Just use deans connectors, and you could just use a Nimh battery, which would be eaiser/safer/more reliabile than the lipo, which you could leave in the robot while your charging it. I think lipos are to much work for there benifit, yes they are used all thr time in ants, but they need the benfit of it, where as, with the larger robot + untested lipos (cos no one really knows what ones to use for beetles) could be potentialy dangerous, i just would stick with something safer for now, And it's looking good other than that! I need to get mine working....

I'm with you on that one
lipos are more suited for ants (not mine :sad though you will need more nimhs cos they take like a day (seriously) to charge
I got a cheap beetleweight that cost nothing and there are pictures on page 4 of hazard 2s build diary currently only have motors and a 9v battery and want the cheapest speed controllers I can use motors pretty powerful but I don't know what amp I'm gonna say 20.just to be on the safe side

      help appreciated

I have a 12a sabertooth and I personally found it very easy to set up and get something moving with it.
Also thanks for the advice, i'll go source some suitable nimhs now. I don't really want my first robot to blow up!

              2x12 Sabertooth for sale here:

              viewtopic.php?f=166&t=5065

From my BW, very light and feature-ful (built in mixing, li-po, over current and thermal protection), easy mounting options, small and good current rating.
Includes a 2nd Sabertooth (next model up) for spares and upgrades.

Sounds like a plan, might just have to do the same and we can maybe get some battles going at last

If things get rolling in the BW world again (other competitors, an arena) then I'll get Spinza finished.

I was hoping MMM would be running BW, but seems they have AW, RW and FWs.

It would also appear that Robogames (USA) no longer run FWs but do BWs.....

Potentially, all depends when it is, travels costs, whether I have a working robot (BW included) at the time.
