My tips (as i told Frank last night)

Typhoon II vs X-Terminater
I only see a Typhoon win on the cards, hopefully X-Terminater will make it to the thrid place playoff and not be wrecked ala Typhoon or House robots like Shunt did to Hypnodisc

Storm II vs Tornado
Tornado might well be able to pull something out theirt bag of interchangeable tricks but i only se Storm II with its supierior speed winning this one.

Third place playoff
If im right it will be X-Terminater vs Tornado. I back Tornado to take the third seed and last British spot in the World Championships

Final
If im right it will be Storm II vs Typhoon II. I think Storm II will do the rags to riches going from New Blood champion to Domestic champion. Typhoon II has scary amounts of power but i think Storm II can take the beating or even get to them before they speed up. Even if Typhoon are spinning they have to be careful not to be pinged into the pit.

Thats my two penneth anyway.

Storm 2 Vs Tornado
I think Tornado could lose its crown as Storm 2 is more stronger, more powerful (11hp more then Tornado), this would be a keenly anticipated fight.

Typhoon 2 Vs X-Terminator
Anyway Typhoon 2 will easily destroy X-Terminator. Why, the angry face, Ill reveal all next Monday.

HOT TIPS: Storm 2 (16) & Typhoon 2

Definately Storm 2 to win (Ed & co, Ill be backing you all the way to end of the Grand Final), but, as I mentioned in the Heat 15 topic, Typhoon 2 could create a suprise

Heres my predictions (now that I know the draw):

Tornado vs. Storm II (semi)
---------------------------

A dream encounter, one which could go either way - Storm II has more speed, power and better weapons/armour, however Tornado is more agile and better driven, plus it does have a small amount of ground holding at the back. Both have similar tactics, but I think Tornado will try and use the pit more than Storm II. But there is a small chance that Storm II could send Tornado OOTA, so its anyones guess really. It could well go to the judges, but if I had to put money on it, Id go for Storm II.

Typhoon vs. X-Terminator (semi)
-------------------------------

Typhoon will easily get up to speed due to X-Terminator being slow and defensive. A nice big target, but possibly harder to immobilise due to the armour and all that empty space inside the chassis. But the proof of the pudding comes if the discs clash - horizontal always beats vertical. Typhoon to ensure that the final succumbs to extreme weather...

Tornado vs. X-Terminator (playoff)
----------------------------------
Tornado will use a wedge weapon to protect from the spinner, and will easily outmanoevre X-Terminator (despite the defensive tactics of XT), get under it and push it around and eventually down the pit. Thus ensuring that the top 3 succumbs to extreme weather...

Storm II vs. Typhoon (final)
----------------------------

Typhoon will spin up to speed if it moves quickly enough, but Storm II is the best in the business when it comes to armour, and will resist the blows and send Typhoon flying with each hit, and Typhoon will either get broken or tipped over. My original prediction at the start of the 7th war - Storm II - will come true IMO.

Whatever happens, the viewers will win - shame its the last RW final well ever see. (unless by some miracle RW comes back for an 8th war, which I seriously doubt)

if Storm II and Typhoon 2 get into the final battle, i think they did very well seeing as they are both new to the heaveyweight class of Robot Wars. It would be good to see a new commer win Robot Wars like in Series 2!

Oh, yes, I remember...Hypno-Disc broke down...too late to edit it...Gearbox problems, wasnt it?

Yep, they needed an hour or two to fix it (after taking damage from Steg) and only got 20 minutes, so all they could do was patch it up. IIRC the rule got changed after then but I think its back in now?
