Anyone know why so few "big names" took part in the final season?

I never did find out back in the day and having watched the last couple years recently tried to find it but found nothing on line. By best guess was 5 had some weird contract clause a few didn't want sign?

The only one I know for sure is Hypnodisc. They gave Series 7 a miss for family reasons and had intended to return for Series 8, and...well...we all know how that went.

Great to see these repeats on Challenge - Never thought I'd see these episodes again. I used to watch religiously, and tape them off the TV as well. I had boxes full of videos but I think my parents threw them out about 10 years ago thinking I'd "outgrown" it or something. (As if!)

No Idea why Challenge thinks Heat M comes after Semi-Final A though...
