But on a serious note, stop breaking yourself!
Hope you manage to get it sorted out pretty soon, and rest up well afterwards!

So, with this inability to lift anything remotely heavy, do you want me to hold on to T-Bone for a while?

There was a funny story about actually, she called him and said she would be in Glasgow the next weekend for a photoshoot and that he should come along and to find her on FB so she could send him the details. So he added her and it transpired that she was nearly 10 years older than him and she wasn't too happy about that and he never got the details

Ach i'll try, but I get bored of being incapacitated and probably do myself more harm than good trying to get better.

I'll come down sometime between the Champs and Edinburgh to give you Cicatrix for debugging and i'll pick it up then if you like, I wont be able to do anything with it anyway. Not sure when it'll be getting it fixed atm. Thats another thing i'll do for RL though, I have wheels and motors for T-Bone so it can at least go at static looking complete-ish.

Maybe I should try to find her this year then. She may not consider a five-year age gap to be as bad

If you want, and are free on Monday afternoon, we could drop it off on the way back up (I need to pay you for that relay too!) as it'll probably take up most of my working space in the Cave of Blunders. If you're not free though, I'll find somewhere to store it temporarily until it's convenient

I'll see if he still has her number. You can text her saying Remembr me? Its Jamie, I'm 5 years older now  . Its his birthday night out this evening, so I don't think he'll be in any state to give such information out at the moment.

Yeah you can do that if you like, I can make sure i'm around. I'll make sure Cicatrix isn't currently in flames too if you want to take that away with you too. No hurry for that though, and it'll probably work with you have it for no real reason. Either that or it'll do its usual, never work in testing then work in the arena inexplicably.

Jamie very kindly dropped T-Bone off with me today and took Cicatrix away to work his magic on it. I will attempt to build it up over the next few days and get some photos, might even stick some motors/wheels on to make it look a bit more complete, but that will all depend on how much lifting I can actually do over the coming days.

He also dropped off a disc for Gary, so might take some photos with that in there too to see how it looks before I pass it on to him when he gets back on shore.

On another note, judging by the amount stuff he picked up at the Champs for other people, Jamie's new car should have one of these in the window

Been struggling away with my various bots over the past few weeks since my last update, but the bigger update on my robots comes to you from south of the Clyde courtesy of Mr McHarg.

The rear pod has been cleaned up and polycarb sections inserted to hold all of the main components and power poles added. Also added mini deans to the LED and a mount for the link. Also now has 2 receivers, wonder if anyone can guess why that is?

XXL is still pretty jumpy when accelerating hard, even after its been repaired, so it must be the current limiting not liking the 4 motors. Out of interest, does anyone else use the same setup as me with success?

Will try tomorrow to get some photos of T-Bone up in its current state.

I've heard that it works great on 2 motors, and Rick said he also had to Speed 900's running on it without issue. I remember Craig telling me back last year that he has issue with it running 4 drills and swapped to the Wotty, so was wondering if anyone had actually managed to run the 4 motors successfully.

Also, weather was insanely rainy today so no T-Bone pics, but hopefully tomorrow will be a bit nicer.

Took T-Bone out today as it was nice and sunny, then after I messed around getting it on and off the cart and out in the open it tipped it down, but later that day I did get some photos.

Here are all the parts Jonno gave me with it:

There are some parts missing, like the second wheel guard and the fixture for one of the motor pods but new ones can be sourced/made.

After a while laying all the parts out and working out where they go, I had a bash at some reassembly.

Doesn't look too bad at all, although the stickers are looking a bit worse for ware. My idea for that problem was firstly to fix the T-Bone sticker on the front by replacing it, nice and easy job there. Then the forums input will be requested.

                      Do I:

                      a) Try to fix the pictures on there currently
                      or
                      b) use slightly different pictures

As the pictures are of a guy with a sword and a cow I was considering Scottish-ing it up and using a Highland Coo and a dude in a kilt with a sword instead. Also, wheel guard has the phrase Aye up me Duck!! written on it (anyone know what that means ?) and Jamie suggested that the other side, or both sides should be Scottish-ed to Och aye the noo!!

                      Thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated

well that's the most tubular thing i've seen today, did you get motors with it or is it just empty? what's the armour?

as for the stickers, scottish flags! scottish flags everywhere!

Nay danger Alex, cheers  So what I really want to be writing on there is Hallowraer China to keep it authentic?

It has the weapon motor and assembly Jonny, but the motors and wheels are the ones I got from you a few years ago, but they don't seem to quite fit, i'll need to have another look at that but they seem a bit on the big side.

Armour I reckon is HDPE, the wheel guards are steel and polycarb I think too. Speaking of that, the wheels seem a touch small, like they wouldn't have enough clearance when its inverted, it maybe it was just because the motors aren't quite fitting.

                              Quick update:

Jamie has been up here over the long weekend so we've been working on the robots and getting some good progress. Mostly on T-Bone and Eric

We're looking to get all the robots ready for this saturday, photos will come soon, Jamie has a fair few of them, but just keeping a checklist for now.

                              Chimera - Display complete
                              Eric - Nearly running
                              Scar - Display complete
T-Bone - Nearly running, ready for display on saturday
                              Cicatrix - Complete
Eric Jr - Lot of work to do
                              Rover - Complete

                              2/7 isn't bad for me
