Because I've never got round to updating it since May last year! The other reason being that I'm constantly changing my antweights so it'd be a bit too much of an ordeal to update the website continually every time I made a new one! I'm still looking for a better, free and simple way of making a website with a bit less hassle than Microsoft Publisher!

There's been little progress since February due to a few time-consuming factors, namely Telford, Barnsley, Whitwick, Portsmouth and York Now these are done I've finally managed to do something:
Baseplate and top plates have been added and the drive pods have been finished (so essentially minus some wiring it's in a drive-able state). As a result the screw-count has gone up to 67
Top and base plates are made out of 10mm HDPE. Current weight is 8.6kg, so 10.6kg with disc and 11kg with disc and motor. Even more sure that it's going to be tight on weight now!
After speaking with the Big Nipper team at York, we began to doubt our lipos. Since then I've had a look on the internet and found out that they're pretty old tech and only have a 20C discharge rate
I doubt that they'd be able to handle a 80W draining brushless and 2 feather golds. So I've ordered two nice new ones from Hobbyking (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... duct=32183),one for the drive, one for the weapon. And they're lighter than the ones I was going to use which is looking to be crucial!

your saying 11kg is heavy?!? wow! i currently only have 200 grams left of bruiser for a hole top, and wireing! wish i had 2.6 kg like you do! im still not sure how i managed to get that 200 grams for the new axe. It was about 300 grams over weight before I started even adding any of the axe...
looks good though! really nice! and amazing with a plastic machine!Comment

11kg plus pulleys/shafts etc for the disc, two speed controllers, lipos, reciever, wiring and Hardox outer armour

Yeah weight will definitely be an issue. Having said that though it isn't impossible and should be in weight with a few sacrifices. The inner bulkheads can be lightened and Hardox may have to be used sparingly.Comment

Hopefully that HDPE will hold up. The beetleweight that Will built I bought from Anttazz was made out of 5mm HDPE and it shattered when it fought a heavy blade. It shouldn't. Most of the structural HDPE is 20mm thick and the top, bottom and side plates are 10mm and held on rigidly. On top of that, there will be Hardox at the front to protect it all. I'd be very impressed if any spinner managed to get through all of that and shatter the inner HDPE structure!
The only time we've ever had any issue of HDPE cracking was one 4mm panel on Explosion when it fought NST, and even then it took a good few hits to do it. I can't really understand why often it is so brittle on other people's machines.Comment

We've finished the weapon setup (currently minus belts as we'll be testing without belts first!), painted the disc and fitted the Hardox. The Hardox still needs to be neatened and the all important stripes still need to be added, but that's an easy job, I've done it enough times! We've still to to wire it up, which we'll do tomorrow. Not weighed it recently but I'm pretty certain it's around 1kg overweight, which could have been worse. There are plenty of ways to lose that kilo but unfortunately there's not enough time for the champs. Not too much of an issue for now anyway as it's only for whiteboards this year

I have tried to make it look as different as possible! To be honest if you compare them they don't look that similar. The chassis is a pretty different shape and the only things they really share in common are the disc, the width and the wheels at the back.
Anyway Heatwave's a lot more similar to Explosion then this is to Inertia so I'm probably still a bit more original
