the weight of the axe head a little, and at the moment the battery is only rated at 12v this could easily be increased to 16.8v. increasing the power from the motor. But at the moment I want to get the robot finished for Portsmouth

seen the video of the axe system, looks really good, got me thinking about doing a similar system

                              An Interesting question.
The effectiveness of a hitting weapon relies on three basic parts.
                              1/ Speed.
                              2/ Mass (or weight).
                              3/ Contact surface area.

I would say there is a small advantage going fast and light. The reason is, it dose not give the armour as much time to distort and in doing so absorb and dissipate the energy in the contact area.

                              But what do you think?

I have cut new top and bottom armour for the robot and moved the wheels back to help with control and turning
